It is a wonderfull mix that freeze you in your place without moving the book from your hands to do anything else until it's over!!! And then, you want more!!! Allie is hiding away from the Kimmeria Academy because of Nathaniel's last attack who injured her and her friends very badly... Nathaniel won't stop until gets the power and Allie by his side... So the only solution for Lucinda and Isabel was to send her away!!! But nowhere is safe, so she returns back home... But everything had changed dramatically in the Academy... Most of the students are taken away and the school is full of guards... Everything is upside down in there... The place reminds Allie a prison!!! Everybody are hiding something and everyone is scared about who might be the traitor between them that provides informations from inside to Nathaniel... Old enemies suddenly become allies and Carter is treating towards Allie in a very strange and full of anger way!!! So now that she had returned she is trying to trained more hard for being able to fight against Nathaniel's people... They all cooperate to discover the traitor and to find a solution about how they can resist to... but Nathaniel is a clever and very sneaky bastard... He won't rest until take in his hands what he really wants... So the negotiations begins but Nathaniel request Allie's present and she can do anything else from accepting for the shake of the people that she loves... But her friends don't agree with her decision... So what will happened???? Their plan will work??? Or Nathaniel will take the upper hand??? As for the emotional part, Allie is torn between Carter and Sylvain... She's attracted to Sylvain, but her heart ache for her ex... She is trying so hard to persuade herself that when she and Carter look each other intense, it doesn't mean anything!!! Or when Carter is the only one who understand her and can calm her when she's having panic attacks!!!! Or when they touch each other accidentally!!! Hmmmm.... You haven't figure it out yet Allie???? That's the reason why she can not tell to Sylvain that she loves him... Because something else is blocking her heart!!! And that's Carter!!! But Carter is not anymore hers, he is with Jules!!!! And she is with Sylvain, right???? Did i tell you that i'm team Carter from the first moment??? Yeah, i am!!! And don't get me wrong... Sylvain is such a nice guy and he really loves Allie, but he is not the one for her... And he knows it too, but he prefers to fool himself.... I won't tell you how much i loved the declaration of love at the end... With who??? Mmmm.... I don't think appropriate to tell you!!!! But this confession was a wonderfull scene in the book, after so much fear, death and distraction.... But then everything went so wrong and now i'm really wondering how this amazing story will end up!!!!

The gang all made it back to the boarding school in this book, Allie deliberated over Sylvain and Carter, and didn’t really make a decision one way or the other, although we did get one unexpected death. This book felt pretty long though, I actually have earache from listening to this book all day, and I must have missed the ‘AWESOMENESS’ that everybody else seems to be going on about, because this was only okay for me. I mean a lot of this book just seemed to be Allie thinking about how dreamy Sylvain was, and every time I tried to switch from listening to reading I just got frustrated by the slow pace. "If she did love him, why couldn't she just say so? And why did she feel so empty when Carer walked away?" We did get a little bit of action at the end, but it was a long time coming, and then we got left with a cliff-hanger. 6 out of 10

