The first book in this action-packed new series by Misty Evans pulled me in quickly and the pace continued until about mid-way and then lost some of its impact. As far as the crime and suspense goes, this story was charged with enough gusto to keep readers glued to their chair. The romance, however, felt forced and incomplete. Although there were some good lines and some sizzle, I didn't feel a real connection -- or a forever and ever lasting love. Frankly, I didn't connect with either the hero or heroine.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. The overall story and mystery are good. I was really guessing until the very end as to who the killer was. I was confused in the beginning of the book and I felt as if I'd jumped into the middle of something and needed to catch up. The romance of Grey and Sydney moved pretty fast. While I admire a spunky heroine like Sydney, I was a little turned off by how aggressive she was sexually toward Grey in the beginning. Eventually though, the romance mellowed out and grey's protective streak was sweet. Overall, a good romantic suspense read.

Interesting Hate to say it but I say the twist coming in this one but I did enjoy the story. The fact that a former FBI agent Justice got the mystery job offer at the end intrigued me to want to read more in the series. I hope that Grey and Sydney are involved in the rest of the series along with Morgan. Would be interesting if Donaldson reappears too. Excited to read more.

Stealing Justice is a fantastic high-octane romantic suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed it for many reasons but the biggest reason is the heroine. My Review: This turned out to be the start to what I think is going to be a great series. I'll admit to some doubts early on when I wasn't absolutely in love with the heroine. She's a straightforward girl who doesn't think twice about going after what she wants and that is Grey, but sometimes she seems almost a little too harsh. But by the 30% point in the book, those feelings began to shift as I got to know her better and why she was the way that she was. But by the 30% point in the book, those feelings began to shift as I got to know her better and why she was the way that she was. She has very good reasons for why she's this way...her life hasn't been easy and all her life choices are based on those hardships. She's one tough girl and I slowly but definitely fell in love with her character and her spunk. And I loved the way that she and Grey were the PERFECT match for each other. See, Grey is just as crazy and messed up as Syd. He just tends to hide it better. But they "get" each other. He stole my heart as he brought her box after box of decadent cupcakes. Seriously, how can you not love a guy who brings little frosted cakes when she's stressed? Between the cupcakes and his absolute loyalty to his on-the-run former partner. *sigh* This guy made my heart melt and then by the time the angry sex rolled around I was a puddle every time he was on the page. I loved this character. So sweet. So committed. Such a perfect match for Syd. Overall this was a great book. Both characters had a great backstory which played heavily into the actions of this book and the way the characters have developed. Everything from Syd's mother to Grey's constant battle with the SAC and the FBI, I loved. Monroe, Grey's former partner, stole the page every time he appeared on it. I can't wait for his story. The suspense line was probably the weakest part of the story just because it didn't feel all that suspenseful to me. But the danger was definitely there and the tension for both Grey and Syd. I've been a fan of Adrienne Giordano for a while and I'll admit that this is my first book by Misty Evans although I have a couple of her books in my TBR. This is a good partnership. I look forward to reading more from the two of them and both of them writing together. I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Grey tracks down the source of escorts to an abused women’s shelter and the woman running it, Sydney Banfield, a woman who doesn’t hesitate to go outside the lines to smuggle her women to safety. She is shocked to find a killer’s trail leads to her doorstep and agrees to go undercover to help catch the killer. This book had humor, suspense, sexual tension and very high heat. It was fast paced, well plotted and great characters. I was hooked on page 1 and never stopped until the end. I often find myself figuring out the killer long before the end, but there were several plot twists and turns that kept me guessing, which I loved!

Full of heat, intrigue, and danger, this was a great story that kept me turning pages. Misty Evans is now on my must read list.

I really enjoyed this book. Syd, and Grey pulled me right into the story line. This book was full of suspense, a murder plot, romance, with lots of heat. Oh and cupcakes. What girl does not enjoy cupcakes? I loved the way Syd always called Grey, Fed boy. The banter between the two was entertaining and fun. Syd worked for a woman’s shelter. Grey was a likable character though his little obsession with guilt and his sister’s murder were a bit much at times. To me he pulled off the right amount of alpha, a bit too much at first, but he learned from his mistakes. I liked the both of them together and thought they made a great team especially after they worked out the kinks they had when it came to learning each other’s weaknesses and strengths. I thought the premise/storyline was pretty unique and the only issue I had was that, for me anyway, the bad guy was a bit easy to pick out from the cast of characters. It could be that there weren’t a lot of characters to pick from or that I have read way too many books in this genre. I’ve not read too many books set in D.C. so it still has the “shiny” new to me feel to it so that upped my enjoyment of the story some. I enjoyed the book and find the promise of a new series intriguing, but it didn’t get too tight a hold on me to go out looking for the next book.

The suspense, intrigue, and the dirty secrets of D.C. politicians were more compelling than the somewhat forced romance between Justice Greystone (Grey) and Sydney. This book does a good job of setting up Grey’s new career (and Series) as the leader of a black-op operation fighting for justice and the America people. The readers are also introduced to Mitch Monroe, Grey’s ex-FBI buddy that currently is on the run from the authorities. You can already tell Mitch’s character brings the much needed humor into Grey’s life. I am sure these two loyal friends with their unorthodox methods, will be restoring justice in numerous thrilling ways as this Series continues— a Series I am looking forward to reading. Over-all 3.75.

Enjoyable At first I was struggling a bit with this book because as much as I like a strong heroine, Sydney was almost too much even with the explanations as to why. Stealing Justice Really liked this book. The plot and “who done it” were not hard to follow but were enjoyable. I liked both alpha characters doing their best to fight crime and protecting innocents. Even though each character had personal doubts of their abilities because of basically losing a loved one to rape crime, they, both as individuals and as a partnership, keep working for justice. I look forward to reading the next books in this series.

Charming, scary, gorgeous female escorts, FBI and battered women all and more rolled into this story. Syd and Grey make an interesting often daring couple often disagreeing with each other about how to proceed without getting hurt.

This book just dove right into the suspense. Sydney’s personality and humor were awesome. Her and Grey together worked and worked well, really enjoyed this book. The job offer at the ending surprised me and now I can’t wait to read the next book.
