If you like your story to have more unanswered questions than a celebrity version of mastermind then head right into this new-adult, dramatic romance. I felt confused over my feelings of how to rate this story and I'm still wondering whether I disliked this book or if I'm so distracted by its storyline that I can't stop thinking about it. Here are my 'Wrecked' book thoughts ... What's it all about? Lorrie is a student at Arrowheart college, Illinois. Her life has been anything but straightforward following the tragic deaths of both her parents. Lorrie is desperately trying to move forward from her heartbreaking past and she is working hard to leave behind the circumstances that seem to be the only thing that she and those around her can focus on. Then she meets Hunter the dangerously attractive cage fighter who on the outside appears to be everything that Lorrie needs to stay away from. But this fighter has secrets that he is keeping locked away, so with heartache and unanswered questions hanging between them will this couple be able to overcome their difficulties together or will they become the end of any chance of a happily ending together. What did I like? The author evidently had a story that she wanted her readers to fall in love with. It was obviously a story that was well thought out and like any book I read I appreciate the time and effort that an author puts into their novels. I liked the friendships that were developed between the characters as the story unfolded. There is a lot of anticipation and unanswered questions that had me racing to find out more. It gave the story an interesting spin and actually held my Intrigue. The story also had a level of heart ache and mystery but it never felt heavy or too angst filled. The characters were likeable enough although I won't be adding them anytime soon to any favourites lists, the main male character, hunter had the whole tortured, bad boy hero vibe going in his favour his flirty, charming ways made for some light hearted entertainment and the glimpse at the end of the book of his point of view really pulled the story together. As for the heroine I didn't really connect with her but I do believe that the author did make an ok attempt at delivering a broken, troubled college student. The last 20% of this story probably deserved a star all by itself, it was at the point that my interest was sparked and I felt an understanding of the authors direction but sadly It was a little to late and my confusion over this story was already leaning towards a lonely two stars. Why not five? Firstly I needed more of Hunter's point of view, I needed answers sooner in the story and a understanding of the authors direction of plot. The story didn't develop the relationship between Lorrie and Hunter quickly enough it felt too stilted and forced at the outset and then it felt rushed towards the end. One of the biggest problems I had with this novel was the heroine she confused me, her decisions and actions throughout this story frustrated me and as a result it took away the enjoyment factor of the storyline. This book had tonnes of potential to be a huge full out five star, but for me it lacked flow and direction. I felt like the author crammed as many themes into 250 plus worth of pages as she could and for my reading tastes it just didn't work out. I'm sure I'd give this author another try as I saw glimpses of talent that I enjoyed, but sadly I won't be carrying on with the series. Final thoughts ... This book has a varied review rating there are undoubtably some readers that will love this drama-tastic attempt at college age romance but this time around it didn't hit the spot for me. But who knows you may fall head over for this troubled, sexy, mixed martial arts expert. Go see for yourself ... Enjoy, kisses. *Guest reviewer for Dirty girl romance book blog, ARC generously provided by author in exchange for an honest review.* http://dirtygirlromance.blogspot.com

Didn’t even need a synopsis to get me to pound on that Read Now button. I was all like . . . The biggest surprise was that I pretty much enjoyed the story too. So what was Wrecked about???? Ha! Just kidding. However, since this was a New Adult title it did fall under one of the handful of potential plotlines available for use. This time it was the “I’m damaged and you’re damaged so let’s be friends and not complicate things with sex” theme . . . . Lorrie has a rather unfortunate meet/cute with Hunter when she falls into a pond on their college campus and he fishes her out. A combination of embarrassment/excessive baggage has Lorrie bolting as soon as possible thinking she’ll never cross paths with Hunter again – and she doesn’t . . . until one night Lorrie gives in and agrees to go on a double-date her BFF set up. Said double-date turns out to be a real douchecanoe so Lorrie quickly excuses herself when she sees a crowd gathering for some sort of event. Turns out the event is a MMA fight and the main event happens to feature a certain someone . . . (^^^and then God created man and it was guuuuuuuud^^^^^^) This time Hunter isn’t going to let Lorrie escape so easily. Y’all know what happens next, right???? Yep. As their friendship develops so do Lorrie and Hunter’s feelings for each other until finally they give in to temptation and have some SERIOUSLY. HOT. sexytimes. I was all . . . . Of course since it was me reading this there came a point where enough was enough and there was talk of “cock” and calling each other “Babe” and “Hun” and . . . . But for the most part I liked it. Until the G.D. ending. Cliffhanger?!?!?!? Motherf*&^%r!!!!!! (I might still read it, though, because I’m still feeling horny for some porny.) Oh, and one more thing . . . Yeah. I think I’ll just go ahead and leave that riiiiiiiight here. ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, NetGalley!

