This charming, yet brutal saga will chill and surprise you as it foretells the selfishly destructive path man has followed since his species evolved. It pulls no punches while allowing Netty and Baby's influence to transcend mortal life as the world dances toward depraved indifference, introducing other characters along the ride that readers will laugh and shed tears with, and learn to despise. "Baby" introduces Netty, a naive teenage farm girl given in marriage to an older brutal opportunist disguised as a successful citizen during the years of Prohibition in Sussex County, New Jersey. After years of enslavement, Netty flees into the night from her rapist and bootlegger husband, traveling back to the farm worked by her parents, where she rescues an unfamiliar damaged creature she finds in a cave in the woods of her childhood, falling in love with the enigmatic alien she names Baby. Together they find happiness and fulfillment despite the changes to Netty's body wrought by the proximity of the unusual creature. Damaged by entry into our atmosphere while pregnant, the confused creature forgets the purpose of his mission, appearing unconcerned with the disappearance of his offspring and savoring the unexpected joy of the love he shares with young Netty. When a handsome Italian stranger comes into Netty's life, complications ensue as she falls in love while trying to hide the bizarre and wondrous changes to her farm and her body. Netty, Baby and Wil strive to conquer obstacles thrown in their path by life, succeeding wildly until the heart-rending and astonishingly brutal climax to their story. What lengths will Baby and his offspring go to complete their mission? Will it spell Armageddon for the beleaguered planet with its vulnerable and exploited creatures or will man tip the scales himself, leaving those that love the creatures to salvage the pitiful ruins? In "Echo", Netty's influence transcends a full century as the United States evolves to a point of politically driven economic collapse. The year is 2033 as a young mother, abused by her shiftless husband, heroically decides to remove her two sickly children, Scotty and Abby, from the mean streets of their government subsidized tenement town of Short Hills, New Jersey to the hills and old farmland of Sussex County. There they unite with a Latino family that adopted Jose, a young boy from Costa Rica, traumatized at the age of seven by the brutal murder of his parents and the kidnapping of his infant sister. The two families unite to pool finances, creating the love and bonds that will enable them to survive the psychotic attention of Armoni, a soul damaged beyond redemption, discovery of Baby's miraculous offspring, Echo; and their subsequent body changes. Through the efforts of Echo who develops an unexplained passion for the curly haired dog, Barney, they flee the clutches of Armoni after the murder of Armoni's sidekicks by Echo, to Sarasota, Florida, one of the last remaining enclaves of wealth in the U.S. Scotty learns to utilize Echo as a co-conspirator in his intrigue to thwart the efforts of heinous people that prey on the lives of creatures in their environmentally rich new home, where the insidious miscreant, Armoni, tracks them; bringing brutality and violence to all.Having fallen in love, the young Abby and Jose draw close, only to be separated by the transcendental Netty, who tries to use Abby as a conduit in her plan to rescue as much wildlife as they can before despicable political events bring on the specter of Armageddon...

I love the preface of this saga being an entire book - and a heartbreaking one at that. Where will our heroes return in the story at some point?? Fear not, the generous and proud Netty and Baby will return. In the second book we meet Echo. Funny, loyal and powerful she gives her all to the family that has adopted her. A mix of races populate this book, all bigger than life including Armonie, a villian you will have no trouble despising. Not for the faint of heart but timely and sadly true. Glad to see someone send a warning message about our wildlife and our planet. We will not be immune if we don't take heed. In the third book, Netty emerges to lead the confused Abby (with Echo's help) to a conclusion of Baby's original mission but events have forced their hand and they are on fast paced race against the bombs! Can't wait to get my hands on the next installment. This is one of those books that you won't be able to shake for some time.

I read this collection in couple of afternoons. It has something that did make me turn the pages compulsively, despite the terror and the graphic images pictured in it. I loved the story! I will definitely complete the series and buy the other three books I miss. Ms Accinni has style and managed to create a frightening futuristic scenario.

Creative and absorbing, I could picture many scenes, from Echo riding on the family pet to the long alien fingers that stroke the dogs fur. To include saving many of our endangered species was an added treat. I cannot wait to see how it all turns out. Mankind should Beware! I think for a trilogy there should be more stars given. I would like to give 15 Golden Stars for this awesome read! Highly recommended and I am off to read Hive which I am sure will be highly gripping and another 5 stars for this Author.

