3.75 Stars! I don't know what it is about that Kindle Alexander but her books just work for me! I did have some issues with this one though... I kid you not, Gage said (and thought) some of THE cheesiest stuff when it came to Trent. "Your grins touch my heart." "The kiss reached out and touched his soul like the man sitting next to him did every time he did these unexpected things." "Goodnight, handsome. Dream of me. I'll be dreaming of you." "My guy holds my heart." If a guy I was dating 3.75 Stars! I don't know what it is about that Kindle Alexander but her books just work for me! I did have some issues with this one though... I really should've hated this book! LMAO! But color me shocked...I didn't! I actually liked it. Kindle made it work. Cheese and insta-love aside, Gage and Trent and the kids were really sweet together. And the added bit of "suspense" spiced things up!

A barely disguised Harlequin Romance that belongs on one of those spiny wire racks in the library with the medical romances. Honestly, I can see it there but with a new title like … “Billionaire for his babies” or something similar. Before I tell you why this didn’t work for me know that there is a lot of love for this … gem, and once again I am in the minority. I’ll try not to be to be too offensive. Firstly, like I said, this reads just like a Harlequin romance: the set-up, the insta- attraction, the super famous and rich bachelor who abandons his ‘I don’t do repeats’ dictum for the humble uber-hot girl guy, whose struggling to do his best for his adopted kids. Now I can cope with all that, but what I can’t deal with is the dialog, formulaic descriptions and the very hetero feel of this novel. When crossing over to the m/m genre it really is a lot more than swapping her for him, and excluding a vagina in favour of anal sex. I see that now. It’s not only that - it was the thoughts and convictions of Trent that where too womanised for my liking. Example: Trent checked the cooler he kept outside, the ice held up even in the summer sun, keeping the drinks, the potato salad, and mayo all cool inside. The table looked ready; disposable plates, napkins, bags of chips all ready to open. Everything looked perfect Would a real man really give a toss about what the table looked like? Okay maybe some gay men, but not the uber macho Trent. I don’t see a man like Trent crying and sobbing over a fella after two weeks of knowing him either. There’s a whole lot of lip slanting kisses, rigid cocks, soul stealing gazes, tongue thrusting into ears (!!!) possessive caveman thoughts, dazed looks, confessions like ‘ your kisses undo me’ , unexplained needing, healing, stirring heart strings, cute kids, and despite all of that, I actually finished this book. There was just something about those Harlequin romances way back then, that compelled me to finish them, even though I rolled my eyes and face palmed all the way through (yes, even at the age of 16) and the same reasons apply here. Despite the clichés, the characters still engaged me and I wanted the hearts and flowers happy ending I knew was coming. The biggest fail, and it’s pretty HUGE considering, is that this book does NOT work as an m/m novel, not at all. Sowwwwy.