3.70 stars I know I said this reminded me of Beautiful Disaster but I may have spoken too soon. Except for the similarities with the MCs and the setting, this story is definitely more tragic than BD. I won't be summarizing the story since the blurb is pretty straightforward. I will say this though: Lorrie is very difficult to like. This book could have ended up a DNF for me if not for the last 30% where the story really picked up. I sympathize with the her plight but the constant "I don't want to want you, let's just be friends," almost killed the book for me. Plus she acted like a jealous beyotch whenever Hunter pays attention to other girls. But Hunter was a complex character. I kept reading this one because I wanted to know Hunter's secret. When it was finally revealed, I was like... It was heartbreaking. Unfortunately, we may have to wait early next year to find out if Lorrie managed to get her head out for her ass for once or if Hunter survived and live to fight another day. She's teetering on the brink of sanity. When she inadvertently falls into freezing water, nearly drowning, she is saved by Hunter, who's out for a jog. From that point forward, I was completely hooked on this story! Hunter likes Lorrie and doesn't want to hide his attraction to her. Lorrie, isn't interested in a boyfriend. She can't handle any more stress or heartache in her life or she knows it will break her beyond repair. Not willing to completely loose touch with her, Hunter agrees to be "just friends" with Lorrie. Despite their agreement to remain as friends only, Lorrie soon finds herself struggling with her feelings for Hunter. Although she knows she shouldn't care, Hunter's playboy reputation bothers her. She can't hide her jealousy or deny her feelings. Yet, she refuses to pursue a relationship with Hunter. Often times, I felt sorry for Hunter and the situation that Lorrie continuously put him in. I could see why she would be so hesitant to grow too close to someone. However, she was being very unfair to Hunter with her "want to have her cake and eat it too" behavior. He was a really sweet guy and it was hard to see her build up his hopes, just to crush them repeatedly. When the two finally decide to take their relationship a step further, the drama blows up. Ex-girlfriends, insecurities and secrets threaten to tear them apart. It turns out that Hunter hasn't been as open with his past as Lorrie has, which causes a colossal misunderstanding. By the end, I was feeling a little bad for Lorrie. No wonder this girl was hanging on to sanity by a thread! Her whole world had imploded and then Hunter gets all secretive and sketchy. To top it off, all of his friends blame her for his problems and attack her. Poor thing! All in all, I really enjoyed this book. It had many similarities to another college-aged MMA fighter romance that we all know. However, it was different in enough ways that it rang true as an original story and not a Travis Maddox copycat story. I am starting the next book immediately, because I need to know how things work out between Lorrie and Hunter. Too much was left up in the air and I feel quite attached to this couple already. If they don't get their HEA, I will be a very unhappy camper!

THREE STARS! I bet you're wondering why I've used this particular graphic for my review. No? Well, OK, but let me tell you anyway. As an unapologetically lazy person (that should be whipped for such laziness), I decided to be a cheating cheater that cheats by using a graphic I made from my old fandom days (which was kinda applicable to a particular scene in this book, which is why I used it :P). Honestly, this easily could have been two stars for me. For the first 70% of the book, you're stuck in THREE STARS! I bet you're wondering why I've used this particular graphic for my review. No? As an unapologetically lazy person (that should be whipped for such laziness), I decided to be a cheating cheater that cheats by using a graphic I made from my old fandom days (which was kinda applicable to a particular scene in this book, which is why I used it :P). Honestly, this easily could have been two stars for me. For the first 70% of the book, you're stuck in the mind of a TSTL heroine that you feel guilty hating on since she's been through a terrible two years. And when I say terrible, I really mean terrible. [Beware: potential trigger warnings]. So the first 70% saw me going round and round in a seemingly never ending cycle of dislike and guilt where I cried helplessly in the dark for someone to come rescue me from all this flippityfloppitystoppitystupideedoo. And then the hero's secret was revealed and I was lost, I totally couldn't deal. He saved this book, big time. Hunter gets a gold star all to himself because hell, if I had a guy like him during my uni years, they really would have been the best years of my life. The only other thing I found worth mentioning is that the definition mentioned in this book of an "unhealthy relationship" largely differs from mine. So what they missed two days of classes because they were having a major sexathon after finally admitting their feelings? Big deal. Let's not use labels just to create unnecessary drama, OK? Would I recommend this book? I'm not really sure. If you're in the mood for a bit of a college romance that is very slow to unfold then this one might be the one for you. And even though I wasn't really a big fan of this book, I do feel like I need to read the next book for closure. Wrecked is the first book of Lorrie and Hunter's story and the fourth book in Priscilla West's forever series. Rescued is it's follow up book.

