Catherine is investigating the murder of her friend Julie and it literally opens up a can of worms. The story has doses of everything. Mystery, interesting characters and some twists and turns all till the end.

This is a story of a young beautiful socialite that takes a beading class. An acquaintance, Catherine performs CPR but to no avail, when Julie arriving late to the class, collapses. I found this book a bit grating. While the story was well done and the topic interesting and loose ends tied up well, it was annoying that, Manny, Catherine, Julie, and everyone else in the book was absolutely beautiful or stunningly handsome. Where the heck are the normal people? There were no flaws in anyone in the story but the bad guy.

This murder mystery involves a beautiful widow, two law officers, a 16 year old girl and a really wicked man. When Catherine's friend, Julie, is murdered, Catherine sets out to help with the investigation. High finance, crooked bidding and illegal immigrant employees all play a part in this story. I greatly enjoyed this mystery and look forward to Mary Jane's next work.

This was a fun read and very well done (as usual) by Ms. Forbes. The outcome was predictable but that did not negate my enjoyment in the least. See what never being pleased with the results of one's foolish decisions can do to upset the apple cart (so to speak). A lesson to be learned if one takes it in that manner.

Excellent new series This book has it all; little bit of romance, some forbidden lust, competition and greed and of course the who-dun-it mystery portion and Peaches. Excellent story line, excellent build up of characters and a very satisfactory conclusion. Must read!

What a good mystery! I own a bead shop, I bead, and I teach beading. Therefore, this book was a ‘natural’ for me. I liked the story, and the wonderfully descriptive writing style that kept me reading.

Disjointed I found the story to be disjointed and disappointing which caused me to put it down then pick it up several times because I hate to leave a book unfinished. I finally finished but only became more irritated as I read.

A good story line tells the tale of a socialite's murder while at a beading class. Homeland security and police play a role in in the roller-coaster of murder, kidnapping and blackmail. However the star have to be.....Peaches the ex military dog!!
