The way David is described, he must be similar to some character from "Big Bang Theory" (scrawny, weird talking, workaholic, not enjoying getting physical). Before Maggie is transferred to planet Gaia to continue her research, she visits planet Yonnie six (the men sexual slavery planet) to deliver a slave collar in exchange of some important documents. There she meets the slave destined to wear the collar and she decides she cannot abandon him in his fate. Kor is a new slave for Lady Pope'nose, a big bad ass still unbreakable and strong he denies to submit. He already has dreams with Maggie without knowing who she is. Together they escape to a resort where the token is pleasure and pain and they both lose their hearts before they realise it. I have to say that, this is my least favourite book of the series so far. There is a specific scene with the secondary couple Nina and Reddix which I wish it was not there. I did not mind male characters submitting occasionally to the female characters in previous books, but somehow I cannot picture Reddix submitting. I could not actually tolerate it and I skipped the whole scene. Apart from that, the world building is still amazing, the main couple (Kor and Maggie) is cute together and their sexual chemistry puts the book pages on fire.

Even though I'm a fan of Evangeline Anderson, I think this might be my last "Brides of the Kindred" book. I've read several of the earlier books in the series, and mostly liked them, but "Chained" was just OK. While the initial premise of the book looked interesting, mainly I found Maggie to be TSTL. I get that she's supposed to be a nerdy scientist who's not 'good with people', but she makes consistently silly and stupid choices. She doesn't listen, and seems incapable of following instructions. She's a brutal c**k tease....I got tired of all the times she used Kor: he helps her escape, he helps her when she messes up at the spa, he helps her relieve her needs, and he helps her remove the implant, but she refuses to acknowledge his feelings, and falls back on the 'my fiance' excuse Every.Single.Time. I'm not sure why Kor stuck around. And..the whole business with the Goddess at the end. I don't understand why authors feel the need to have divine intervention in their plots -- why kill her and bring her back? She's already rescued Kor and now they get their HEA. So...just 2 stars.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, this happens! This series never ceases to amaze me. In "Chained" we are introduced to a bit more of the Yonnie Six culture as well as a completely new and terrifying planet. The author has an amazing imagination and I always enjoy discovering new types of plants, creatures, an alien cuisine. As horrible as the customs of Yonnie Six can be it certainly brings up some interesting situations. Maggie is such a sweet girl, but very brave as well. She cannot stand to see any kind of injustice, especially when someone is in pain. Although she was a very intelligent young woman, she was a bit clumsy. I really enjoyed getting to know more about her. She was definitely a character I would love to have as a friend. Her and Kor were so much fun and there was never a dull moment between the two. Kor was arrogant and quick to anger, but also very loving and loyal to a fault. I lived getting to know him and found him to have a mischievous nature and sense of humor. He was also fiercely protective of those he loved. Aside from these memorable characters I also enjoyed meeting two new ones if the twin kindred variety. They were really intriguing and have me already anxious and eager to read the next book in the kindred series! Fans of the kindred series are in for a real treat with "Chained"!

