This is a very different football biography, far more poetic in its writing that the many others I have read. Sol clearly deserves every bit of success as he has had more obstacles than most especially in his early life and followed up by racism and unwarranted homophobia. I hope he has now found contentment.

Written in a different style from the usual sporting biography, its a decent read, Sol is a more interesting character than most footballers, strong, opinionated, not in to the usual nonsense. Good to see things from Sol's perspective and understand how pathetic some of the hate he attracts is. Sol comes across well for me, I was impressed.

Interesting in parts but only because of the person it's based on. Written like a non fictional David Peace novel by the biographer with lots of detail in scenes and intersecting quotes from Sol. Interesting chapters on Notts County and his return to Arsenal. Once you've read it once that's it.

felt that this book was nothing special and not the best football biography out there and written a different way to the norm but felt just didn't work out in this format
