Admittedly I got this book more out of curiosity than conviction. I like expanding options for my diet, but have no real plans on adjusting it to conform with a raw or vegan diet. Having put that forward though I have to say that I was very impressed by this book. The first section which is on the diet part, doesn't take the approach of most of the vegans I know, but a more balanced approach. It presents a rational view on why this diet should be better for you than one that has more cooked food Admittedly I got this book more out of curiosity than conviction. I like expanding options for my diet, but have no real plans on adjusting it to conform with a raw or vegan diet. Having put that forward though I have to say that I was very impressed by this book. The first section which is on the diet part, doesn't take the approach of most of the vegans I know, but a more balanced approach. It presents a rational view on why this diet should be better for you than one that has more cooked food involved. It also explains the benefits and downsides to both a cooked diet and a raw food diet. This reasoned approach did more to sell me on the possible benefits of shifting more to raw food as a part of my diet than anything else in the book could have. The recipes are also something of a joy. Some of them I will most likely never try, not being a big fan of coconut, but some I am drawn to try even if I never make a full shift to a raw diet. I find the concept of Mayonnaise with no egg intriguing. So I would recommend this book to anyone that does any food preparation at home, but most strongly to those considering a change in their diet to adjust their food intake in regards to feeling more healthy.

I won this from a Goodreads first-reads giveaway. The first half of the book is full of fantastic information to educate the readers on how to maintain a healthy diet/lifestyle. The rest of the book is filled with delicious recipes that are easy enough to make.