I was very excited to start this book when it caught my eye. It had many factors that I love when it comes to a great romance book. The couple in this book meet when Lorrie is in a dangerous situation that requires outside help immediately. Hunter happens to come across her, and jumps right in to save her without any thought to his own well being. He saves her and then brings her back to his place where sparks begin to fly between the couple. The only problem is that Lorrie has some major issues that she has not dealt with, and she has no interest in letting down her protective walls for anyone. Considering how attracted she is to Hunter, it makes her fight her feelings even harder and she is determined not to give in to her feelings. Another strike against Hunter is the fact that Lorrie has seen evidence that he is somewhat of a man-whore, and he has no shortage of girls giving him whatever he wants-in bed and out. After a few weeks go by, Lorrie is out with her roomate and an unsuccessful blind date! She decides she has had enough of her date and follows a crowd out of the club to see what all of the commotion is about. This is when she sees who Hunter "The Hammer" Jensen really is! He is an MMA fighter that gets paid decent money to fight his opponents; and he is GOOD! Hunter pursues Lorrie that night and they end up agreeing to become good friends. Even though their friendship continues to blossom, there is still a major attraction for each other. Hunter tries many ways to get closer to Lorrie, and one of them includes taking shared responsibilties in taking care of some abandoned kittens! They do end up becoming more than friends, and eventually sex gets put on the table..Not all is as it seems though. Hunter still has secrets that he is not telling, and for that matter so does Lorrie. Will they ever come clean to one another? How can two damaged souls fall in love with each other when they still don't know everything they should? That is the main story line to this book. I have to say that when I began reading,I became fully engaged into the characters from the start. I fell in love with Hunter right away. I mean, he was built with lots of muscles, and was full of tattoes! Did I mention that he was so sensitive and willing to just be friends with Lorrie without any pressure for sex? The guy was hard NOT to fall in love with! So I was highly enjoying the story, and then at about 40% things started to change for me. Lorrie began to annoy me majorly, with her "let's be friends" routine. She kept giving poor Hunter mixed messages..One minute she is kissing him, and then the next she is whining that they just can't go any farther. I am sure the poor guy had a bad case of blue balls by the time she was finished with him. The worst is that this theme kept getting repeated, and I was very close to shutting the book and leaving it for good..I continued though, and when they finally gave in to their passion, I reached a new road block for me. For some reason, the sex in this story didn't not fit in with the style of writing at the beginning of the book. In other words, we went from tame friendship, kittens, sensitive feelings to: "I want to fuck your cunt". It just didn't fit with the tone of the story in my opinion. Hunter went from this gentle, sensitive guy to being written as a major agressive alpha male in the sack. It just seemed out of place, and therefore I found it a bit corny. Anyone who knows me..knows that I LOVE sex in my books and I LOVE a hardcore, agressive, alpha male; but I also expect my characters personalities to be consistant through out the book or it just doesn't work as good. The inconsistancies happened with Lorrie too. She went from being so against a sexual relationship to all of a sudden becoming a sex crazed lunatic!! She also was all over Hunter once they hit the sack too. It just went so out of character with how she was portrayed in the beginning. This made the story less believable to me. Even with all of those complaints though, there was still a storyline that kept me intrigued enough to finish. I couldn't put it down, as I had to find out what secret Hunter was hiding. I am glad I held out until the end. There is a huge twist that I did not see coming, and because of it I will most definitely be following this series to its conclusion! Darn it though, there was a bit of a cliffy, and everyone knows how I feel about those!! I am glad I gave the book a chance, and I do look forward to seeing what Priscilla West has in store for Lorrie and Hunter next!

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK - I loved their little game with the names.. - Her aunt was such a nice woman.. - Lorrie struggling with her studies was very understandable and made the story realistic.. - Daniela was so cool! When Priscilla West had contacted me to ask if I had wanted to read her book, I jumped on it right away!! Being the MMA junkie that I am though, I was a bit skeptical about how it was going to turn out since often at times I see the same habits and set ups played in a lot of these reads. “Wrecked” did have some typical elements I see in NA romances: 1) a broken heroine && a bad boy 2) girl heroine is reluctant to start anything with guy but he relentlessly pursues her for a “real” relationship When Priscilla West had contacted me to ask if I had wanted to read her book, I jumped on it right away!! Being the MMA junkie that I am though, I was a bit skeptical about how it was going to turn out since often at times I see the same habits and set ups played in a lot of these reads. “Wrecked” did have some typical elements I see in NA romances: 1) a broken heroine && a bad boy 2) girl heroine is reluctant to start anything with guy but he relentlessly pursues her for a “real” relationship 3) crap happens; characters’ secrets and baggage are revealed 4) some push and pull action ensues 5) and then a cliffhanger happens!! HOWEVER, despite the clichéd story set up... content-wise, I really loved the plot and characters. It was interesting in the beginning, snagged in the middle, but man did it pick up in the end! I really dug the whole bad boy meets good girl vibe and how they start off as friends but end up developing into more. It’s more plausible and believable and over all makes the story even more memorable. I swear, I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster of highs and lows with this book!! Lorrie was quite an unstable, psychotic bitch to Hunter and yet he still wanted her!! I get that she lost both her parents due to horrible circumstances but she treats Hunter terribly for her own issues in her head!! I was like, “oh, come on, Lorrie!!" Hunter’s perfect for you and can actually put up with your crap! What the heck is your problem?! He’s sweet, tattooed, an alpha male MMA cage fighter, and genuinely likes Lorrie good and bad. Hunter always tries to make things work with her but in the end, Lorrie’s problems and insecurities get in the way and she ultimately makes a stupid and selfish decision. I was screaming, “why!! Did the book have to end like that?!?!” Oh, Priscilla West, you tease!! I want more Hunter!! And I want Lorrie to get over herself and see the bigger picture. I get that she is lost and needs to find herself; I also get that she needs to heal. But, in the end, what she basically needs to do is to let go of her past and just LIVE. Gosh darn it, Lorrie!! I want a guy like Hunter pursuing me! So, my verdict: A definite read that you MMA lovers can’t pass up! Despite my frugal feelings and rantings towards Lorrie, when it comes down to it, I can see deep down what makes her thrive and tick. I really hope that in book two, Lorrie buckles down on all of her demons and will finally give into Hunter’s loving once and for all. But then again, I don't know if this book series is going to be like a two book series or even a trilogy perhaps. I guess only time will tell!! *Thank you Priscilla West for contacting me and offering me a free complimentary ARC of your book for an honest review!! I really appreciate it.*

