I love these books. I first read them when I was 13/14 years old and re-read them again last year not long after my 19th birthday and fell in love with them all over again. The story drew me in from the very first page and kept me hanging on until the very last page. These books are aimed at young children but I really think they should be read by people of all ages and not enough people know about these books. I honestly can't put into words how good these books are, people should just go and try I love these books. The kindle box set containing all 6 books in this middle grade fantasy series is currently only £3.99 on amazon. Not sure what the usual price is but that seems like a bargain to me!

(Review/Write-Up can be found at PewterWolf) SPIRIT WALKER - I didn't love this as much as I loved WOLF BROTHER, but this is so much darker in tone. I'll be intrigued to see where this series goes next. Review can be found at The Pewter Wolf as part of #Believathon 2019. SOUL EATER - Not sure if I will review this on Pewter Wolf, as you guys warned me this was the darkest in the series and you weren't kidding about. I wasn't sure at the start if I liked where it was going but then, the second half, my stomach tensed every time I picked it up as I was scared for the characters! Intrigued to see where Outcast goes... Might merge this and Outcast reviews into one post in November/December 2020... OUTCAST - Will do tiny write-up on Pewter Wolf in 2021, and while not as dark as SOUL EATER (flipping heck, that was dark!), this was chaotic! Torak is casted out of the clans, get sick and all the while, dark forces are trying to get Torak alone with no friends, no family and no Wolf... there were one or two times I read this one and went "Oh, not sure I like this direction" but I get why this book had to take this sharp turn. Intrigued to see where it goes next, but not my fave out of the series.

1000/10 This story is my childhood. I read every single one of these books at least 5 times and it is a story I resonated with so deeply as a child, and even now. I am definitely planning to re-read the series another time, and revisit.

Read these because I heard her on Woman's Hour and she sounded as though she took her research really seriously and did some amazing stuff to bring 'reality' to her settings (living with wolves, diving in the far north with whales, living with North American tribes etc). She succeeded - they are absolutely fantastic, and my stepson (aged about 10 at the time) was also hooked. Wonderful central character, and very believable scenario (somehow - mystic neolithic!); Torak has to deal with some hard Read these because I heard her on Woman's Hour and she sounded as though she took her research really seriously and did some amazing stuff to bring 'reality' to her settings (living with wolves, diving in the far north with whales, living with North American tribes etc). Wonderful central character, and very believable scenario (somehow - mystic neolithic!); Torak has to deal with some hard choices, and though he's not always sympathetic, you feel with him. I found some of the sequels a bit slowgoing in places, but Callum disagrees.

I read this series when I was younger, and now reread it again this year, because I wanted to recommend it to my younger siblings, but needed to check it was appropriate first (although it turns out book one is on their curriculum now!!! I'm so glad). Still, as a teenager, I think this is an absolutely thrilling series, drawing you in from the start, and keeping you there with honestly terrifying villains and plucky protagonists. It does have a few more scary parts than I recalled, so I would say I will recommend this to children aged around 9-14, but it is still my favourite kids series to date. I haven't yet read Viper's Daughter, but I mean to as soon as I get my hands on it. I hope it lives up to its predecessors!

Chronicles of ancient Darkness "Everyone has evil in them, some choose to feed it others choose to lock it away somewhere deep inside their minds.” This is a series. It’s about a boy named Torak . the book tells about his adventures with Renn, Bale, Finn Keddinn, and most importantly, Wolf. I still haven’t finished all 6 books but it still is an amazing series. In each book Torak has a challenge he must fulfill for the good of the community. lets just say a destiny. in everyone of the books, Wo Chronicles of ancient Darkness "Everyone has evil in them, some choose to feed it others choose to lock it away somewhere deep inside their minds.” This is a series. My favorite part of the series is when Torak finds Wolf. I like this part because Toraks dad just died and it gave Torak someone to care for. I give this series 4 1/2 stars because it has a lot of adventure and suspense. If you like books about animals, you should read ‘ the chronicles of ancient darkness.’

I absolutely loved this series. Whether it be from my love of prehistoric times, or the use of animal perspectives, I don't know. I started reading this soon after it came out. Truthfully it was a funny story. I was looking for new books, and came across Ghost Hunter, the last in this series. And I brought it, only to later realize it was the last of 6 books. I had begun reading it nevertheless to see if I liked the authors writing. And I did. The story intrigued me, and so in the following week I absolutely loved this series. It took me 3 months to read it, and I have read them over 5 times since They are excellent stories, and the atmosphere created is amazingly laid out. Throughout the series it hints to what may happen in the future of the series, from book 1 to book 6. It develops the characters in a way you build to love them

The first book in this series is the first book my son ever loved - I mean L-O-V-E-D! He isn't a big reader so these books were an amazing find. I finally read it as a way to reward myself for finishing a degree that dragged on way too long - totally demolishing my ability to spend time reading anything fun. I was amazed - I couldn't put it down - I read all of them within a week. There were a few scenes that I thought weren't dramatic enough for the amount of suspense that had been built. But I can still give these books the highest rating because of the overall craftsmanship in writing - the obvious research that went into understanding the clans and cultures of pre-history - and the ease of loosing yourself into their world. Great!

This was probably a book that I read when I was a little too young to fully understand at the time, and I've often wanted to re-read it but haven't had the time yet. I picked it up when exploring the 'teen' section at my library and it purely caught my eye because it had the word 'wolf' in the title (ah, life was simpler back then). For something that picked up on such a small whim, it's really affected my life and I've enjoyed reading it so much. I love fantasy and action books and this was the best. I read at 11 and then read it whenever I could. The story is sweet. It can be scary and it made me cry sometimes too. I recommend this book series to all those who like book series with an air of fantasy to it and also mystery. I know the book is mainly aimed at young children, but I still love reading it at 17.
