Nice to see this initial tournament arc finally wrap up, with as drawn-out and off-the-wall as Goku's match against "Jackie Chun" was! All things considered, it was equal parts engaging and just ridiculous, all in a fun way. I'd forgotten how quickly after the tournament however that the next major saga kicks off, as Goku apparently hops right on the Flying Nimbus and sets off in search of the four-star dragon ball. Not what I'd necessarily call the smoothest plot transition, but given Goku's imp Nice to see this initial tournament arc finally wrap up, with as drawn-out and off-the-wall as Goku's match against "Jackie Chun" was! I'd forgotten how quickly after the tournament however that the next major saga kicks off, as Goku apparently hops right on the Flying Nimbus and sets off in search of the four-star dragon ball. Not what I'd necessarily call the smoothest plot transition, but given Goku's impulsive nature, it's fitting enough. From this point on, we're going right into the saga of the Red Ribbon Army, which is the saga I think I was the least invested in, in the anime when I watched as a kid. Getting to read it as an adult is already going to be a bit different and possibly a challenge for me as well. I can't ever recall that I was able to suspend my disbelief by any measure with this saga, so this might be an exercise in that. Regardless, these initial chapters we do get that introduce us to the Red Ribbon Army are plenty fun in their own right, if a little fast-paced.

The world martial arts tournament arc climax was greatly written and enjoyable, the swiftness the next arc begins is great, no waiting around for fillers. The next arc, red ribbon army, cant wait it's such a thrilling arc along with some interesting characters to say the least 🐑 The world martial arts tournament arc climax was greatly written and enjoyable, the swiftness the next arc begins is great, no waiting around for fillers.