The story has remind me of the first book, with all that action, mistery and love. More exactly, Resistance is for me a kind of mix between Night School and Legacy. For one hand, this book has the action and mystery that is characteristic of the first book; in the oder hand, there are parts that reminds me of Legacy such as the important of love in the story and some institute problems like Katie and allie talking about boys. This time, the story focus on parley with Nathaniel, and how are the sopposed to avoid the trap that is waiting for Lucinda and Allie if they agree to it; and the new type of training that Raj and the others instructors of Night School are making learn the members of it. Who the spy was didn't surprise me, because the author made me suspect of so many people, so it didn' surprise me. THE ROMANCE: Ok, I've loved the romance in these book. Even though Sylvain has never convinced me, I did enjoy the scenes between Allie and teh french boy, but my heart has always been, since the beginning, with Carter West. And I think that since the first book, Allie has loved Carter...I have the proof. In the first book, when Allie and Carter got together, she told him (I don't remember if this has happened one or twice): "I love you, Carter/ You are the only one". And when she is with Sylvain in the roof in this book, when he says to her "I love you since the first time I saw you", she can't say it in return, while she has already said it to Carter. She tries to hide it because Carter is with Jules and she is forcing her relationship with Sylvain. Even Sylvain is aware of her love to Carter. So, when I realised this, I started smiling because I knew Carter and Allie will end up together. In the two last chapters, they said the word and I loved it (I love it so mutch), but of course there was going to be a bad thing...and the bad thing is Carter beeing kidnapped or dead in Nathaniel's Guards hands. This broke (and breaks) my heart. "-Carter...I love you. -Oh, God. Allie, I love you too." "-Stay cool, Carter West. -Always." (In the first book) "-Keep breathing, Allie. -Always." (In the second book) "-Stay Safe, Allie. -Always. (In the fourth book) The "Always" thing makes my heart race. I just love this books. Defenetley one of the best book series that I've read in 2014 P. S: I'm still a Sylter shipper because Sylvain and Carter are very sexy together and, I don't know, I want a gay plot twist with these together in a happy couple (but I'm a loyal callie shipper)... just leave me with my fantasies...

Resistance is by far my favourite instalment in the Night School series so far, though Endgame could take that place in June. After the action packed ending of Fracture, I was not expecting Resistance to start so intense. From the get go we are thrust into the action, and the whole book is fast paced. In this book we finally discover who the spy at Cimmeria was, and I was very surprised by which person it was. As I said the action was greater in this book, and we've finally reached a stage where the end is in sight, but which side it will favour is still unknown. Personally, I like the uncertainty of it all, but the ending was so unexpected and sudden, that I'm not sure how I'll be able to wait until June to read Endgame. I've always been a member of Team Carter, and I've got to say this book was perfect for my team. I still like the Allie/Sylvain dynamic, but see them more as a brOTP than an OTP. Everyone should read this series, it has beautiful writing and plot!

4 stars It felt like coming home when I started reading this book. Coming home to many beloved friends. I really like Allie and her friends. But her friends didn't feel as close to me in this book as they did in the previous one. And Allie finally sorted out her boy-drama! At least I hope so. Can't wait to finish the series, because.....major cliffhanger!! And it breaks my heart... 4 stars It felt like coming home when I started reading this book. Coming home to many beloved friends. "Allie and Carter save the world." Oh my god this book. . . It filled me with pain, tears, joy, more tears. Did I mention tears? The ending signed my death sentence. spoilers So the book started off with Allie and Rachel in France, hiding from Nathaniel, and Sylvain was with them. I really didn't know what to feel about that, I guess I didn't mind as long as they were just friends. But of course it had to be something more when they returned to Cimmeria. I don't really care if what Sylvain did for "Allie and Carter save the world." Oh my god this book. . I don't really care if what Sylvain did for her birthday was cute, I still don't ship him with my baby girl. To be honest, I was so excited about the last couple of chapters that I didn't pay much attention to the all the shit that was going on at the beginning. But my son Carter was sad and I couldn't bear it at all, I only want him to be happy. Rachel started hanging out with Nicole more (ah, the first steps of their relationship) and we got to see more of Zoe. I would give anything to be part of their group. When the spy was identified everything was chaos. The bastard Jerry tried to escape and hit Zoe. HE ALMOST FUCKING KILLED HER. I really hate him. Then the parley was set up and everyone was so stressed about it and Sylvain had to go to France only two days before the meeting so my boy Carter took his place. Even Lucinda knew he was the right one to go with Allie and made him promise he would get her out there if anything happened, because she knew how much Carter loves Allie. So, the night of the parley finally came and Nathaniel played dirty (again) and someone got hurt (again) and someone died (again). Poor Lucinda.... But Carter kept his promise and got Allie out and they made it to the safe house and there everything changed. MY KIDS FINALLY, FINALLY SPILLED THEIR HEARTS OUT. "Carter. . .I love you." "Oh God, Allie, I love you too." I wish I was joking when I say I had tears in my eyes. And they had sex and it was all so beautiful and they can't live without each other... The last page...oh my God. Carter literally sacrifised himself so Allie could escape. He shoved her into the car and put himself in front of her to protect her from the dogs Nathaniel sent and he was all alone.... "But don't you see? He'll die. And if he dies. . . " .....my life is over. Now I understand what Jerry meant when he told Allie to take someone she really believes in. This was planned all along...I hate them all so much. Carter gas been though hell all his life. The first time he went to London was when his parents died and the second he got abducted. I will never understand the logic of hurting children to get what you want. . .