I absolutely LOVE this series, so when I found out the author was combining her books into an anthology, I jumped at the chance to get a copy! "Baby" is the first book and introduces us to Netty, Wil and Baby. Their story is far from a happy one, but had me completely gripped from beginning to end! It is a dark tale of violence and abuse, but there is something about this book that made me fall in love with it! "Echo" is the second book and moves forward 100 years into the future, introducing new characters and new terrors. Again, this story is just as dark and disturbing, if not more so, and although I was disgusted by some events, I was completely enthralled! "Armageddon Cometh" is the third book and continues the darkly violent theme, but it is not as severe or shocking as the previous two books. That being said, I still had the "rabbit in the headlights" feeling whilst reading the story. This is a great way to get to read this fantastic science fiction/dystopian/post-apocalyptic series, but be warned, it is not for the feint of heart! There is violence and sexual abuse, as well as foul language that may disturb some readers. However, the author has woven a tale that contains a message that is close to my own heart; that all life is precious and if we want to see our children's children's children's children inherit this planet we call home, we have to take better care of it, or face possible extinction by our own hands (or alien ones!). In fact, I'm seriously considering jumping ship and joining up with Baby and Echo's mission! That being said, this is a fantastic series that has stayed with me long after I finished the books. There are plenty of twists and turns, surprises and a plethora of emotions to contend with whilst reading these books. I am looking forward to reading the last three books in the next anthology. J.K. Accinni is definitely on my favourite authors list. Her writing style is fast paced and extremely descriptive. I could easily picture these characters - Armoni *Shudder* (not saying anymore!) - and places in my mind. I do not recommend this series to younger readers due to the violence and the language, but I highly recommend this book (and series) if you love Science Fiction, Dystopian or Post-Apocalyptic Fiction. - Lynn Worton

In the third book I saw a glimpse of Netty and wow.... What can you say about Baby and Echo, the two aliens. Baby (male) gave birth to Echo (female). Nice touch. They both love their divergent families and will do what needs to be done to protect them. I see more danger coming and hope to see more of Netty and Baby. Moving on to book 4. This series is highly recommended (some violence that the author had kindly warned about on her book page)

For lovers of scifi this is truly a remarkable series. Each book gets better and better. I know because I read the whole series. I love the author's descriptive style and deep characterizations. Even though the story is dark and emotional at times, I also had an uplifted feeling from the first book. As a side note, I think it is pathetic to see nasty political vitriol directed against the author. Dystopian stories all have a political component that "brings on the bombs." It was three pages in a series of over 1000 pages. Comments of racism and anger against women are only in the nightmares of these liberal reviewers. This is a series that makes you honestly reflect on the damage we are doing to other life on this planet. At the same time it will entertain you with the angst of being a flawed yet loving species.

