    This book... if I had not been in an Aerosol Technology class being taught by one of the leading aerosol scientists in his field today, Dr. Tom Peters, I think this book would have swallowed me whole. The Hinds book is the "Aerosol bible"... per say... it has ALL the answers. The trick is definitely not to follow chapter by chapter, instead we read and worked through different chapters to grasp certain topics first. If I couldn't tell you how an aerosol particle is generated from a particular so This book... if I had not been in an Aerosol Technology class being taught by one of the leading aerosol scientists in his field today, Dr. Tom Peters, I think this book would have swallowed me whole. The trick is definitely not to follow chapter by chapter, instead we read and worked through different chapters to grasp certain topics first. If I couldn't tell you how an aerosol particle is generated from a particular source, moves/deposits dependent upon size, material makeup, and conditions, I would be lying. While browsing this book, one might be alarmed with lots of crazy looking formulas, but once concepts are grasped... they are very simple to apply. If you want to learn exactly how different aerosols are generated, how they interact in the environment and within the human respiratory tract, this is for you. If you'd like to know intricate detail as to why there is smog, fog, smoke, mist, vapor, and fume, this is for you. If you want to know mechanisms for sampling aerosols as well as developing capture devices, you would benefit from this Hinds book as a reference. Being in the field of Industrial Hygiene, I will be referencing this book in the future, but I am sure the developments in nanotechnology would also benefit from Hinds vast knowledge and collaboration of aerosol concepts.