gorgeous. the cliffhanger is the deadliest thing that ever happened to me. Allie changes - becomes more powerful, more caring and more confused, mirroring and matching her age. Cimmeria changes, Carter changes, Sylvain changes. This book is what sets the series on fire. I loved every single part of it until the very end.

But she's an idiot. Carter was a pain in the ass. He's depressive and angry and never never happy. I didn't like him in book one, I still don't like him. Sylvain on the other hand is a nice guy, I guess. Sure he was a serious douchebag at the begining but now he's okay, even likeable. The spy thing is finally over and I can't even believe they didn't know before who it was. They're professionnals for fuck's sake. How can they not find the spy ??? We had like the biggest hint ever in book 2 AND ALLIE KNEW IT omfg. I told you she was an idiot. The love-triangle is also finally resolved. It was shitty from the start, and the end of it isn't good either. I'm not happy with it, but I guess I just want Allie sad and alone forever. One more book. It was tense, and I genuinely worried about the characters. and that ending. That was cruel. Some part of me saw it coming...but I'm still amazed that the author did that. Every single character has greatly developed from the first novel. Each novel Allie grows stronger but she also so conflicted and pained. As a reader, you can feel her hurt. The incredible writing portrays her character clearly in the novel and makes her easy to connect with. The romance has definitely heated up. And I'm glad a decision has finally been made, and I'm really happy with who she chose. Slightly predictable, but overall an endearing relationship. Now this paragraph is slightly spoilery Rachael and Nicole. That's so a thing. And I ship it. Now I know it hasn't been explicitly mentioned, but it's real and it's happening and I'm so friggen happy. And I will admit that I do peroanlly connect with Rachael we are so alike in many aspects, and I love that I can see a part of myself in this book. Daughtery nails another book. Her writing is definitely what makes the book. Now it's nothing remarkable, but it's what makes the novel so enjoyable. The pacing is perfect, capable of keeping any reader intrigued from start to finish. The descriptions and the characterization are wonderful, and that eerie atmosphere that cloaks the reader perfects the novel. Overall, this addition to the series was amazing and I loved every moment of it. With that ending, I'm literally dying to submerge myself into the next book. The final conclusion...I feel ready but I know I'm not...