I would give this book 2.5 stars. The .5 is because I love this series. The problem with this book was Maggie the heroine. I get that she was trying to stay faithful to her fiancé at the beginning of the story. But her intended was an ass, and her life was in jeopardy, so her protestations became annoying and unnecessary. If she had that much a problem with what she needed to survive than she should’ve just died. And her “reasoning” made no sense. Not my favourite of the series. The "demon" was a little cheesy IMO. I kept expecting him to go "Mwah Ha Ha". I liked Kor and Maggie together but the whole "I can't cheat on Daniel" thing got old really fast. Not my favourite of the series. The "demon" was a little cheesy IMO. If you haven't read the others yet then you are missing out! These are fabulous books featuring seriously hot men and the lucky women who are destined to be with them. This is a series best read in order but this book is a complete story and can easily be read as a standalone. Obviously though I would recommend reading the whole series in order. Maggie is a human scientist in the future who is given the opportunity to travel to a newly discovered planet . This means leaving behind her fiancée but it's only meant to be a six month assignment so what could go wrong? Just about everything! Her shipmates are struck down with serious food poisoning and it's up to Maggie to collect precious documents from a neighbouring planet. Whilst there she sees the man of her dreams (literally) held in chains and viciously tortured. Maggie's not the bravest soul in the universe but she's no slouch either and sets Kor free. On the run together the pair find themselves hiding out at a Sensory Spa but Maggie and the freed Kor are only just beginning their journey. Feeling guilty because of her fiancée Donald , Maggie tries to tamp down her overwhelming attraction to the former gladiator Kor. Unfortunately the pair are rumbled just when Maggie gets a message out to her Kindred shipmates with disastrous consequences . Maggie wakes up six months later to find she has been implanted with a so called "slut button" that pushes her libido into the stratosphere and worse still she's being sold as a sex slave. Rescued by Kor who has been searching for her, her implant continues to rule Maggie's life and the previously shy girl has to learn quickly to be an openly sensual woman! Kors determined to satisfy all of Maggies newly awakened appetites but he doesn't want to lose her. As the couple struggle to evade capture they are in much more danger than they realise as Kors past is about to catch up. Wow, this is one seriously hot book! This author excels at writing very erotic stories so not for those easily shocked but this one has a strong emotional pull as well. Loving the tortured hero and the implant idea sounded hilarious and yet it's handled with great sensitivity here. As usual Ms Anderson takes the unbelievable and makes it feel o so real. It feels at times as if the reader is actually in the book. Loving the bad guys here but essentially it was a well told love story. As part of the Kindred series it clearly opens up for newer characters to have their story told (soon I hope!) but we also have a quick glimpse of those from previous books. If you have read the previous books then you won't want to miss this and if you haven't then you really need to read these books! A fabulous read that is sure to delight old and new readers.

Unable to bear seeing Korexiroth enslaved and tortured by Lady Pope’nose, Maggie sets him free and escapes with him. Many adventures ensue on the way to their HEA. Having read all nine of the Brides of the Kindred books, I feel very familiar with the author’s style. There are certain commonalities between the books and various couples, but she manages to make each couple and each plot distinct, to the point where it is very easy to remember them from book to book. I don’t feel like I’ve read the same story yet, and I always look forward to the next one. It's important to read these books in order. Chained was a very solid entry in the Brides of the Kindred series. I liked Maggie and Korexiroth (aka, Kor) and was invested in their relationship. The adventures were pretty good, and I was satisfied with the conclusion of their story. I did notice a few typos and errors, but nothing overwhelming. I will say that there was an intimate scene between previous characters, Nina and Reddix, early on in the book that was a bit jarring to me. I thought their “activities” were more suited for (other previous characters) Lissa and Saber, and b/c the main couple of Chained hadn’t been intimate at that point, the scene just seemed a bit off to me. I never connected very strongly with Nina and Reddix as a couple, so, in my opinion, that scene could’ve been left out. There wasn’t too much re-visiting of past couples and characters from the series, and I was glad for that. I did have some questions about the necessity of a certain time lapse that occurs in the plot and about exactly what happens to one of the villains at the end. Despite these quibbles, it was a good read, and I was pleased with it. The author's imagination is amazing, and I love to spend time in her worlds.

As Kor and Maggie try to avoid capture the attraction between them grows…if only Maggie didn’t have a fiancee at home waiting for her. I don’t know what it is about this series that has managed to reel me in and keep me within its clutches! I am aware that elements of this story are completely ridiculous, but for the time I am reading any Brides of the Kindred book I completely suspend my disbelief and immerse myself in the story. I think what draws me in is yes, my love of all things cheesy sci-fi, but also Evangeline Anderson’s passionate and sexy couples. With each pair (or threesome) she has managed to create not only some scorching hot sex but also a great bond between the characters. Kor and Maggie had an instant connection and gave off sexual chemistry in waves and made a very sweet couple. The only thing I found annoying was Maggie’s constant guilt about her fiancee on Earth when she is forced by events to use Kor as her very own sex toy. You are on another planet, surely that doesn’t count right? This was another good read by Evangeline Anderson and an enjoyable addition to the series. I now can’t wait for the next book so I can see some more sexy aliens in action!

