This was a very intriguing book and has been/will be quite useful to me. For a long time I seemed to feel stuck in between two distinct options: out-manipulation, or letting people use me as a doormat. I went for the latter, since I didn't want to manipulate others anymore---but that doesn't build healthy relationships either! So, for me perhaps the most helpful/enlightening part of this book is the advice on how to handle these situations in, to quote the book, a "non-reactive" manner. The author gives great insight and tips for how to cultivate a healthy, mutually-beneficial relationship (be it romantic, platonic, familial, etc..). I will continue to use this as a reference book for years to come! As a definite bonus, the writing itself is easily-digestible and entertaining. The author seems very down-to-earth and speaks to you as a friend who cares about your relationships, not some distant lecturer just spouting theories. A definite recommendation for anyone (man or woman) looking to improve communication in their relationships! (And who doesn't want/need that?!)