I sobbed, trying to push him away but he held me tightly. "I'm flailing like an idiot and I'm just going to pull you down with me! We're both going to drown, can't you see that? It's the typical, "Oh, I can't get into a relationship because I'm so screwed up but I'll just string you along." "My life is so bad." Yeah, she was selfish and I know - I know that she doesn't know the whole story, but come on, she had to know how much Hunter wanted to make her happy. She's insecure and is constantly jumping to the wrong conclusion while Hunter wants nothing more than just to love her. Man, I wanted to slap that bitch and give her a wake-up call. While, Hunter, my sweet Tat and Muscle man, I just wanted to lick his whole body. mmmmhhmmm.... I just loved the scene in the bathroom during breakfast time...I had to laugh because I have never read a scene like that in a book.....very very creative! Well, we have Lorrie who is back at college after suffering through her mother's murder and her father's suicide. She just wants a normal life without the numbness - she doesn't have the strength for relationships and gossip. That is until a knight in shining armor saves her from a mishap. Not only is this guy gorgeous with muscles upon muscles but he has a sensitive side - OH...and did I mention that he is a MMA fighter?? Hunter wants Lorrie - he wants her so much that he agrees to just a friendship but it is a constant battle with Lorrie's jealousy. She is conflicted whether it is okay to get into a relationship with a "bad boy" who has a "playboy" persona. Hunter was unlike any guy I'd ever met - or probably would ever meet.  He was a walking contradiction:   fierce yet tender, strong but damaged. Just when things are going great with Hunter and Lorrie since they started dating, Lorrie gets a shock from her past and Hunter is MIA. Rumors are floating around school which gets Lorrie running for the hills. There is a secret that Hunter is holding back from telling her and it may just have ruined their relationship.... Wrap Up The story started out great and had my attention but by the middle, it did get a bit slow but man oh man....as soon as you get to about 70% - wow....the book flies!! It is angst moment after moment!! Plus this ends with a major cliff-hanger.....one that has me dying for the next book! See Full Review

I had so much hope for this book as the blurb excited me. But all my hopes went down, as for me it felt like a copy of Beautiful Disaster. Many similarities in it but just a change of concept. Hunter was delicious and didn't give much pull factor. He was sweet, hot, sexy and mysterious. And Lorrie, on the other hand, was broken and become annoying and selfish by the time I finished the book. I would still thumbs up to the author for her writing style. These Characters were more whacked then wrecked! I hate giving bad reviews and I hate to add a book to my DNF shelf even more. I do it very rarely maybe once or twice a year. I really tried to give this book a try even when I wanted to give up I would try to hold on just a little bit longer. I finally decided as much as I love to read I shouldn't waste time on something that I'm not enjoying. This being an ARC made it really hard for me not to finish. I finally decided as much as I love to read I shouldn't waste time on something that I'm not enjoying. This being an ARC made it really hard for me not to finish. I really feel to give a good review you have to finish the book you are reviewing. Unfortunately I couldn't finish this one but I do think I read enough to give a fair and honest opinion. I stopped at 59%. The book starts out with Lorrie returning to college after taking a year off to grieve for her parents. One parent died tragically and the other killed themselves from guilt and loss of the other parent. The weird thing was the parents had divorced years before this. Lorrie meets Hunter and they hit it off. They both admit to being attracted to one another but Lorrie says she wants to be nothing but friends and this is where the story goes downhill. Hunter agrees and they hang out. Every time they get closer Lorrie freaks out and pulls away. Most of these times that she did this were caused by her but yet she blamed Hunter and rejected him over and over and I mean so many times my head was spinning in circles. Lorrie was annoying and acted much younger then her age. She also acted cheesy and awkward. The things she said and did were ridiculous. The first scene that sticks out in my head is the one where she went back to Hunters house to change after falling into the lake. When he wasn't looking she stole his trash and ran off. It was said that she was paying him back for the dry clothes he lent her (that she was stealing) by taking his trash out. It was really stupid. I liked Hunter but he needed to get a spine and become a little alpha male. I think Lorrie would have been receptive to it if he had just taken charge and told her things were going to happen. I'm an alpha male lover though so I'm sure everyone doesn't think this. I got tired of him being treated badly. The cover of the book also bothered me because it had so much potential. I just though the person looked too photo-shopped or plastic looking. I'm not sure why but the person looks too fake. I'm a fan of hot guy covers but this one doesn't look natural at all. The reasons behind the way Lorrie rejected Hunter time and time again weren't clear. I know this type of storyline is expected to have some push and pull to the relationships but this just went in circles too many times. I really hate giving bad reviews. I know this author has worked hard on this book and I appreciate being given the chance to read it. I don't think lying or being dishonest about it will help the author or the publisher in the long run so unfortunately this is how I feel about this book. The story had a lot potential and there were parts that I really enjoyed. Lorrie's character needs some work especially how she talks and the recurring circles that Hunter and Lorrie's relationship goes in needs to be tweaked. I understand her pulling away once or twice but this wasn't enjoyable. I would love to see this storyline revised. I would definitely buy the book to read it again if that happened. ** I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I only made it to 50%. It is well written and all... but personally, it was just boring, irritating and I wanna say predictable? But I didn't finish it so I can't. I'm sorry but the female character, Lorrie, is just beyond irritating. I get she's broken, it's sad what she's been through and she doesn't want to get involve but she likes Hunter but only as friends.... I have no idea. Much as I want to know what Hunter's secret is, I can't read more, I just can't. But I'm guessing it's gonna be bad, sad, and it's gonna make me love Hunter more. And I hope Lorrie wakes the hell up! So yeah, this book is not for me... ARC provided by Blackbird Publishing through Netgalley for an honest review....