What should have been a simple mission turns complicated when Maggie is shown how the collar is intended to be used. Korexiroth may have been purchased as a slave to a sadistic Mistress but that doesn't mean he'll ever submit. Just as he's all but given up hope his Mistress has a visitor, a female he's been dreaming about, who has brought a collar that will either force him to finally submit or kill him. Will she be his savior or accompliss. Maggie can't allow Kor to remain a slave to Lady Pope'nose so she aides him to escape. In the process she becomes a criminal herself accused of stealing a valuable slave. Kor and Maggie find themselves on the run trying to evade people looking to return them to Yonnie six to face the consequences of their actions while unknown forces want Kor to travel in a different direction and accept his foretold fate. Another installment in the Brides Of The Kindred series featuring Earth girl Maggie and a slave who had fought on the Blood Circuit Korexiroth. It's a case of brains versus brawn as Maggie is the intellectual geek while Kor the muscle. I did enjoy the contrast and chemistry between these two so that was a definite plus. The story line is an action adventure premise that I enjoyed. From the first page to last there was a lot going on that really didn't have any lag time for me. Action goes from meeting on the planet to escaping to being pursued. All while fighting a physical attraction that had me growling in anger ... for the most part. I also include the subplot that Maggie has a fiance, Donald, who is portrayed as the antithesis of lovable Sheldon from "The Big Bang Theory" series. This was weaved in and out of the story line but was a big reason in the growling. :D The majority of adult content left me with a love/hate opinion. I loved the actual sensuous scenes between the two main characters though they didn't actually DO the nasty until the later part of the book. The author found many creative ways for Maggie to remain faithful to her fiance though her body needed Kor. That's all I'll say. There is one other significant adult content scene between two of the secondary characters that may tickle your fancy as much as mine but that too I won't comment further on. :D With all that being said it's kind of interesting that I gave this a three star (more to the 2 1/2) rating. When I read a sci fi story there HAS to be a degree of believability to the story line, relationship, and/or timeline to support the possibility that the book COULD happen the way the author intended. Inconsistencies, voids, and over the top slants are mood busters. That's the case here for me. Two examples (which I'm going to refer to in a vague fashion so not to do the spoiler thing) are: 1. the item traded for the Hurkon collar - ummmmm hello????? 2. when someone is made a slave they are stripped of all personal belongings including clothing, personal jewelry, and maybe other personal effects?????? I really think a beta reader or editor dropped the ball on this book if either of them were used. Lastly, I personally felt that the first installment Claimed was one of the best books of the series. It's my biggest hope that some day the author will use the formula of how the Kindred obtained Earth females in a subsequent book to keep true to the series origins. I would think there would be more than one Kindred warrior who used that system to procure his bride and that it wasn't an isolated event. At least that's my wish..... This is a book a fan of the series may enjoy as the formula of success used by the author is still there but you should realize that it's one to enjoy on a superficial basis as there are definite voids that may be problematic if you dig below the surface.

