Second part in Don Glut's update of the Frankenstein myth. Wonderful pulp fiction including a group of deformed super villains called OGRE intent on destroying all things beautiful and making the monster one of their agents. The finale includes the monster battling a robotic counterpart. Fast paced and fun. Need to get the other parts now. Second part in Don Glut's update of the Frankenstein myth. Slightly better than the first one which admittedly isn't saying much, this has one of those insane terrorist organisations that always seem to have an endless series of guards willing to die for an ideal, in this case the ideal is that all beauty must be killed because they are all so ugly, which is taking low self esteem to new levels I mean when you have to kill a famous actor because he is more attractive than you possibly you might have to reconsider your life choices, and possibly check ou Slightly better than the first one which admittedly isn't saying much, this has one of those insane terrorist organisations that always seem to have an endless series of guards willing to die for an ideal, in this case the ideal is that all beauty must be killed because they are all so ugly, which is taking low self esteem to new levels I mean when you have to kill a famous actor because he is more attractive than you possibly you might have to reconsider your life choices, and possibly check out plastic surgeons. Also you should consider that if you sold the rights to make the Flying Saucer you invented to governments around the world with the billions you make you can afford some self esteem and find someone to love or at least fake it for jewellery.

This, the second of the series, is even more pulpy than the first, and reads like something that could have been published in any of the “boys’ story papers” a century ago. The writing is amateurish, characterisation is wafer thin, and the juvenile plot is laughable, yet there’s a good deal of madcap fun amid the silliness, and the novel is short enough to get away with its crimes against literature. We have a James Bond-style fiendish organisation named OGRE out to eliminate beauty from the world, a robot built to fight Frankenstein’s monster, and the monster itself … so dial your brain down to 0.01 and enjoy the ride.
