Finally, read the Bible through within a year. 2019. Huge accomplishment for me.

Have you read the Bible all the way through? I was a Christian for many years before I finally read it from cover to cover for the first time. And I wondered why in the world it had taken me so long to do. Now, I can officially say I've lost track of how many times I've read it all from cover to cover. Reading it and seeing the bigger perspective gives you a whole different insight than studying a verse or chapter (which is a good thing, of course). So here's my challenge to you: if you haven't already, read it all the way through. Even just one chapter a day will get you there eventually. Or you can read 10 chapters every weekday and get through it in 6 months. But as you read and ask God to speak His truth into your heart, you'll learn a whole lot.

I love this study Bible so much. My parents gave it to me as a Christmas gift a few years ago. They chose it carefully, the commentaries and good. There are several maps, historical and character notes, the concordance is really nice too. It is rather large because of the amount of study notes and tables included (typically a little less than the bottom half of every page), which makes it a little clumsy to carry around to church and such, but I wouldn't trade it. Just reviewed for a few minuts I am so excited to begin to study this bible. I need to spend more time to identify all the avenues of navigation but common sense has helped me identify some of the quick paths to my searches. I believe my commitment to spend more time in God's word will be so much more rewarding using this efficient tool. Just reviewed for a few minuts I am so excited to begin to study this bible. This is not a review of the Bible. After all, what right can I possibly have to review the Bible? No, the way this really works is that I let the Bible review me. How deeply am I hiding it in my heart? How closely am I following its precepts? Unfortunately, there is no way that I could rate myself anywhere close to 5 stars. Yes, I am growing, but I've still got a long ways to go. This is now my 66th time reading the Bible through cover to cover. Each time I find that there is more to learn. I enjoy reading God's Word. I read through it twice in a year, in addition to my daily bible studies. My goal is to finish it 3 times this year. Undertook a challenge to read the Holy Bible in one year. Our pastor provided a reading schedule that had us reading chapters from both the Old and New Testaments ( Psalms and Proverbs rather then New Testament on the weekends. Take a closer look. The new edition is easy to read, but I find that it is not as accurate as the first two editions. By "accurate" I mean that it is written in such a way that the reader can draw conclusions that are not made available in the older translations. In their effort to make the bible contemporary, the interpreters have sacrificed accuracy. Take a closer look. My goal was to read over the year and I went a bit over (4 months!). But the goal is also to not just read, but absorb the word. This is my third time reading the Bible through. I am now ready for a study.

Great, helpful, informative study included. If you want to read the Bible but don't understand much of it you really will not get the full benefit without additional information beyond the scriptures. I prefer the NIV translation for most of my reading. I also think in addition the MSG translation can help expand ones understanding of particularly challenging scriptures. I'm no Christian, but this was a great introduction to the Bible for me. The illustrations, explanations, and NIV translation in general made this easily understandable. I feel that I can understand more about the beliefs of Christians in general. It's a really beautiful book with eye-catching illustrations and goes very much into depth over some of the translations. A bit hard on the eyes, though. I thought the entire bible was great. I loved using the color in it, and the pictures were great. The bible notes were having you jump sll over the bible, but all the other ones do to. The only negative I found in the book was the size. I was thinking the large print would help me because my eyes are getting bad. It is way too big to carry to church. However when you study it at home it makes that point wonderful I would buy it again but probably the smaller verison.

I really enjoyed reading the bible in every day language. It was very easy to read and visualize what was happening. The only thing I felt that some of the comments about the scriptures were weak and often times no comment at all.

Returning this for the HCSB Study Bible. Almost every single note in the book makes your refer to a different note which makes you refer to another 2-3 notes. Spend more time flipping pages then learning. Not so with HSCB Study Bible.

How can you not give the BIBLE 5 stars? It's on my list because it's on my kindle. I don't profess to be a theologian. How can you not give the BIBLE 5 stars? It's on my list because it's on my kindle. I don't profess to be a theologian.