Awesome, I give this book five OMG's. Evangeline Anderson once again outdoes herself with "Chained", the ninth book in the Kindred Bride Series. Fate steps in (or a lovely goddess), that leads her in a different direction, face to face with the strong, hunky Kindred warrior she has been dream sharing with. It was fun to revisit the kinky world of Yonnie Six ( one of many crazy kinky worlds). Maggie is timid, nerdy, accident prone, but also compassionate and empathetic. She is haunted by the tortured, alluring man in her dreams and knows it is her destiny to rescue him from his imprisonment. Kor is a mix of opposite. He is a fierce, angry, proud Alpha male forced into a life of slavery and bloodshed. At the same time he is a hero who becomes Maggie's protector , friend and lover. He is also very hot and sexy with that undertone of possible danger. With Kor, Maggie blossoms finding her inner beauty and bravery. With Maggie, Kor finds freedom and love. Love is not always smooth and there are several "oh no" moments. I was addicted to the book from the beginning. It is a wild crazy thrill ride filled with adventure, romance, many hot awesome love scenes on some crazy (some kinky) planets. I give it 5 blushes on the erotic scale, all set within an enticing story. As many of the characters and places from the previous books reappear, you feel like this is part of a familiar world you can't get enough of. Now comes the painful wait for book ten in the series. The two chapter preview at the end of the book is quite a teaser. So in the meantime I guess I will have the pleasure of reading "Chained" again , Yeah!

There is a darkness though that wants Kor’s body for its own. Can Maggie save him? Can she make up her mind to love Kor before it is too late? I found Chained to be really well paced and extremely hot. I really was cheering for Kor to be saved. Maggie is a sweet passionate person who was perfect for our tortured hero Kor. What I love about this particular series is the story seems to fly by. I can get lost in the story itself. The hot sex is just icing on a really yummy cake. There is sweet angst, and lots of love in this book that keeps me wanting more of the Kindred and the people they love.

I've enjoyed the Kindred novels and they are one of my favorite romance series. This was good but it had it's annoying points too, why I docked it a star. Namely the Donald char was a complete knock-off of Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. Maggie's loyalty to him gets tiring after awhile, honestly after you manhandle a strange man what difference does it make what you do after that? (Spoiler Alert) The point where she and Kor have issues toward the end is rushed and makes no sense at all. He leaves I've enjoyed the Kindred novels and they are one of my favorite romance series. All she has to do is explain she still cares as a friend and plans to break it off, yet she lets him run off. Then when he becomes possessed or whatever they call it, he destroys towns and probably kills people yet there's no mention what happens to his mother after this and he's allowed to just go back to the Kindred ship with a happy ever after? All those points aside it is a good read and I'll probably read it again someday. I look forward to more from this series. I can tell the setup already for the next couple books from new chars introduced but it'd be nice to see something where kindred have a 'meet and greet' on Earth for women who want to marry a kindred man. They really push the draft in the books or meeting one through someone you know but I'm sure there's woman who would like to potentially marry one. And apparently there's a large supply of them available. Remember the draft was big but in every war there's always volunteers. =)

A nice erotic read with plenty of action. I have to say I am getting tired of Vonnie six, so I hope this is the last story happening in that planet. Maggie studies alien herbology and creatures, and for this reason she is on a spaceship to an inhabited planet to study the plants and stuff there. On their way there they have to get some important documents from Vonnie six in exchange for a pain collar. What ever happens to the documents is not really clear to me... Maggie has been dreaming about a big male, in terrible thirst. It turns out, this is the new unbroken slave of her host. (view spoiler)[She goes to save him, and they flee to an alien spa, where she pretends to be mistress to the slave, she named Kor. To keep up appearances, he makes sure to pleasure her through and through, without actually doing the deed. Kor is the son of the swamp witch and a dark entity with no body. His parents are not happy with Maggie, since they have been conditioning Kor to be an evil being, so his 'dad' can take over his body. They do everything they can to get between the two lovers. When Maggie is supposed to be picked up by the Kindred, Kor leaves her on the landing platform, to go his own way. But instead of the Kindred, Kors former mistress finds Maggie, and captures her. She gives Maggie a Slut button, which takes 6 months, and all this time Maggie is kept in stasis. Then she is sold on the slavemarket. (hide spoiler)]

I love this story so much. Maggie was such a klutz (somehow I really relate to this-oops). She's a total xenobiology/xenobotanist nerd who gets caught up in adventure she had no idea would change her life! LOVE IT! She encounters a slave by the name of Kor who I must admit is the hottest KINDRED so far IMO. He knows exactly what to say (think really most excellent dirty sex talk) but Maggie is in total denial and closed off. She is engaged to another scientist who is not so much engaged. All you others who haven't had the Kindred experience yet, you need to read these in order as you won't know much about secondary characters and world-building unless you do. There worth it! HAPPY HOT READING!

