This book was amazing. What an impactful and eye opening testimony this was! I recommend any believer to read this. It will make you reevaluate your priorities, and shed light on the persecution other believers face in other countries - in this book the Muslim community.

Face to Face with Jesus is the testimony of Samaa Habib, a Christian who was born a Muslim in a predominantly Muslim country. She tells her story of her childhood, how she came to Christ, and her life after accepting Christ. And one day, two terrorists bombed her Church, temporarily killing her. It was then that she came 'Face to Face with Jesus'. She tells her story of her childhood, how she came to Christ, and her life after accepting Christ. And one day, two terrorists bombed her Church, temporarily killing her. It was then that she came 'Face to Face with Jesus'. But to me, the meat of the book started long before her near-death experience, and while this experience is wonderful, it's not the centre of the story. Nope, the centre of the story is how God is everywhere, even in the places where we least expect it. Consider this, Samaa's birth nearly killed her mother. She grew up during a civil war between Sunni and Shia muslims. But one day, during a free Taekwondo class, she hears the word of God. Something sparks within her that previous experiences haven't (she had attended an Orthodox Church before at the invitation of her friend). She begins to go to Church, and finally accepts Christ. And through her living testimony, she manages to bring her mother, her sisters and most of her family to Christ. And in turn, they are powerful testimony as they model God's love in a country that persecutes Christians, especially Muslim-turned-Christian believers, who are apostates in their eyes. Samaa's story was a good end-of-2014 book for me because it was a wake-up call. It is so easy to keep quiet when you're the minority, even if unlike Samaa, you don't face the threat of death for your faith. God has reminded me to be a loud and loving witness wherever I am. This book left me in awe and opened my eyes in more than one way. About a young Muslim girl who finds herself in the middle of her countries Civil War life is not easy. Sunni and Shia Muslims are at war with each other and many suffer. Prominent families lose their status and wealth. They have to burn their furniture to keep warm, and many die from the cold. Food is scarce and many kill wild dogs or worse just to eat. There are bread lines but they are often fruitless and citizens are told there is no more bread to give despite standing outside for hours. During one of these times in the bread line a commotion begins and an angry mob begins fighting. Gunshots are fired, people are trampled and Samaa finds herself praying to God. By some miracle she is spared when she could have been dead. More so they were lucky enough to get bread. Realizing that none of her prayers were ever answered by Allah Samaa starts realizing there is more to this God than she knows, and she yearns to know more. Craving Jesus she begins finding out more and more on Christianity. She finds herself at some of their services, she begins Tae Kwon Do classes taught by Christians, and she begins to absorb all the knowledge she can. With that knowledge comes an unshakable faith that Samaa did not quite expect, and the hold she has always carried within her closes up. Loving her new relationship with God she yearns to share His love with others, especially her family. Tentatively she starts spreading the news to others. Despite persecution, despite others throwing rocks at her, and her own family beating her Samaa does not give up. Slowly her loved ones begin transforming and Samaa realizes this is only the beginning of her journey. An explosion at her church where she was a victim goes further to prove her theory that there is much more for her to do for Jesus in the world. This book is not for the faint of heart. This is a real story of one young woman's harrowing experience in a land where freedom of religion is not accepted, and where all Christians are considered traitors. It is heart-breaking, heart-warming, and will send you on a roller coaster. It will leave you breathless and you cannot help but to sit at the edge of your seat. The difference between this book and many others is this is one young girl's TRUE accounting of what happened to her, her family, and her land. I was left awed by this book. I was encouraged by Samaa's unflinching faith and I believe every encounter she detailed in this book. It is sometimes hard for us to accept such strong emotions and miracles. Sometimes it is easy for our minds to shed doubt on such things because certain circumstances are incomprehensible to us. But for me I loved this story and am grateful it was shared. I just know this book will go on to change lives, and I am thankful to have had the chance to read it. I have been recommending this book left and right, and will continue to do so. It woke me up even further to a lot of the issues pressing on Christians in other countries. Samaa's story is one of courage, faith, love, hope, determination, and the strength of Jesus. It just goes to show when we have Jesus on our side anything is possible. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Chosen Books in exchange for my unbiased review. This is a moving book of how God moved among a Muslim community to save a young girl and most of her family. She was raised in a country 98% Muslim and where radical considered conversion to Christianity worthy of a horrible death. She experienced many miracles and visions and now devotes her life to encouraging the church to pray that God would send workers to the harvest among Muslims. In this autobiography we read the story from a moslim woman who comes to faith in Jesus. The story is filled with miracles and healings, and recounts how through her faith and changed attitude she wins over most of her family to believe as well. It is encouraging to read her testimony and to see how through her faith, prayers and fasting, she persists and is able to reach out to many others wherever she goes, whether this is the fashion world of models, business, or a war torn country. Incredibly Powerful I do not even have words for how amazing this book was. Every step of the way, I was learning and growing in my own faith as I read about this young woman’s incredible journey. It was so incredible it was almost unbelievable. But I know the Lord works in very mysterious ways. What happened for her and her family is a true testament to God’s grace and provision. Thank you for sharing your story!