3.5 Stars An enjoyable, but highly angsty read. Lots of heartache and sorrow. Lots of drama and college craziness. Despite the fact that this style of story is not overly original, I did find enough differences to make this one stand apart. I really felt that there was quite a bit of realism to this story. (hide spoiler)] Lorrie is back at college trying to recover after a tragic and devastating period in her young life. To clear her mind one day she wanders off to a closeby lake. Thanks to an [imaginary] cat, she fall into the freezing lake. Fortunately, the legend MMA-fighter, Hunter Jensen, pass by and manages to pull her out before she drowns. Hunter is known around the school for his girls, booze and fights. Lorrie tries to stay away, but she can’t help to accept him into her life little by little. They start to develop a friendship over a joint custody-deal over six kittens. The sexual tension is always present between the two and how long will it take before their patience snap? What will happen when secrets starts to threaten the carefree bubble they have created for themselves? My list of ♥ & ☹'s for Wrecked: ♥ Sweetness: Hunter and his six kittens was so adorable. Hunter and his relationship with Rampage was even more adorable. I totally swooned over the parts with Hunter and the kittens. ♥ Great potential: This book has some great potential. I’ve read a couple of West’s books before and I enjoyed the way she keeps me intrigued throughout story. The build-up is somewhat similar in this book as well. Everything that happened in the last 20-30% of the book really intrigued me and it sets a great potential for the second book. ☹ Drama Queen: My biggest issue with this book was Lorrie. I can’t even remember ever disliking a female character as much as I did her. It’s not that I don’t understand her situation, I really do understand. But I don’t really think this was a plausible reason for her behavior towards Hunter most of the book. I’m sure her hot and cold behavior could annoy a rock.Talk about mixed signals! She’s so self-centered it hurt me to read about her. My favorite moments in this book was actually when (view spoiler)[Ada and Gary ripped her head off. The bad thing about this was that Lorrie yet again didn’t see her own faults. (hide spoiler)] Overall, I have mixed feelings towards this. My lack of connection to Lorrie and dislike of her strongly affected my rating for this book. I also believe that not getting any conclusions affected my rating. But I do cross my fingers and hope that the second book will work better for me and that this will tie all the strings together. I also strongly hope Lorrie will redeem herself. *** 4 Stars *** At first Wrecked reminded me of Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. But I thought that this story was a bit more deep and emotional. I would of given this 5 stars if Lorrie wasn't so fickle. Her fear of getting into a relationship hurt Hunter a lot, and I could of just gone without all that back and forth. Other than that, I really enjoyed the characters and the plot. *** 4 Stars *** At first Wrecked reminded me of Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire. This is going to seem really mean, and I don't entirely want it to be, but this book is one of the reasons I've stopped reading New Adult. At first the story was good, we meet both characters, Lorrie and Hunter, in a nontraditional way and their relationship is cute (I loved the hockey game scene). But, less than a quarter of the way through, things take a turn for the worse. Lorrie is extremely confusing. I understand that she wants some space due to her parental situation, but whenever she starts complaining about not having a relationship with Hunter, she hasn't even mentioned her parents since like thirty pages ago (about a week or so in the book's time). Then, when she finally decides to date Hunter, she just throws all of her doubts out the window. Her entire demeanor seemed bi-polar. And, West never even mentions what Lorrie looks like. I think she might have blonde hair, but I don't know. When the main couple does end up hooking up, all they do is have sex. This was about halfway through the book and I was so tired of it that I just started skipping the sex scenes. And just because you make your main characters college students does not make your book New Adult. The scenes in this thing were raunchy. If someone talked to me like that whenever we were being intimate, I'd freaking castrate them. Another thing that bothered me was the repeated idea of "gossiping." I'm a college student and I know for a fact that you walk by hundreds of students each day who have no clue who you are. Just because Lorrie's situation was on the news did not mean that people would know who she was and what happened to her. Plus, a lot of college kids don't watch the local news. So all of these people who knew Lorrie and Hunter and kept talking about their relationship and yadda yadda made me really mad because that is absolutely not how college works. Lastly, there are the kittens. This isn't a major deal, but those kittens seem to only be alive whenever the author conveniently needs them to be. If the main characters aren't feeding them, petting them, etcetera, those kittens don't move. They sleep. So, I know this is a huge rant, but this book just made me really angry. Plus, it's the first book in a long time that I had to actually skip parts of in order to finish. If you don't mind all of the things that are listed above, then this book isn't a bad choice for you, plus the ending was actually pretty good. But, it does have a major cliffhanger to set up Book #2, so be prepared. 2/5 stars *Note: I received a copy of this book to review from Netgalley. This in no way altered my opinion/review.