Very disappointing and not erotic at all. This was not a good read. I did not mind the clumsiness and the funny aspects of the book but I found that there was just not enough erotica in this book. Kor and Maggie only get together once in this book and that is towards 80% of the book, so it did not work for me as erotic. First thing is the blurb or description of this book was tragic and made not very appealing but I did really like Kor character even tho Maggie was a little annoying especially about Donald who turn out to be even worst boyfriend then Maggie described imagine sheldon but million times worst. Did struggle a lot with the slave parts of book which unfortunately is a lot in this book but ended well even tho no mention of Reddix being actually related to Kor came up. Evangeline Anderson's erotic sci-fi romance series- Brides of the Kindred- are like mac and cheese; comfort food the whole way. She's my favorite "formula read" author. She always delivers the same flavor and I know what to expect and love going into the read with that precept. Anderson manages to insert enough variance in plots that there's plenty of surprises along the way to keep it interesting. She has a real sense of humor, especially about food. Keep writing! OK, this one was good! We first met Kor a few books ago and I figured that he would one day get his own book. It was worth the wait. When we are first introduced to him at a gala on Yonnie Six he appears to be a monster. But when his story is told we find out that he was turned into a monster because of circumstance and that is not his true nature.

Love Kor and Maggie This was a great addition to the brides of the kindred series. I Love the quirkiness of Maggie and her ability to elevate clumsy to a high art . And Not was a wonderful character part deadly gladiator and part lonely tortured soul.Together they we able to save one another from a life of settling and slavery.

Before the book even starts there are a couple of author’s notes leading into the first chapter, one of which states that the reader will be “totally lost” if they read this book without reading the other eight books in the series first. Of course, I ignored this warning. I was looking for one sci-fi romance read, not nine. I’d already bought this book and I was unwilling to part with the money for the other eight. Of course, I ignored this warning. I was looking for one sci-fi romance read, not nine. I’d already bought this book and I was unwilling to part with the money for the other eight. In all honesty, I didn’t suffer for it – other than the random sex scene between the characters from book eight in the series at the 20% point. What was that about? Don’t the sex scenes between the characters belong in their own book? It was made even more awkward by the fact that this book’s characters weren’t particularly close by this point. In hindsight, it is likely that I made a mistake with Chained. I wanted sci-fi with some romance. Instead I got erotica with a sci-fi setting. What’s more, I didn’t find the erotica all that erotic. Indeed I found it clunky and awkward. Furthermore, there is liberal use of the “c-word” here, a word that I loathe. I cannot understand how any woman would want to refer to her lady parts in such a derogatory way. Had it not been for the awkward erotica, I think I’d have liked the book. The sci-fi elements were very interesting; I just wish they’d been explored more! In the story Maggie, a human scientist, finds herself making the delivery of a slave collar to a matron on a planet where the women rule the roost and men are slaves. When she meets the slave destined to wear the collar and learns of its unique abilities, Maggie realises she can’t abandon the slave to this fate. So she commits grand theft slave and Maggie and Kor run away together to a very upscale spa resort where payment is made in extreme emotions of pleasure of pain. The two have a bit of a spat, though, and unfortunately for Maggie when Kor abandons her, the matron she stole him from captures her. Next thing she knows, she has a bio-mechanical implant that slowly causes her more and more pain until she is sexually stimulated (yeah… I know). Luckily for her, Kor returns to save the day and help her get her life back. The second half of the book is essentially one big long foreplay scene that eventually culminates in the actual act around the 75%-80% point. When they actually get around to the act, though, it wasn’t for the reason I wanted (which would have redeemed the book a bit for me) and involved some weird role play that really didn’t work for me. Maggie, it should be noted, has a financé, Donald, and spends a lot of her time anguishing over how she is cheating on him when really she wishes she could ignore her attraction to Kor and be loyal to Donald. This would work better if she wasn’t constantly putting Donald down. For example, check this gem: “especially Donald whose equipment reminded her of a shy, skinny worm afraid to come out of its hole. In contrast the prisoner had a python between his legs.” This is at the 9% mark and it continues on in this vein throughout the book. This made their whole engagement moot. Donald simply existed as a sticking point preventing Maggie and Kor from being able to really be together, emotionally and physically, until the end of the book. Definitely not the book for me. I would give it two stars but I’m docking one for this quote: “*after man insinuates that Kor will want the implant in Maggie when she refuses him sex for a few nights running* Arguing women’s rights with such a misogynist was like arguing the evidence of God with a diehard atheist – nothing but irritation and frustration would come of it.” Well, gee, thanks for the comparison there. Good to know where I stand!