Due to the author's place of birth and religious background before her conversion to faith in Christ, there are many details in this book that are either vague or left out altogether. As a result, this autobiography is rather bland, in spite of the miraculous things that have happened to her. I have no doubt that everything is true, and I am sure hearing her speak in-person would be amazing. I had just hoped for more meat and potatoes in this book. I enjoyed it though my interest started to wane. I was curious about which country the author was from. She never mentioned anything at all about her country, I couldn't help but get lost in this mystery, which I found to be very odd. I guess it swirled around too much in my mind while reading the book. I enjoyed it though my interest started to wane. I was curious about which country the author was from. Unforgettable As I sit in my comfortable American home I'm in absolute awe of the life Samaa has lived! After I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down. Even before I finished it, I ordered it in paperback form because I need to read it again in order to absorb it all, and I want to loan it to everyone I know so they can read it also. This book certainly gives hope that God is alive and wants us to spread His promises if we will trust Him. The chapters are not chronological and so it makes a bit hard to follow at times. Once I realized this, I just read each chapter as a stand alone experience and began to examine my own faith walk. I definitely look at prayer and fasting differently as a result.

A powerful story about forgiveness and courage, written by a former Muslim who was severely injured (and reportedly went to heaven) when her church was bombed. The author also shares how transformative the Christian faith was for each family member who converted.

Given to me by a friend. At first Samaa's faith seemed simplistic, but later, I decided it was more of a child-like trust in God, and strong. She finds herself invited to a free Tae kwon do course, and she jumps at the chance. It is through the leaders of the course that she learns about Jesus, however it is through life experiences with war that she learns that Jesus is real, and that He loves her. Thus begins a journey of the supernatural power of Christ working through her and in her, protecting her from intense violence, hunger and war and then encouraging her when she faces terrible persecution. The culmination of this comes when an Islamic faction group bombs the church where she is worshiping and she breaths her last. Samaa is then brought miraculously back to life after meeting with Jesus face to face. Face to Face With Jesus is a powerful story of Samaa's relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after He draws her from the Muslim faith into a relationship with Him. Her account of her journey of faith is riveting and gives tremendous hope for any Christian. The Bible is very clear that all will face trials of some kind, and to read a story such as a Samaa's brings comfort and bears witness to the all consuming love of Christ that He has for each and every person. Samaa lives in a country where one can be, and a lot are, killed for believing in Jesus Christ. In spite of many obstacles, she consistently shares the love of Christ with everyone around her. I love how Samaa wrote the meaning of names throughout the book and how she found significance through names. I find Samaa's story very moving, and also very inspiring. Her love for Jesus knew no bounds, despite the hardships and trials that she suffered for proclaiming Jesus as Lord. She gives much hope and fills me with longing to see Jesus face to face one day. But for someone born and raised in the Middle East this was not a decision to be made lightly. Samaa and her sisters faced persecution at home from family members who did not leave the Muslim faith. But throughout the persecution Samaa stood firm even when beaten to renounce her beliefs. But in an act extremism the church Samaa was attending was attacked in a series of bombs. And this fateful day when she should have died her life was about to be a statement of the power of God. Even in her pain and suffering Samaa faces persecution from the local medical personnel because of her faith. But through it all Samaa comes into a closer relationship with her Saviour and is even a living witness to the power of God to fellow patients. This is not your typical near death experience encounter with God. Samaa doesn't have an experience of visions of glimpses of Heaven that are the focal point of her experience rather her journey was an encounter with God and His love and His sustaining presence even during times of persecution. This is an interesting book that is timely during this time of persecution of Christians who live in the Middle East among their Muslim family, friends, and neighbors. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy reading personal insights and experiences. This would also be an excellent addition to a church library. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher Chosen in exchange for my honest review.

War tore through her country and in an effort to be able to protect herself from gangsters on the street, she started taking Taekwondo classes. The classes were taught by a Christian and along with martial arts training,Samaa learned about Jesus and Christianity. Samaa began attending church and eventually was baptized as a Christian. One day, unknown to the church, four bombs were set to go off inside the building and Samaa was standing right in front of the second bomb that exploded. She died and went to heaven where she came face to face with Jesus. As someone who had evengelized several of her family members and friends already, Samaa was conflicted when Jesus asked her if she wanted to stay with Him or go back. She though of all the good she could do for Him if she went back and that was her choice. The book isloaded with testimonies of all kinds from God's love and faithfulness to His healing and provision. This would be an amazing book written by anyone but the fact that it is written by a former Muslim gives it even more impact. I hightly recommend this book if you are looking for a true story of the love of God. I believe it will strenthen your own faith to read it.
