Much more engaging than its predecessor, this Monster High graphic novel actively expands on some of the lesser-known characters in the franchise - Iris Clops and Invisi Billy, to name two - while adding depth to the characters we already know, most notably Cleo. With a slightly older storyline and better character development, as well as art by the original artist behind the character pictures, this book could appeal to a much broader age range than the first and is in many ways simply good on Much more engaging than its predecessor, this Monster High graphic novel actively expands on some of the lesser-known characters in the franchise - Iris Clops and Invisi Billy, to name two - while adding depth to the characters we already know, most notably Cleo. This collection of short stories that builds up to the ending was a cute and quick read. It's greatest strength is by far the illustrations. I have been utterly obsessed with the Momster High style of illustration since the first images of the doll boxes appeared online, and it was those drawings that initially got me to start collecting the dolls. It's vibrant, crisp, and so, so detailed, particularly by comic/graphic novel standards (at least in my experience). I loved that it allowed us to spend time with lesser known characters (especially Iris, who has been my favourite "background" character since she appeared in the background of the first webisode in ~2010) while building on the main ensemble we all know and love (particularly Cleo). I wish Ghoulia and Slo Mo could have been included with their own arc, but that's just me being biased because I love Ghoulia. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for other MH graphic novels if they maintain this standard.

I love the artwork in this book. It's expressive, clean and crisp and it reflects the art style on the Monster High Boxes wonderfully. If this team puts together more graphic novels, I'll be more than willing to buy them for the art alone. The story's very cute. It goes through six cute couple stories from the new couple Manny Taur and Iris Clops to some more familiar pairings from the series. The stories are short and cute, and I rather enjoyed them. I COULD NEVER STRESS ENOUGH ON HOW MUCH I ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOVE GRAPHIC NOVELS. This one was fangtastic, I LOVED every story of them. It was Awesome, the terms were so funny, and the fact that each one of the characters had a monster parent made it even funnier. I love sci-fi so much, and this won’t be my last graphic novel for Heather Nuhfer 💚💚💚💚 I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS FOR ANYONE WHO LOVES monsters, myths, and laughing 💚

Monster High: I Only Have Eye for You Plot: In this graphic novel our beloved MH characters prepare for the Fraidy Hawkins Dance. It’s your move ladies! Iris Clops seems to keep falling (literally) for Manny Taur but just can’t seem to break through his beastly exterior. Gill gives his girl (Lagoona) a present that she can’t stop singing about. Heath tries an over-voltage of cuteness to get Abby’s attention. Scarah and Billy discover an intimate bond with a electrifying zap from Frankie. Heath tries an over-voltage of cuteness to get Abby’s attention. Scarah and Billy discover an intimate bond with a electrifying zap from Frankie. Deuce and Cleo also bond when they’re plans for the dance become unraveled. And Clawd well he’s having a scarily hard time planning the perfect date for Draculaura. Can all these things be somehow connected? My Thoughts: VERY CUTE! The short stories were enjoyable. You can take something from each one. In Iris and Manny’s story you can take that what you perceive of a person on the outside might be totally different once you get to know them. In Gill and Lagoona’s story I think that it shows that if you have the right partner in your life, even the most embarrassing moments can be turned around. I loved that Gill sang WITH her! In Abbey and Heath’s story it showed how cute if is when your partner tries to go to the extreme to impress you. And just a tad to be persistent guys in your pursuit. With Sarah and Billy’s story I think it show’s that you just never know a person until you’ve walked in their shoes. While it just isn’t possible to imitate this switch in real life, it makes you a little more aware when you can actually get a sense of what that person is feeling. The closest we have as humans to this is communication. Something sadly couples do not do sometimes! We have Cleo and Deuce, who show us that sometimes it’s not all about how much you spend to have a great time together. I actually really liked this one! And then Draculaura and Clawd’s story which was kind of similar. All Draculaura really needed to make the night perfect was Clawd. I liked the twist at the end that showed that even when things looked messed up, they have a way of working out at the end, because in the end all the couples were happy and that was all because of the events leading up to the dance. I actually just think Valentine is a bit confused. He’s kind of like the Purple Pie Man. He does this bad thing but he seems to fold when they offer him friendship. Same with Valentine. I loved the illustrations! Some of the ones I liked were I liked Iris’s date night look. (love her outfit, love her hair). Monster Cuddly Heath was adorably scary cute! I also liked “Dead Tired” Frankie’s illustration. Cleo and Nefera were gorgeously drawn! But over all they were all done stunningly! Rating: 7

I enjoyed reading stories about some of my favorite Ghouls who don’t get a lot of attention such as Invisi-Billy and Scarah, but the conclusion made no sense, why would Valentine think that doing all of those things would actually make people really happy? It seem like it caused everyone a lot of distress

We follow these teenage monsters as they have at least a few days to prepare for the Fraidy Hawkins dance that it rather takes the opposite way when the girls instead will try to invite the guys as their chosen partners. Unfortunately, this book isn't suitable for kids their age. Maybe when they reach around the age of 13 and above teenage years, they will totally get the high school melodrama and its jokes.

Cute book, love the characters and the couples in this story. Their shorts stories within the overall story. Simple good for younger children, just read it for a break from bigger books I'm reading.

I thought this book was clawsome, filled with Monster High romance on every page! It was a quick little read, since it's a comic book, but I really enjoyed it. I could not believe that Valentine was behind everything! And it was really weird that they brought him back. Although he was behind all the mystery things, at least it brought all the couples closer than ever before. Paperback graphic novel. There's a dance coming up and the girls need to ask the guys to join in. There are six separate stories: 1. Iris and Manny. Iris wants to ask Manny. Clumsiness settles the matter. 2. Lagoona and Gil. Add a charmed shell and lots of singing. 3. Abbey and Heath. Cute monster toys. Monster boy. Understanding Abbey. 4. Scarah and Invisi Billy. Gender change plus sleepover. 5. Cleo and Deuce. Objecting father. Lack of money. Video games. 6. Draculaura and Clawd. Clawd may be a no-s Paperback graphic novel. All the stories are really cute and fit well into the Monster High mythos.

I never liked Bratz, but Barbies and monsters were cool growing up: Monster High combines the two in a trendy, non-scary way for young readers. Although the dialogue was a bit simple and cheesy (and in some instances kind of clever), the illustrations, ideas, and self-esteem-building moments throughout the pages makes me want to recommend this series.

What happens when the Fraidy Hawkins Dance is coming up? It's full of mistakes and fumbling of couples or people who want to be couples. I love the mini stories that come together to tell about the events that lead up to the dance. My daughter is big on Monster high and we are enjoying finding books that she can read with my help. Now she wants us to read more graphic novels.