Charming, funny, scary Alien love I was delighted to find such a charming and emotional story of paranormal romance wraped in a sci fi wraper. I adore Netty, Baby and Wil. I am still blown away with this book. Dang! Talk about a completely different book and storyline… I’m still dumb founded with “Baby”. Author J.K. At the same time there is a strong message to us as the reader.: DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE DONE UNTO YOU. Karma can be a b****, or it can be your friend on or in so many dimensions. At first when I started reading “Baby” it seemed weird in a way, then I would back up and read that part again. It was then that the understanding began to unfold for me to be able to grasp the meaning of the storyline. The creations of the characters is/was way off the charts, I absolutely love Netty.. In a lot of ways Netty could step into my life or I should say I could step into hers! Then of course the fantastic crazy “Baby” comes into the mix… Love, love, love her too. As you read “Baby” you will be sent into a world of sadness, turmoil of violence, abuse. A lesson in life to follow…. And some confusion as you try to wrap you spinning mind around it all. But once you get past the angry state of mind (at least for me) you’ll find yourself laughing, but also crying - *lets out a big breath* Now I’m off to read/review book 2, “Echo” in this spectacular series!!! A great MUST READ series with a big twist of mega proportions and differences. Author JK Accinni continues the unique story in the Species Intervention series with “ECHO”! I have become completely engrossed with this series even though they are so unlike what normally draws me to say “yes, I’ve been waiting for this one”, but it HAS!! An amazing storyline has been sculptured like a captivating piece of “art” within the covers of Echo that spans or lapse through time- as it has here between BABY into ECHO, and the wow factor is so unreal, yet very real at the same time….. The cast of characters in the Species Intervention #6609 just keeps growing in all their quirks, traits, strengths and weaknesses. “Echo, book 2” is jaw-dropping-head shaking kind of spectacular. To fully understand what I’m trying to say here you MUST READ this series. You really do. Just when one character/creature pulls on my heart, as did Baby and Netty in book 1 – a whole new set crawl right in there too! Yep, in this book (Echo) I have Echo herself along with Scotty… and don’t even get me started on Barney! *nope, not a good name* but one heck of an addition. ROFL, a “soul puppy.” My message is: Protect your family at all costs. Wouldn’t you? And that is exactly what Echo wants too, but things happen, leading to more questions… ugh I hate it when that happens, and answers aren’t given. For every wrong doing, there are consequences or a punishment to be given (another life lesson). Help, comfort or curses are justifiably given when needed (yes, just like in our lives) The storyline is building so dynamically, that you best be prepared for one breath gasping ride, as you take the next leap of faith into the events that are surely going to hit us in “Armageddon Cometh”, book 3 in this enigmatic series… buckle-up because here we go into the unknown so to speak!! J.K. Accinni you are off the wall phenomenal writer, that is running real close to one of my all time favorite authors, who like him being able to spin a story plot so unlike any others!! I wait eagerly for each new novel of his, and now I find myself doing the same thing with your work of art/writings. I applaud you sincerely on this. Thank you, thank you Ms Accinni so much for your sweet ECHO. Armageddon Cometh, look out because here I come. What will you hold in store for me and all the other readers/fans??? We will see, I say. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIRES. The kind of storyline or writings of J.K. Accinni just keeps getting better with each book in the Species Intervention #6609 Series, it’s staggering the amount of multiple layers (yes, like an onion.. I stole that from Shrek) layers that are spread throughout the characters, not just one or two main roles. Many readers, and I’m one in this group for sure… who read A LOT of books especially for review try to clear their head or mind to a point once finished with that particular book, (but of course you still remember the main parts) but for me this series keeps popping back to the forefront refusing to stay on the “shelf” in my brain. Well darn, how am I supposed to concentrate on the next book? And for me that’s huge! You see there are only a handful of authors that have done that to me, (but this is a good thing) when that happens it’s telling me that I have found a new favorite author to be placed on my list… *nods head* J.K. Accinni is officially added to this list. I am absolutely addicted to this series. So far this series has kept me second guessing everything that I think that I’ve figured out, but NOOOO, just when I’ve placed one part in the basket it bounces right back out!!! I feel like a basketball refusing to go through the loop after it’s been carefully aimed and then thrown. Gesshhh, I’m getting dizzy here. But, this is my entire fault, because I try to see ahead or solve things in books to fast. ***** AMAZING ***** I am a lover of this series, as I’ve already said so this is a plus for me being able to have read them one after the other, (if there is a series that I’m reading, I grab them all together) well I’m only part the way through with HIVE book 4.. Why do I say this? well I’m referring back to the part where I had said that I try to solve what’s coming in a book, that bad habit of mine…. Well it would normally make is it easier for me to find the answers to the questions that form in my head, but not so in this series. We are only given snippets on answers, then a ton more questions. Making this, a very intriguing, if not a very bumpy roller coaster of a ride. And loving the rush at the same time. Hang on once again readers!!! Well done once more, please keep them coming!!! Recommendation: YA and up Rating: 5/5 angel stars. (I would give so many more stars if allowed) Angel Anne Reviews

I will be the first to admit that I am not a huge fan of science fiction nor of dystopian fantasy. However, having reviewed this book I can honestly say that I was engrossed by this series. This series portrays a world that could be all too possible if man doesn’t rein in his worst tendencies. At times the action is brutal but I have read worse and is salvaged by the humanity of those who have been chosen by Baby or Echo to be Elders. The political background that runs throughout books two and three is chilling and serves as a warning to everyone about extremism. I had thought the trilogy was complete but it appears that I will have to read book four to find out what happens to Joe and his family and if the evil plans of the Imans are thwarted. This might just be the book that converts me into a science fiction fan.

My best friend's wife put me on to this and since it was free...what the heck? But wow, what a surprise. Not only a super value but well written (this author has talent) nicely paced, especially book two and three. I was surprised by the cliffhangers, blind sides and twist. GREAT! I really enjoyed these books. baby is awesome, and echo is funny . the first bit of book 2 was a little off putting to me, but then it picks up and makes up for it. I would gladly ready these books a 4th or 5th time ( or even 100!) I can see these books becoming movies or a tv series .