This is probably my fault but I can't stop comparing these fighter books to Beautiful Disaster, and the part that sucks is that none compare :( I liked Wrecked, however I didn't fall in love with it. She has suffered a lot of loss and she is the center of the gossip machine at school. Hunter is a tough guy MMA fighter who is in his senior year of college. He is smart, fun, handsome and protective. He is covered in tattoos and oozes the bad boy vibe. What more could anyone ask for? So one fateful day, Lorrie is sitting by the local pond when she is startled. She falls headlong into a freezing cold pond only to be rescued by an infuriatingly handsome man...Hunter. Hunter finds himself drawn to Lorrie, but she has had enough drama in her life. She is not interested in dating and pushes him away at every turn. But Hunter won't be dissuaded. The gossip at this "College" is unbelievable. As soon as Lorrie starts hanging out with Hunter, she starts to hear all about his conquests. He is a ladies man to the core. This reinforces her belief that she should NOT get involved with him. Lorrie is a very emotional young lady. She thinks she knows everything there is to know about Hunter and she judges him. But soon, even she can not resist the lure of Hunter. When they finally succumb, it is hot and they don't emerge for days. But even then, she can not stop judging him. She becomes whiny and insecure. Lorrie acts rather rashly and fails to communicate with Hunter at virtually every turn. She is very immature for her age, and frankly I have never heard so much gossip in a book. The timing has to be incredible to hear someone talk about you. Even on a small college campus the odds are slim. But somehow, she hears the gossip at every turn. And of course, she believes everything she hears. YES!!! It is all your fault Lorrie! I wanted to smack her so hard. Yes, she went through a lot and yes it was horrible, but GROW UP! The redeeming factor in this book was Hunter. He was the absolute best. He was just the right amount of alpha male without being over the top. He was clear and honest with his intentions and he stayed true to himself. Lorrie was just all over the place. I really did not like her at all. That made parts of this book excruciating. It is told from both points of view so we got into both of their heads. Hunter has a lot going on and I hope to find out what happens with him in the end. There was a bit of a cliffhanger at the end. Will I read the next book? Yes, I will. I will put up with Lorrie because Hunter is so worth it in the end. The writing was good, the dialogue was good for the most part. Some minor problems there for me. The main story line was well done and it was paced well. So overall, a three star read for me. I did like it, but I wish Lorrie had been more real and a little more mature. I could have loved this one with a few adjustments. ****A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. ***

I could have seen this story really taking off. I mean who doesn't love a bad boy fighter who's obsessed with a heroine? So the story line wasn't so classic: damaged heroine meets damaged/rough/alpha/fighter bad boy....they start out as friends because heroine's too smart for hero...yadda yadda....then BOOM! Magic ignites and they get together. The sex was hot, I'll give it that much. Again, I'm going to go with execution on why, when this has worked for so many others, it didn't work for this. I think that our heroine, Lori, fought off wanting the hero for too long...and again, instead of working in favor of the story, it just became irritating. The "villain"/OW that really isn't another OW, but just used to be the hero's girlfriend, Ada,....I didn't understand her part other than just adding another irritating, NOT ANGSTY, part to the story and the fact that the hero was always sticking up for her to the heroine. Also, I thought Gary (hero's BFF) had a total change of character toward the end and I didn't get it at all. Also, it ended on a cliff....a major cliff and if I had known, I would have waited for the 2nd book to come out before diving in. I'll probably forget all about this book by the time book #2 comes out, only remember it irritated me and then just read a spoiler on it to see if the couple received their HEA and then move on. Would I recommend this book? Ehhhh - hard to say. Obviously tons liked this book and this is my own opinion, but I'd have to lean toward no.There's just too much that irritated me.

