The book is a like an encyclopedia of anecdotes that make you laugh, smile and think. :D A fun read and a book to carry with you all the time.

Witty, intelligent...pretentious? The concept of writing a book of aphorisms - little nuggets of wisdom that exist independently - is interesting, but while reading this I felt like I was being preached to, lectured at, and occasionally insulted. Sure, there were quite a few truthful, biting and clever statements . . . but so what? The only other aphorisms I've read are by Nietzsche. His legacy justified the form. No wonder they are out of fashion." – The Guardian "Dark insights into the human condition glitter around the edges of these aphorisms, but he clearly feels that few truths are so "It is – at its best, and most useful – a little book of unease. Some are witty, some provocative, some self-revelatory and touching to reach. A companionable little volume that brings fresh life to a venerable form." – Andrew Miller, author of Pure, winner of the 2011 Costa Prize
