I love how the patients were described with empathy, not scary and just plain crazy such as other books I have read have done. I felt the worry the narrator felt and could picture being there. Great read.

Good & Evil Good read, that is true in majority of our countries health facilities. Sometime the evil is the so called care givers...the quality of care in these facilities should not be excused due to what the dollar amount care givers are paid. Most of these types of human warehouses for mental or the elderly do not background check or drug check their employees.

I would have given this a five but The writing, the details, and the story are wonderful and delightful to read. However, there are many, many random capital A's, B's and even beta symbols that obviously don't belong and detract from the flow of the book. Please correct these errors, and the book is perfect. Exposing the women of ocean ward. I chose 4 stars because it was great but at times there was confusion trying to keep the people straight. Overall great books with my insight to our past but also how far we've come with helping disabled. Exposing the women of ocean ward. Great book. Interesting take on the mental health system from a patient point of view. Definitely worth reading. I plan on reading more of her books.

A book I am happy I read The author did a wonderful job portraying mental illness as a genuine true illness rather than the stereotyped assumptions most people talk about in general broadens. I really connected to these women and genuinely wish I knew how they are doing today. You also gave me a new hope and renewed strength to fight my own struggles with anxiety and severe depression. You opened my mind to a new train of thought to which I am very thankful for

A good read Being a sufferer of mental illness, this was a wonderfully written account of what many patients go through on their journey to finding some semblance of normalcy. It also detailed abuse that is unfortunately, an occurrence that all too often goes hand in hand with mentally ill patients who are institutionalised. I feel that most readers will enjoy reading this novel, I know that I did.

Excellent An amazing story of one patients stay in a state mental institution. She was not insane. Her journey to release is carefully detailed. Congratulations to the author on her success!

Summary Though told directly, not written with any specific style or warmth. Fact biased tale of recovery, helping others that served to help herself as well.
