We read this book before bed tonight and it was not what I expected. I can see that the book should teach conflict resolution but I think it's pretty far off with how things are actually handled. My 7 year old liked the book but thought it was strange that he was having conversations with his toys. I didn't care for the book at all but I will say that it opened us up to dialogue about taking things without permission. We read this book before bed tonight and it was not what I expected. This two part book Give it Back! and No, it's mine! Caught the attention of my children. My son even asked for it again a few weeks after our first reading. Both times we were able to engage in good conversation about thinking things through and working things out with your siblings. It is good for showing empathy and I think my son will eventually catch on to that. This two part book Give it Back! and No, it's mine! Caught the attention of my children. Will definitely look for other books of the same author. With clear and simple messages, the kids get the idea pretty well and keep remembering about the book each time a similar situation occurs. Love the idea of the diferent possibilities to face and try and solve the conflict.