Allie was just starting to be able to breath and have fun again till all hell breaks loose when Nathaniel's men finally caught up to them. Knowing that Allie can't be safe out in the real world, she and Rachel must once again be moved, but this time, they're going home.Back to Cimmeria Academy. Resistance, is the forth book in the Night School series and another kickass and addicting installment. I absolutely love these books, they have so much energy, intrigue and suspense. Even though we finally know what the mystery of what Night School is really about, Daugherty still gives us curious speculations, pulse pounding action and breath stopping romance. In this book, things are a lot more serious at the Academy. Security has been tripled at school and everyone is taking extra precautions, since the identity of the spy hasn't yet been revealed. Nigh School classes are still in full force and everyone is training harder then ever to be ready for what ever Nathanial brings. So while this book does have some slower moments in the pacing, I think it's necessary to the story to show the order of how things will play out but still has those hard-hit action packed scenes and intense revelations to keep it exciting and gripping. But what I love the most was that we get a pretty healthy dose of romance, which I'm so thankful for since we didn't get much in the last book. I love that Daugherty knows how to keep things interesting and consuming from the first page till that mean-ass evil cliffy of an ending. So much fun! I've grown to love these characters so much. Allie has come so far from the first time we meet her in Night School. She's strong, capable and feisty and even though she doesn't always do what she's suppose to, I adore her nerve and fight. However, while she may be physically altogether, her heart is in conflicting pieces. As for the rest of the Night School gang, I was happy to see that Sylvain, Cater, Rachel, Zoe and yes, even Katie were all together working as a united team. I love their chemistry, friendship and the way they have each others back. Sylvain, at one time, really felt incredibly in the way, but at last, I have to admit, I really treasured him in this installment. For some time now he's been Allie rock and someone kind, solid and dependable. I'm so glad that Daugherty made him so redeemable. As for Carter? Well, I'm still waving my flag, but I have to admit, for awhile there, he was still acting like a total moody ass. Thankfully he seemed to lighten up a lot throughout the book and it was good to see a glimpse of the guy who originally stole my heart. The romance is super sweet and surprising. And that's all I'm gonna say about that. I heart the way Daugherty handled things and can't help feel the bubble of anticipation to see how everything will play out. As for that ending? WOW! Is all I can say. There were definitely a lot of unexpected surprises thrown our way and once again I'm left with a twist in my stomach, an ache in my heart and another list of questions for the next book. Bottom line, I simply adore this series and I hate that we only have one book left. C.J Daugherty is such a fantastic writer and I simply can't express how much fun this escape has been for me. I'll be sad to see it go but at the same time I can.not.wait for the next book! Thrilling, remarkable, amazing!! LOVE!

Actual rating 4.5 Pre-reading notes Finally bought this today from my first proper paycheck! *_* Got it wrapped as a present for double the fun as well :) Post-reading Oh Night School. Not much left for me to say, is there - after all, this is book four in a beloved series of five so everything I could possibly say would be really spoilery and yeah, nothing new. Still continues to be one of my fav series ever, I love Cimmeria and reading about all the mystery and action, it's just so goooooood. Still continues to be one of my fav series ever, I love Cimmeria and reading about all the mystery and action, it's just so goooooood. Proud to say #TeamCarter all the way again. Sylvain is a cutie, but too smooth for my liking. (And please let's not forget what he was like in book one, that pretty much ruined him for me in a way haha; though I must say, C.J. Daugherty had me a bit unsteady about these two in book three but no, I am now deffo Team Carter.) And yeah, you just read an entire paragraph of me rambling about the love triangle here. You know what really, really, really bothered me about this particular book though? I bought the German translation, since I had started the series in German and guyzzz - the order on my bookshelf is a thing! Anyway, pretty early on I noticed there being a distinguishable change in tone and style, it wasn't translated in the vibrant and lovely and fluent way I knew of the three previous books. And then I checked and oh, no surprise: THEY CHANGED THE TRANSLATOR TEAM AROUND A BIT -.- WHYYYYYYYY. ARGH! I have stopped buying translations anyway (this was an exception due to the fact I had started the series in German, see above) and this incident has made me even firmer in that resolve. I mean come on! Pathetic bookish person that I tend to be sometimes I even wrote an email to the publishing house in Germany :D (And got a sweet response, but bro - that doesn't change my reading experience unfortunately) So lesson one I've learned (and needed to get off my chest in this space, so thanks for bearing with me): IF POSSIBLE, BUY THE ORIGINAL LANGUAGE. Wow, this review is a mess. But if you stuck around till here, I have something for you that you may or may not yet know about... Night School is starting a web series!!!! Link for the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvgXP... Gosh, I'm so glad I started reading this series right from the start, it makes me feel like a proud mother :D
