How I would describe this book: A compilation of random stories with a smidge of paranormal. Maybe even an attempt at horror and mystery. Nope. I just couldn't do it. Believe me, I tried. When you get to the point where you have to force yourself to read, why would you continue? Reading is for enjoyment and I absolutely was not enjoying myself. Don't worry. I read over half of it, so I would say I gave it a fair chance. If I could describe this book in one word it would be cryptic. In pretty much every story I read I was so confused of what was truly happening. I mean, who writes a diary entry like this? Please, not again. Please, not again. Please, make it stop, please. I don't want to, don't want... she's like the moon, clean and bright and full of life and I... please! Is a demon trying to possess him and make him kill someone? I have no idea. And I never really found out. These are some things I look for when reading a book. 1. Is there a moral or lesson learned? Since these were short stories I was guessing there would be morals of the story. So either I suck at finding these or there weren't any. I searched. Re-read. Pondered. Couldn't come up with anything. 2. Does it make you think or inspire you? The only time it made me think was when I was trying to figure what was going on or wondering what was the point of a scene that didn't seem necessary. 3. Does it entertain you? Probably the biggest factor for me in reading. The answer is obviously, no. I tried to find it entertaining while reading. I think in the end, I was amusing myself more than the book was. Since these are short stories it is highly unlikely you would do something such as connect to the characters. But I was wondering why some stories had the same names as characters in another story. Are they the same people? Are these stories connected? If not, I suggest using different names. Trust me, there are plenty of other names in this world. This book just wasn't for me. Some other people might find it entertaining, but I did not. I don't like to constantly be questioning what I'm reading, why I'm reading, and having unanswered questions. P.S. This book needs to be edited.
