The mystery or the romance is not centre stage; it is the glue that holds the story together. The day to day living in a small country town with a myriad of characters is the main driving force of the story of each book and the over reaching arc of the series are the secrets. An engaging read and it kept my interest. 4 Stars.

This is a must read in order series. This, the second book in the series, takes up where the first one left off. Without giving anything away, I will comment that some loose threads will make you want to jump right in to book three. I gave the previous book 3, but I am giving this book 4 stars. I still wish these books had a list of characters with relationships in the front of each story. This book actually helped me understand the first book better as it explained what, why, how exactly happened. This is a continuation of the first book. This series has me hooked. It has everything. Murder, humor, romance, you name it and you can find it. There are lots of characters, one more interesting then the next. Rose Hill seems like a place I would love to live. I would say the main characters are Scott, Hannah and Maggie. Scott is the Police Chief and Maggie and Hannah always seem to have their nose in his investigations. On to book 3!

A rare story when suspect list multiplies but never diminishes. The entire town had reasons to hate this woman. No one liked her. The police just kept finding more and more deplorable things about her.The murderer should have been rewarded not punished.

Margie Estep is a vicious gossip and seems to have access to the town's secrets. So when she disappears nobody is cncerned, hoping that she has finally left. But things are not that simple. A good mix of mystery and romance makes this an easily read story with quite a range of characters. Margie Estep is a vicious gossip and seems to have access to the town's secrets. This follows the Fitzpatrick family in this town, their friends, and neighbors. This has to do with poison pen pals, embezzlement, and Margie disappearing. A lot is a retelling of the murder in the first book. Good characters, and noisy neighbors to enjoy knowing.

Great This book is a what the neck can happen next. You have two brothers who have not been home in a long time, monks, letters telling secrets, love, and a falling out. Good till the last page is turned.

A story that tells the mysteries in the small town of Rose Hill in ten days! Maggie Estep the ex post mistress, a nosy busy body makes plans to disappear but end up murdered.

Now through book two and have all the characters straight. Definitely need to read book three to find out what happens. The mysteries are secondary to the characters and their stories.

This is a fun series for cozy mystery fans. Small town. Lots of characters. Decent plotting. Well written. Characters are more than skin deep. It is an engaging setting and series and a light read.

very involved plot my only complaint was when a note was received, we never got to read it. the recipient read it silently and we never got the info included. solution was a real LEFT FIELDER. it came from ET. good read.mp

The fun continues. Love the animals and the people and the murder is fun too. Some people deserve to die maybe and some don't and it's not always easy to tell the difference. The fun continues. 2nd book in series just as good as 1st Really enjoying this series! This second book in the series returns to Rose Hill and the same characters, with new mystery and suspense. I really like that while it continues on with the same characters each story is a stand alone. I look forward to visiting Rose Hill again.

Another great mystery and murder in a small town. I am reading the series in order as there are always loose ends to tie up in the next book. Will Maggie and Scott finally get together? Will Mandy and Ed's romance survive living together? Will Sam get his act together and come back to Hannah? Sounds like a soap opera but the main part of this story is the convoluted mystery! I must add that the beautiful covers almost sell the books by themselves. I wish I had a water color series of the covers Another great mystery and murder in a small town. I am continuing to enjoy this mystery series set in the small town of Rose Hill. I would probably give it 3.5 stars, with a little taken off for typos, mostly use of the wrong word of two homonyms (site instead of sight, peak instead of peek, etc.) I´ve become quite involved with the life of the small town and all of it´s (mostly) related characters. The mysteries are well done, but it´s the interaction of the population which makes them fun. this was excellent! I enjoy this series. Maggie and Scott play off of each other well, and I was happy to see Margie get axed in this one - she's caused enough grief and trouble to last many small towns a millennium or two. There are some issues in this one that will be resolved down the road, and this is one series where reading in order is important as each book carries over to and from the next and previous books. this was excellent! Wow, for a very small town there sure does seem to be a lot of action, criminal and otherwise, in this book series! The characters are quite compelling. I feel pretty immersed in their lives now, with this second book. Lots of action, great characters, a very dry sarcastic humour (just my kind!) throughout, and a good main mystery, with many more mysteries to come hinted at! I'm enjoying this series enormously! Good story This one was better than the first. A little confusing, but every good mystery is. I do wish I had the information the author alludes to, with the back stories, but probably that will be covered in later books. And there are plenty of loose ends to still wrap up, like the mysterious old woman and Lily...

Can't wait... ...to start reading the next Rose Hill mystery. Who says small towns are peaceful. When the local postmistress gets caught messing with the mail, losing her job is the least of her worries. Can't wait... ...to start reading the next Rose Hill mystery.