Wrecked. Oh, Wrecked, my high expectations were so brutally shot down by the end of this tragic love story. Ok, I have to attempt to put into words how totally great this story started out, how by the middle I was ready to give up, then it perked up once H/h got their act together. Then I was rolling my eyes at the fact a 1/4 of the book was a power session in passion, all of it, just shoved into one part of the book, then its love, then its tragic again, then we have the--wait for it--misunders Wrecked. Oh, Wrecked, my high expectations were so brutally shot down by the end of this tragic love story. I loved this book from the beginning. Yes, I got totally sick of Lorrie. Yes, your mother was murdered, yes your father killed himself in his grief... However, there are young girls raised in drug dens with prostitute mothers that walk away go to college and totally survive the way they were raised. Yet, here you are feeling sorry for yourself, refusing to date a guy that appears to be totally nice and willing to date you, and give up random blow jobs mind you, all in the name of being your man. It worked. The push/pull idea worked. Until it got silly. Then couple finally gives in. Then they literally have a four day hump session which takes up 1/4 of the book. Then Hunter becomes MIA, right as she gets a letter from her mother's killer, also her step-father. Yes, it sucks, call the prison and say NO MORE! But everyone cries, and gushes over Lorrie, and pats her back. She finds out Hunter is hanging out with ex, she doesn't make assumptions which I totally give her credit for. She goes to talk to him! She's redeemed. Normal dumb girl choices don't happen. Well, instead, Hunter makes dumb girl choices. I'm assuming this is the authors way of changing it up a bit. Ok, but its silly, he doesn't want to 'taint' Lorrie with his reality. Um... dude, her mother was murdered by her stepfather and her dad offed himself shortly after. What you got going on is not only mild, but I'm pretty sure she would want to be part of it instead of the nasty ex. Then you have Hunter's best friend. Making Hunter's choice FOR HIM! Um NO dude, go home and shut your trap you don't get to decide who is good for who and who gets to date and not. Hunter was surviving because of Lorrie, actually living beyond his little fighter bubble. I just didn't buy it. Because just when Lorrie got the smarts, Hunter got stupid and it ends on this cliffhanger and I'm just done. I was upset by so much in the book. The pacing was off for me. The author loaded up all the sexual content in one part of the book so it totally unbalanced it. I started to skim because I was done by Saturday night with them. As a whole, the technical and grammar was good in this book, I think it was mostly the characters that drove me up the wall. If Lorrie is going to stop with the self loathing and whining like she did at the end of this book, I MIGHT read book two. It can't get any worse. Hunter obviously will tell her, but I don't know if I can handle all the supporting cast at this point, I feel like they are the wedge going between them. The book did inspire FEELS obviously. It wasn't really all that terrible, I just didn't totally enjoy it like others did. This is only MY opinion of the book, and as far as New Adult goes it isn't terrible, it just wasn't something I enjoyed as a whole. *I received a copy of this book Blackbird Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

2.75 Stars I came upon Wrecked on NetGalley as a "read now" book so I downloaded and decided to give it a try. I'm not sure if I should be writing a review or not because I probably should have just decided to not finish it but I kept at it hoping that in the last 50% of the book things would change but in the end I was still left feeling a bit frustrated. Wrecked is Lorrie and Hunter's story. Lorrie has decided to return to college to try and put her life back together. What has happened in Lorrie's past is heartbreaking. She desperately wants to put her life back together and really doesn't have room for much in her life. She certainly doesn't need to get involved with anyone. Hunter is the campus bad boy, fighter and the guy that every girl wants. But Hunter also has things in his past that he is dealing with and hates that rumors are constantly circling around about him. Something happens to Lorrie at the beginning of the book that brings Hunter into her life. As Lorrie and Hunter's relationship begins I really wasn't sure I how I felt about both of them. Lorrie kinda annoyed me. She was a walking contradiction. Hunter was just your typical guy. He didn't care about things that were being said about him and just wanted to go about his life. Things start to heat up between the two of them and while some of the things that happen between Lorrie and Hunter were cute and kinda sweet, that is all it ended up being for me. I wanted to feel more but never did. I didn't feel their connection and I was kinda bummed by that. For me this book was a bit predictable and just fell flat for me. I decided to finish the book because I was hoping something was going to change for me but in the end it didn't. Things did pick up a bit and we find out something about Hunter which made me so sad but unfortunately it just came to late in the story to make a difference for me.

I received this book through Netgalley, and I was very excited to read it. Ratings were kind of meh, but the story looked promising, and it was…towards the end of the book. But, the first half of the book, not so much. I actually wanted to quit reading it a few times, but pushed through so I could give a full review of the book. I’m glad I did finish it, but it was honestly kind of a tough road getting there. First, what I didn’t like… I’d like to say the first half of the book, but that doesn’t quite narrow it down enough, so here goes. 1. The dialog between Hunter and Lorrie, in the first half of the book. Their interactions seemed forced and a lot of times very immature. I didn’t believe in their friendship or the attraction they had towards each other. More so on Lorries side than Hunters. Most of their conversations were vapid and silly. Nothing seemed like it could be a real conversation – it was the worst. 2. Lorrie “fighting” taking her relationship with Hunter from friends to more. She would get insanely jealous, and just expect him to understand why she was angry/jealous. It was so stupid! He’s a dude. He’s going to do dude things. She was the worst when he’d be talking to a girl, or when she’d hear he had been with someone else. So annoying. Bleh. 3. All the times Lorrie would hear gossip about Hunter, and about her and Hunter…I mean come on, this must have been the smallest university ever and there was apparently nothing else going on for people to talk about. No one gets talked about that much, and if they did, what are the chances you’d almost always overhear gossip about yourself or your friend? Dumb. This was dumb. 4. The fact that Hunter didn’t know who she was, or her backstory. Really? She was the “most talked about” girl on campus and he had no idea about her history? Nope, don’t believe it. What I did like... The last half of the book, or well, when Hunter and Lorrie finally got their crap together and started dating. Everything before that, awful. Most everything after that, wonderful! I enjoyed Hunter for most of the book, except for the silly juvenile conversations with Lorrie. The glimpse we were given at the end of the book, about the last few years of his life, BRILLIANT! I kind of knew there was more to him than what we were shown, but the author picked a wicked cool way to reveal what was going on in his life. The writing was much better in the second half of the book as well. The author finally seemed to get into the story, and it was reflected in the writing. It was more believable and must more enjoyable. And the ending! GAH! Fantastic. We got the Hunter POV, Lorrie (view spoiler)[running away, kind of (hide spoiler)] and all the drama that came after Hunters fight. I loved it. So, with all that, I decided to settle on a 3-star rating for the book. Mainly because it did take me so long to get into the book. I can usually handle a couple of chapters that build the story and character development, but this one just took too long, and the great ending couldn’t make up for that. Will I read the next one? Yup! I just hope it doesn’t drag in the beginning like this one did. Here’s my casting for Hunter…

