Hannah is thrilled when she earns a spot on her school's dance team, but she knows she'll have to work extra hard if she wants a solo. I'm reading through this series and as a general rule they are well written if a little predictable. I would recommend them as a 1st to 2nd grade reading level. Most of the other books in the series I have given 4 stars, but for some reason I didn't enjoy this one as much. However, if I had a 2nd grade girl come to me looking for a book about dance I would definitely steer her in the direction of this book. Hannah and her best friend Caitlin are thrilled when they make the school dance team. Dancing seems to come naturally for Caitlin while Hannah spends hours practicing the moves and routines at home. But Caitlin seems to prefer hanging out at the mall or with her crush, Connor, and she gets angry when Hannah chooses to practice instead of coming to Connor's house. Although the story is predictable and Hannah's dancing skills improve faster than can be believed, I still enjoyed the story since it Hannah and her best friend Caitlin are thrilled when they make the school dance team. Sometimes making a choice such as Hannah faces isn't easy at all.
