I was on Amazon, checking the reviews of a book that I'd recently read and noticed the first book, Back To War (Corps Justice), listed in the "other books bought" feed of the page. My main vice in the book world is military thrillers so, I jumped over to the page and noticed that the first three books were being offered in a box set. I decided to pick them up after reading the book descriptions. The review will cover all three books. My main vice in the book world is military thrillers so, I jumped over to the page and noticed that the first three books were being offered in a box set. I decided to pick them up after reading the book descriptions. The review will cover all three books. Book 1 - Back To War (Corps Justice) In this first book of the series we're introduced to Cal Stokes. Cal is a recently retired Marine taking a stroll with his fiancé around the streets of Nashville. Unknown to Cal, he and his fiancé have been marked and have become the prey of a ruthless drug gang looking for an easy mark. Forced into an alley to defend his fiancé, he soon realizes his mistake and finds himself surrounded. The ensuing fight will have resounding effects not only for Cal, the drug gang, but Cal's security company founded by his late father. Unintended consequences. The book is written in a blend of screenplay dialogue and normal paragraph formatting. At first I found the formatting to be distracting but it doesn't take long for the action to redirect your attention from the way it's written to what’s being written. I blew through this book in a day and a half. There isn't any attempt at a surprise plot line or misdirection tricks in this book. The plot line is obvious. What isn't obvious and what makes the story so enjoyable is seeing how Cal and the gang get there. While I enjoyed this book, had I bought it by itself I may have skipped the rest of the series, concerned that the formatting used in this book would have been carried through the rest of the books. I'm glad I bought the box set. I would have never know the great action that awaits. Book 2 - Council Of Patriots In this book we find Cal firmly ensconced in his security company and reunited with old friends and family. Cal's called back to home base from an Intel gathering mission by his cousin who’s been running the company since his father was killed. It was an odd request but then this was a meeting with the representative of a highly secret group of former politicians called the Council of Patriots. The son of a highly placed politician is being framed but no one knows why or what the blackmailers want so, Cal and his team are tasked to fly to Vegas (the scene of the crime) to see if they can smoke out the blackmailers and find out what the end goal is. If the blackmailers have their way the Empire of Japan will rise again. Fortunately this book is written in the standard format which made it a much more enjoyable read from the beginning. This book has a really good mystery hidden and you will be very surprised when the traitor is reviled and the scope of the plan is laid bare. We are introduced to some new characters in this book and one that is a life saver, literally, and another that could be a major asset in the future. There's plenty of action and twists to keep you glued to the pages. Throw in some cool tech toys and the Russian mob and you'll be hard pressed to put the book down. The book ends on a bit of a cliff hanger which normally I hate but since I already had the next book I didn't feel the need to email the author to lodge a complaint :-) Book 3 - Prime Asset In this, the final book of the set, Cal and the team are off to locate their kidnapped friend and employee. An employee so valuable that it could not only crush Stoke's Security but have disastrous consequences for many companies as well as the government. The return of two old enemies, united together for a common goal that serves their need for revenge, will put Cal and his team in mortal peril. If that wasn't enough, they're in the remote wilds of Wyoming, cut off from support by a traitor, facing an impending snow storm, scrambling for clues to locate their missing brother, and oh ya, there are bears in those there mountains! It took me less than a day to read this book. Once I started it, I couldn't stop. It's packed with action and mystery with multiple plot threads running to keep Cal and the group from finding their lost comrade. This book and the series in general, tick off many of the boxes I look for in a book. Military/spy thriller. Packed with action. Good cast of characters. self-contained. I dislike series that are either spread out over several books or need to have a reoccurring bad guy that always seems to beat the odds and escape to come back time and time again. These books are all self-contained so while you get the best experience by reading them in order to learn the characters and their motivations, you could pick any one of them and read it with enjoyment and not feel so lost that the book falls flat. Do yourself a favor and pick up this box set and get ready for some sleepless nights and a constant spike of adrenaline.

Not the best writing, but I enjoyed the first book enough I will continue the series, at least through the 2nd book. Just finished 2nd book. The story was still entertaining, but the grammatical error! There were words completely missing from sentences which would have made those sentences clearly understood without necessitating multiple reads. Also, I understand that many people say "me and Daniel", which is totally incorrect, but not EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER!??? Good Action, Adventure Series! I loved the camaraderie between the group. It didn't matter what military group they came from, they all formed a tightly knit group of friends and comrades, with a great sense of extended family, and all working as a precision team for a common cause. Of course, that means that they also had fabulous storylines, that kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next confrontation, or escape. Great bad guys too...they were half of the storyline--you can't have a fantastic winning, hooray moment, without some incredibly crafty, smart, evil bad guys that you want to see get the justice that's coming to them.

Overall this set is 5 stars. This box set includes books one to three in The Corps Justice series (Back To War, Council of Patriots, and Prime Asset). Great series, but---- I would give these three books five stars for writing, characterization, description and bringing the books to real life. I won't go on about the excellence of these books because I am sure many other reviewers have already done this. I did not give the books A five star rating because it was clear in Mr Cooper's second book what his political leanings are. These are not political books, thus politics should be left out of the books. This said, I'm off to read Book Four. 'Corps Justice Boxed Set: Books 1-3' really took me by surprise. I wasn't sure how I was going to like another military based style novel. I was quite pleased to find that the books absolutely intrigued me and left me wanting more. 'Back to War', 'Council of Patriots' and 'Prime Asset' surpassed my expectations. The third book was decent, but the editors must have been in a hurry due to the outrageous number of typos, usage, and punctuation errors that I tried to report (using my Kindle) but I was finally worn down and just ignored the rest so I could finish. Good adventure series. Books are independent but can be read as a single story. The main challenge for each book is focused but the characters continue as if one longer story. This book/series just did not jive with me... to the extent where I lost all desire to finish it. I made it through the first book and most of the 2nd. However, it just lacked that allure that captivates me. I struggled to relate with any of the characters & often found myself cringing at the "comic" remarks very much military in nature. If you have served or are close to someone who has, perhaps this writing style will be more your flavor... for me, not so much. Very entertaining! After receiving a free copy of God-Speed from Mr. Cooper’s website, I ended up purchasing the first three novels of the Corps Justice series. From the first book “Back to War”, The short story made more sense who the father was. This isn’t really a review, but I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys this genre. I look forward to reading the entire series.

Lots of intrigue building to solid ends to every book. Solid insight to the warrior's code and deadly skills, plus their emptiness after leaving service to their country. Just added C.G. Corps Justice It was interesting and good. My husband was in the Army and I understand quite a bit. My dad was a marine and I think he would've joined the SSI team if he would've been asked. I was sad when Brian died. I didn't want him too! I like Cal and Trav. I hope nothing happens to them. I can't wait to read the next book. Corps Justice It was interesting and good. Totally love this series These books were unbelievable. I love the military. My father was in the navy during World War Two. He told me how it was more like family in the service. My dad came home but he went to every reunion that he could make before he died. We have all his medals. I wonder if there was a company like SSI.