4.25 stars. I actually finished this yesterday BUT I desperately needed to read the 2nd book so I forgot to write a review. So I'm doing a 2-reviews-in-1 type of deal. Her mother was murdered by Lorrie's stepfather, and her dad killed himself because he couldn't live without Lorrie's mom. While contemplating her life, Lorrie sees a cat and falls i 4.25 stars. Wrecked starts off with college student named, Lorrie. She is starting school again after taking off 2 semesters to deal with the death of her parents. Her mother was murdered by Lorrie's stepfather, and her dad killed himself because he couldn't live without Lorrie's mom. While contemplating her life, Lorrie sees a cat and falls into an ice lake. She almost drowns but a stranger saved her. They go back to his house to warm up, but Lorrie does not want to form attachments because she wanted to find herself and feel normal first (which I actually think it a very reasonable thought after all she's been through). So after she dresses, her mysterious Tattooed & Muscled (she nicknames TIM) stranger goes in for a shower. She runs away stealing his clothes, but not before stealing his garbage to repay him for his clothes. Days later Lorrie and her best friend Daniella go out to a bar on a terrible double date. As she tries to ditch her Justin Bieber date, there is a commotion going on. Apparently, they have MMA fights to attract crowds. Lorrie goes to see the fight, and low and behold, is her TIM hero is one of the fighters. She tries to leave but it seems TIM remembers her too and catches up with her. She soon finds out his name is Hunter Jensen. They both have an instant connection with each other but neither want to pursue anything because of their personal issues and fear of getting close to anyone. However, that does not stop them from being drawn to one another. Hunter and Lorrie's story is filled with so much heartache and pain. My heart broke for Lorrie in Wreck but my heart really broke for Hunter in Rescued. I really enjoyed their story. It sort of felt like a Beautiful Disaster thing going on BUT, I thought the issues Lorrie and Hunter had to go through were much more devastating. Hunter and Lorrie are both incredibly strong characters, and I would not know what to do if I were ever in their position. And they both are made even stronger with each other. I really loved these books, granted I did not read the 1st books in the series but I would like to go back to them. I just wish the epilogue was a little longer. I was hoping to see more into Lorrie and Hunter's future. 5 years down the road are they still making it? Is Hunter's disease progressing? I NEED TO KNOW! lol There were just so many tough roads ahead I wish we had gotten more. But besides that, I really liked these 2 books and I am happy to have read them.

This book was not at all what I expected, yes I expected Hunter and Lorrie meeting and falling in love, yes I expected Hunter being a bad boy MMA fighter but I never would have guessed all that this story holds and I never would have guessed the twist. I find that as I get older I am a angst wimp:} Lorrie finally is coming back to school after the loss of both of her mother and father. On her first day back Lorrie is saved by Hunter and the quickly become friends, not because they aren't attracted to each other but because Lorrie isn't ready for more, and also because she knows exactly what type of man Hunter is. But Lorrie really has no clue what type of man Hunter is, he has secrets and even though Lorrie try's she soon finds herself falling in love. Hunter has always wanted more but accepts Lorrie's offer for friendship and though he finds himself falling more and more for her he keeps his word till neither can deny their love. But the pain Lorrie still has from the loss of her parents and Hunter's secret soon pulls them apart. Till Lorrie finally realizes that she can't live without Hunter. But it may be to late...... except for the fact that Hunter has claimed Lorrie and he won't let her go no matter what. Oh my goodness gracious I loved Hunter, bah I loved, loved, loved him(talk about determination when it came to Hunter's love for Lorrie), he broke my heart. The end of this book left me speechless, I almost wish I has waited to read this book till book two was out because the ending killed me(I said almost). I loved the build of Hunter and Lorrie's relationship and watching them realize that no one else would do. Priscilla West did a exceptional job on this book she made me love Lorrie, fall more in love with Hunter(then I thought possible), and want to strangle others from this book. Book two can't come out soon enough Wrecked left me a wreck, now I need rescued (wink wink). *thank you NetGallery and Blackbird Publishing for this ARC copy for my review

Sudden revelations that give them their HEA I found some similarities to BD and I realize that authors will work towards what is "working" for readers at the moment. But freshness and one's own creativity are so important to me. I liked the book. But I did not love it. Would I read more from this author? Probably. I did ache for Lorrie and her very sad life. I also would liked to have smacked her dad for leaving her. Hunter comes to Lorrie's rescue at a very momentous time and from that moment on their story begins to take shape and move ahead. I did love how Hunter was so caring of Lorrie, regardless of how silly she might act or what she might say. I found him to be one of those loveable H's who I just wanted to hug and hold onto. Lorrie. Now this gal needs to grow up. And she needs to grow up fast if she wants any chance of keeping Hunter. I didn't completely dislike her, but I had some moments of "oh shut up and take off". She just didn't know what to say or how to say it most of the times. There is a cliffhanger and I'm not sure how this will play out. But I will read just to find out :)