This might be one of the most bigoted, xenophobic, and racist sic fi series of all time. I say this as someone who goes through a couple of books a week and have done for the last 20 years. I say this as someone who goes through a couple of books a week and have done for the last 20 years. Move over Orson Scott Card, there's a new crazy fruitcake right wing nut job in town. Seriously, the author makes him look like a sane rational person with well considered opinions. The problem is that book 1 is deceptive. It's decent, sets up the main characters well, and we even feel a bit of sympathy for them. It's not standout in any way, but sets an interesting stage for the rest of the series. Fast forward to the next one (which is set in the future, the first book is set in the past), and all the crazy bursts forth. In the 'future', the US is overrun by socialists, the decline that started off with universal healthcare. The main political party is a socialist one, and good honest folk are suffering more than ever due to this. Muslims are somehow on the rise and a strong political power. They're also universally evil, sexually abusive to everyone around them, and all, without exception, psychotic. The author also takes delight in random political rants at random odd moments. These are so amazingly tedious and talk-radioish that it's impossible to feel any sympathy for any of the protagonists. The characters are all perplexingly flat and one dimensional. Aside from gender, it's hard to tell them apart. Bad things happen to them and people around them periodically, most of which are focussed on shock value and horror. Even these supposedly dramatic scenes still fall flat and feel contrived. At some point a black character is introduced, and despite it being 2032 or so, she talks like a character out of a bad blaxploitation 70's movie. It's also blatantly obvious that the author is obsessed with animal rights and has no children in her life. Her portrayal of children lacks any insight or depth, whereas the hordes of animals in books 2-3 are lavishly painted and apparently have surprisingly complex thoughts and emotions. The obsession with animals is such that the 'climax' of book 3 involves literally nothing more than moving a bunch of animals around. Page after endless tedious page of animals going into various modes of transportation, with the main characters all, for reasons entirely inexplicable, feeling excitement and a sense of drama. I read these books based on the recommendations here. I'm truly baffled by how there can be so many positive reviews without anyone even mentioning these issues.

I love this beautifully written series of three books. Much stands in the way of Echo's resolve such as falling in love with a family with hardships and a white curly haired mutt named Barney who she dubs "My Barney." Tragedy besets Echo's new family and she vows to protect them while pondering her mission. The third book culminated in the reintroduction of the beloved characters from book one as they make ready for the salvation of the planets wildlife and the humans Echo and Abby plan to rescue. This anthology will make you laugh, cry, cringe in horror and blink hard over the blind sides. It is nothing short of an emotional roller coaster with timely warnings of what the human race may well suffer if we don't change our ways. ON TO BOOK 4!!!!!

J.K. Accinni has written a trilogy about aliens and humans. Accinni went to great lengths to show that humans and aliens can live harmoniously on mother earth. The story begins with the abusive marriage of young Netty to Robert Doyle, and if that wasn’t bad enough, the author smoothly introduces us to Baby, an alien that she expertly weaves into the story. Into that paradise walks a stranger, Wil Capaccino, and the circle of perfect love between humans and an alien was firmly established. But like everything else, soon the idyllic life was disrupted when Netty’s past caught up with her in the form of, first her estranged husband’s henchman, Eli, followed by the man himself, Robert Doyle. It was heart-wrenching to read the abuse that the occupants of the farm suffered at the hands of these humans. Whew, what a roller coaster ride, and this ride comes in threes, there’s Scotty in book 2 and 3—a trilogy, no less. Take a ride on this roller-coaster, if you dare. ENJOY!

