Finding love in a dangerous time. I was so excited for this book release and after finally getting to read it I was not disappointed. With sexy Scotsmen and exciting time travel who couldn't fall in love with "The Laird's Future Bride" The world of supernaturals in old Scotland is well thought out and very intriguing. I liked the idea of their being a safe place for those with supernatural abilities to come and stay without fear. There is a lot of potential for this series and I can't wait to see Finding love in a dangerous time. I liked the idea of their being a safe place for those with supernatural abilities to come and stay without fear. There is a lot of potential for this series and I can't wait to see where the MacLeod's will end up next. The characters had a lot of personality and really made an impact on me. Holly is a lovely young woman who was just looking to have a good time until she is unwittingly thrust back hundreds of years into the past and into the arms of her one true love. She doesn't just fall right into his arms though. Instead she fights to find a way back home which I liked. However, the longer she stays with Duncan the more she comes to adore him and eventually love him (even if she doesn't admit it). There were a lot of obstacles for both of them, which was understandable since their world's were so completely different. I loved seeing them get to know each other and learn to compromise and make their marriage work. Duncan is a strong willed laird that is not used to being questioned, but from the moment he laid eyes on Holly he was hooked. Now he is dealing with a woman who can be just as stubborn as him and he is loving every minute of it. I really enjoyed reading about Duncan and it was easy to see how Holly could fall under his spell. He is intriguing and irresistible even if he can be a stubborn mule sometimes. The next character I grew to love was Callam. He was the charmer of the family, but unfortunately for him he grew to love Holly who was not meant for him. It really broke my heart, but I hope he finds someone to love just as Holly and Duncan did. Hopefully we can see what happens in the next MacLeod book! This is an exciting and sexy romance that you will not want to put down. So for all you Scotsmen lover's out there check out "The Laird's Future Bride"! A special thanks to the author who provided this book to me in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much Hazel Gower you are an amazing author and I love your books!

Loved this one. Imagine, if you will, being stranded in the past and finding yourself married to a Scottish laird. It makes for interesting reading, I tell you. The epilogue had me grinning like a fool, and I'm looking forward to the next one in the series.

not horrible Well it gets better, but the first quarter of this book seemed to be written by a different author. Perhaps the beginning was drafted very early on in her writing. The grammar is poor, the dialogue stilted and characters not well done. At times I wanted to whip out my red pencil and start making corrections in the margins. That said, I was ready to put the book away, and it shifted. The author needs to learn more about the time period, especially the proper use of "keen". Also helpful would be lessons in maintaining tense and voice.

I liked this one. This is the first book I read from this author, and I enjoyed her writing style. It had a good flow--was easy to follow, entertaining characters--possessive alpha male, likable heroine. I would consider it spicy, but I would put it on the "sweet" side. It had some suspense--the heroine doesn't seem to grasp the concept that living in medieval times means a female must be more careful--and she seems to get in a lot of trouble. Conflict between the H and h tended to get rectified I liked this one. This is the first book I read from this author, and I enjoyed her writing style. Looking forward to reading the next book!

Holly was transported back in time by a witch where she meets Duncan the Laird of the MacLeod clan. Duncan and Holly has feelings for one another however Duncan has fears that she has feelings for Callum his brother who would very much like to claim her for himself! Then add his hears of her not fitting in his time period and worried she would like to go home makes for one interesting story! Excellent Job Hazel Gower! I'm looking forward to Callum's story! It's not my first journey with this author. I enjoyed her books before. So, when I saw this one, it was no question if I gonna read it. I'm not really picky in my genres. Though I have to confess, I really didn't think I would enjoy it so much. It was really entertaining to 'watch', how two different people, from different countries fit each other. Yes, there was some disagreement between Duncan and Holly, but that was understandable. At the present, women are more independent and free minded. So, Holly needed to go in some compromises. Duncan needed to do that, too. But being a stubborn male and settled in his own way, and not beying used to answer for his actions to anyone...Well, for him it took for a while to get it in his tough head. But at least it was fun to 'watch' it. I loved the way Duncan was with Holly. So, loving and protective. Though sometimes it was to much of his historical behavior, even though you can understand why he acted the way he did. And I really loved Holly. OMG! The girl was so sassy. I loved that she so could stand for herself and Holly didn't let anyone to crush her spirit. Even in unknown place, where everyone is living by different rules, she was able to keep true to herself. Holly was a perfect match for Duncan. It was really enjoyable. And I so can't wait for Callams story next. He so deserves to meet his own soul mate after his misplaced and unrequired love for... Well, you will have to find out everything for yourself. ;)

While this time-travel/historical romance did not make my favorites shelf it was, nonetheles, an evening well spent traveling thru time to medieval Scotland and experiencing life for a young woman as seen thru the eyes of a 20-the century gal. This was an easy enough book to read but it wasn't particularly detailed. It seemed to be a pretty stock standard time travel romance and while the characters were likeable enough there wasn't enough development to truly know them or their Scottish surrounds. We could have a couple of word changes and Holly could have been in any time since there was very little historical detail to build the world we were reading about. As a result we have a nice enough book but not at all memorable. This was an easy enough book to read but it wasn't particularly detailed. I came across this in my Amazon reccomendations and decided to give it a shot. It was a pretty good read. If you are looking for a quick time-travel read then this is probably a good choice for you. The story was pretty good but I felt it was a little bit cheesy at times. I will probably read book 2 just because I want to know if the other brother gets his HEA.