This book is about a Clumsy Scientist named Maggie, and a lost and broken Touch Kindred named Therron. When we first Meet Maggie, she is already off to a bad start with a mixup on Bonding Fruit Cake. Maggies hopes to explore a new planet called Gaia, but first she will have to brave Yonnie Six, our Female dominant Planet, to retrieve Kindred Documents. Maggie was never supposed to leave the Kindred Ship, but alas, her Kindred pair she was travelling with fell ill at the last moment. Maggie was never supposed to leave the Kindred Ship, but alas, her Kindred pair she was travelling with fell ill at the last moment. But this is whee Maggie gets herself into the biggest amount of trouble she has been in yet. Upon stepping on Yonnie Six, and being the Guess of the Depraved Lady Nola Pompe'Nose, Maggie was doomed to make a very bad mistake. She first Meets Therron, who she gives the name of "Kor" to. Therron has never known anything but pain, violence, suffering and Death. Nicknamed The Demon on the Blood Fighting Circuit, he was meant to be executed until Lady Pompe'Nose brought him as a "Slave". Never wanting to be broken, he was punished in Lady Pompe'Nose' Dungeon until Maggie decides she wants to release him. Our journey starts with Maggie impersonating as Lady Pompe'Nose to escape from Yonnie Six, to then having an argument with Kor, to her then spending six months in Stasis. when she finally wakes up, she is horrified to find she has a "Slut Button" growing in her Navel. The Evil Bitch Pompe'Nose wishes to sell her as a "willing" slave for impersonating her and releasing her slave. Kor rescues her, and they set off on a journey to find the maker of the "Slut Button" to get it taken out of Maggie. Along the way we see Kor not wanting to remember his past, but is forced to. We also See Maggie, a sweet kind woman who would do anything for her self-obsessed, clean freak, OCD Finance Donald. Both facing battles of their own they do not wish to say their feelings for one another out loud. Given a chance to be together, Maggie is then forced back to Earth by an event that means she had to choose her normal life, or the "Fantasy" she had with Kor. I must say, I loved the whole storyline of Kor and Maggie, and their little adventures. I really detested her Finance Donald, who only ever thinks of himself. He reminds me of Sheldon Cooper from the TV Series The Big Bang Theory. Only Worse. I am glad Maggie finally sees Reason and chooses to be with Kor. But I also hated the storyline of Kor being taken over by the Shadow Demon. Pitiful and slow, it had not much of a drama or anything. Again the Swamp Witch of the Touch Kindred makes an appearance, but she AGAIN acts like a petulant child. If the Shadow Demon and Kor have a role to play in future books, I do hope it becomes interesting. I really don;t like that Donald has a role by the looks of it int he next book, but lets see where this new Bad Guy thing will head. So far, I have not been impressed with the Villans in this series, they always have a fizzle, and never a bang.