JK Accinni is a talented word artist whose books are thought provoking and really draw you in. It is easy to fall in love with her characters. This is really a wondrous series – a work of art. The first book introduces you to the characters and a story that completely enthralls you. First I have to confess I have loved anything science fiction for the last 35 years at least, and am used to reading them quite a lot. So seen the cover of the book, I expected something like that. Was I in for a surprise, because you don't only get a nice unknown species in the book, but also a great book with main characters you can recognise and feel for. Was I in for a surprise, because you don't only get a nice unknown species in the book, but also a great book with main characters you can recognise and feel for. The way Netty cares about animals and nature makes her the ideal person to bump into something unknown. Her relation with the new person seems a natural conclusion and the way everything goes from there is very understandable, although very sad at some points. Second part is very nicely written for most of the story. Wished the author had been clever enough to leave Chapter 10 (beginning of it that is) out of this story. It just doesn't seem to help the book, is completely overly described, too much horror for my taste and feels like a fill-up to get to the right amount of words. But, this said, don't let it frighten you out of reading the book, the rest of the book is not at all like that, and the story nicely continues where the first book ended (even if it jumps over 100 years). We get to know a bit more what the strange "animals" are doing on earth, and we get to know three new helpers for them. The book has some funny parts, some action parts and some romance parts. All in all a book that would be very great to advice to my friends... if I could just cut something out of it. Well, this third part makes it clear again why this series is worth reading. After the second story I was a bit doubtfull about going ahead with the next book, but this one goes back to the same quality and style of writing the first book had. The writer lets you enjoy the new found environment the main characters live in now, and ties a few loose ends that were still hanging around from the two first books. From the peaceful life you slowly get thrown into the big climax that is coming, as the title suggested. We get here a small glimp of the characters from the first book in the series, seems they will be playing a role throughout the series. Even though the "armageddon" is not coming in this book, you have some idea what it will be all about and who is responsible for it. The idea of the story it to show the way the rescue can be coming for those that are supposed to be saved. Even though this book has also some violence, nothing that extreme that it would influence the line of the story and it all seems to fit very well in there. In the end, a book I would advice my friends to read, not only those that like Sci-Fi but also those interested in the environment and the future of our planet. Just don't stop with this book, check out the stories that follow!

Baby: I wasn't sure I was going to like this book, ET was not my thing and the description compares the two. However I quickly fell in love with it and could not put it down! Netty is a young woman who is married off at a young age to a cruel heartless man. Netty flees on day and returns to her parents house. Broken hearted and shattered dreams leave you feeling so much sympathy for her. One day Netty finds Baby, a creature never seen before. With Baby's love and care things change completely for her. Netty then meets the love of her life Wil who accepts her for who she is and what she's been through. The ex husband catches up with them for a shocking twist! The ending of this book is fantastic and leaves you begging for more! Echo: I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. This book picked up in at entirely different place from where the first book ended. I was hoping to see a continuation of Netty, Wil and Baby. However I found this story to be just as fantastic as the first. Both of these books can stand alone. Abby and Scotty have had a rough child hood. Scotty finds Echo who is a relative of Baby. Through a rough world, which I can actually see forming now in modern times!, they are forced to live with a second family to get by. Jose if one of the brothers in the second family that brings Abby peace. I loved this story, amazing story line and character development. This story does not disappoint but ends on a very big cliff hanger! Armageddon Cometh: I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. This book is beyond amazing! It picks up where book 2 left off so you will need to read these in order. This review does contain spoilers. Continuing to follow echo's lead Abby is somewhat brain washed and helps do a modern day Noah's Ark to save the animals. Jose also gets a very big surprise in the ending :) Can not wait to read book 4 since this book leaves you begging for more! Excellent story line, character development and editing!

I was enchanted from the moment Netty walked into Baby's cave. I loved the writing skill and the original story. So much today is ripped off from somewhere. When I get my hands on something original and emotional I am in heaven. Echo started the meat of the story with Baby being the prequel. (I guessed that meant we would be hearing from Netty and crew again. Good thing or I would be chipped!) In Echo we meet a multi racial family with many hardships. Their lives turn as Echo is discovered. (Echo is Baby's lost offspring) We also meet a very special doggie, Barney who becomes the passion (platonic) of Echo's life. In book three: enter Netty with her mission to use Abby, causing a split in her budding romance with Jose. There is a sense of tragedy, urgency, horror, and it's clearly a time for our heroes to grow up. But how in the world does one accomplish that while bodies are changing, wings are appearing, tails are growing and the bombs are on their way?? A skillful series for the dystopian and wildlife nuts. I wish I could give it a 10!

Free & fantastic! I love FREE books, and who doesn’t? Especially when they are so good! And to actually have the first three books in a series really sucks one in. That's exactly what happened to me. I think you’ll be sucked in too, but be prepared with the Kleenex and make sure you read with the curtains drawn and the lights on! I thought I could see where this read was going. And I found the story timely, sadly true and cautionary.