4.5 STARS ~ This book is an excellent love story, where even the most hardened heart and disillusioned soul can find the romantic streak hidden deep within and see it blossom into something neither thought possible. I fell in love with the author, her writing and the characters… just go read it!!! Want to know who the author was dreaming of whilst writing… Ryan McPartlin and William Levy… PERFECT CHARACTERISATION! This book was a recommendation and I will be forever thankful for 4.5 STARS ~ This book is an excellent love story, where even the most hardened heart and disillusioned soul can find the romantic streak hidden deep within and see it blossom into something neither thought possible. I fell in love with the author, her writing and the characters… just go read it!!! Want to know who the author was dreaming of whilst writing… Ryan McPartlin and William Levy… PERFECT CHARACTERISATION! This book was a recommendation and I will be forever thankful for being introduced to this very talented author… so I would like to share the love and wholeheartedly recommend this book… you get great character development, it is laugh out loud funny in parts, there are two smart and cute children that are not just a token gesture, secondary characters that bring life to the story, some very hot, intense and steamy man loving, hilarious text messaging, scenes that will move you to tears and a twist at the end that I never saw coming, throwing a little angst and action in too… Plus an epilogue that will melt your heart and rounded it all up in a complete and wonderful package… yes, I LOVED THIS BOOK! One man totally grounded and committed to looking after his niece and nephew and the other, a man whore, driven by success and never turns away from something he wants. Two very different characters, yet there is no denying their attraction. The Current Between Us… Perfect title for this book as there is an underlying sizzling sexual chemistry between these two, that practically set my Kindle on Fire! It had been four years since the tragic death of Trent Cooper’s sister, in that time he had played the perfect father to his sisters children, Em and Hunter. They were the centre of his universe, he couldn't possibly love them more, and caring and providing for the two little people that had become his life had never been a chore, for him it was a joy and a privilege and also a responsibility never taken lightly. Oh… He had once been that guy, where meaningless and anonymous sex and nights clubbing were the norm but as a single parent, those days were long gone, along with his sex and social life now non existent and as a father he also needs to be disciplined, has to be, he wants to make a success of his electrical contracting business without it encroaching on the valuable time he has with the kids. The first thing that hits you about Trent is just how caring and compassionate he is, he has a big heart and loves the children dearly, and although he has Aunty Crazy and Rhonny the live in Nanny who are his support network and friends, he is incredibly lonely and misses his sister who was also his best friend. Gage Synclair is an investigative photojournalist, he has spent years in the poorest of countries bringing the world stories that have hit the headlines for their tough, no holds barred, dangerous revelations. He is now working on his last story, the pinnacle of his career, one which he has ploughed thousands of his own money into making and the expose will hit several countries hard including the U.S, bringing a man who had committed atrocious and nefarious acts to justice. The timing has to be perfect to coincide with the opening of his new gallery and hopefully launch a new career as a desk broadcaster for one of the large networks. Trent luckily picks up a new job, one that will hopefully help him build his business and it just so happens to be Gage’s Gallery. Now Trent is familiar with Gage… as the man is his freakin hero, he is totally in awe of him and has a copy of every report he has ever made, but not only that, meeting Gage was making his body react in ways definitely not suitable for a construction site and certainly not in front of the man himself! And Gage is no better… he is driving himself crazy with his attraction and fantasies of Trent… and the whole thing was baffling him, how could he be? Trent is a married man with children, or so he thinks! Gage wrapped himself around Trent, sliding his hands up under his suit jacket, pulling Trent fully against his body. The kiss was hot, but tender, and went on for several long minutes. Both were rigidly hard, brushing their cocks against one another. It was the most erotic kiss of his life and Gage had had some kisses. Never had one turned him on like this stolen kiss in a darkened neighborhood of a Chicago suburb. He wanted this man. God, he wanted him badly, but he wanted Trent long term. The thought of wanting this man for many years to come stunned him and made him feel like a happily drowning man. I love the journey Kindle Alexander takes us on with these two boys, we see them grow emotionally before our eyes and our initial impressions are dispelled as they both open their hearts for the first time. Our first glimpse of Gage is that of a selfish man, ambitious, driven, a hard ass no nonsense type of guy, wanting the best and demanding it, with a string of nameless one night stands in his wake and certainly doesn’t give you the warm and fuzzies. But Gage is an all or nothing kinda guy… when he wants something he goes for it, and he has never wanted anything more than he wants Trent! Trent that had stolen his heart... his sentiment and courting was a little on the saccharine side of sweet, but for a man that had previously been an egotistical arse, all these feelings were new and holding himself back was not an option… he was like a lovesick teenager and this was his first love and he just couldn’t get enough. It wasn’t just Trent either, Em and Hunter also pulled something from deep within and watching this transformation of Gage, made my heart melt. There is no past trauma in Gage’s life that had hardened his heart to love… he had just never been receptive to it and it was cute seeing him realise just how much he wanted to be part of Trent’s life and family. Trent had been so immersed in caring for Em and Hunter he had lost a part of himself along the way, he had previously been fun loving and flirty, now he was a man lacking in confidence in the dating department, despite the best efforts of Rhonny and Aunty Crazy. He has reservations about the whole dating scenario, it is obvious that Gage has money, and lot’s of it and they were poles apart in the social standings and getting involved with Gage would only bring heartache… only his heart isn’t listening and he hadn’t realised what he had been missing… Gage gave him confidence, made him feel good about himself, and Trent is so unassuming, he has no idea that men find him attractive, he is totally oblivious, however Gage is only too aware of Trent's charisma and it made me smile just how effusive he is… overwhelmed with how full his heart is, he loves Trent and that in itself is a revelation, for the first time he is considerate of someone else’s feelings and he will do whatever it takes to keep him and his family in his life. These two men are combustible together and Kindle Alexander certainly didn’t skimp on the sex scenes… OH NO!!! The passion between them was intense, erotic and heart poundingly… HOT, leaving me in a puddle of lust! They both connected on a level neither thought possible… their desire consumed them, but it was so much more than sexual attraction, everything fit and the chemistry was palpable! Just when you think everything is going to end all hearts and flowers, there is a bombshell that is dropped, which threatens to throw not only the romance but Trent's whole life apart, I have to admit I never saw it coming and the connection is there as plain as day throughout the book. I was pissed off at Gage’s actions and my heart was breaking for Trent, but it was a thrilling addition to the story and certainly had my blood boiling! But what transpires, more than makes up for it and the epilogue was just Aww Bless! Highly recommended read... what are you waiting for, get a wriggle on and discover for yourself what a great book it is!

His persistent with having his feelings known, even when Trent was showing hesitation to open his heart. "These feelings I have for you are so strong. I've never had them for anyone before you. It's a little scary..." A want that grew to become an all consuming love that couldn't be denied. ""You're the end of this road. I want you. I want to be with you." "I'm hot for you, Trent Cooper. I can't get last night out of my mind... I loved making love to you." Mates, I think I'll leave it at that delicious quote and just add again how awesome and unbelievably good this book is. Not a boring bit in to be read. So make sure to grab a copy and get caught in the current between Gage and Trent xx

It started a little hesitantly but oh how I then got hooked on these guys. It was cute, really hot and very emotional. Trent Cooper is an electrician with his own firm that gets a great and urgent job for the famous reporter and photographer Gage Sinclair who is soon to open a new photo/art gallery. Gage has never had the time or desire for relationships but becomes immediately very interested and attracted to the sleek green-eyed electrician. Trent has neither the time nor the inclination with fast loose connections or flirting when he's working. He is constantly busy with everyday life, the dead sister's two young children he adopted four years ago, the company, the employees, to support the family and to catch enough sleep. “From where I'm standing, an electrican looks to be a very sexy job... All those belts and hard hats...How does one go about becoming an electrical contraktor?” In addition to two men who are attracted to each other and everything around it, there are also some great surprises here. Although sometimes it is predictable, it never too cute and messy. These men are still independent men of integrity and natural feelings. Obviously and naturally got Trent's two wonderful little children my heart (just like Gage's) and they also gave the story extra charm. Yum - I liked them all! For me, this is good and easy read entertainment literature. I enjoy and feel happy to read this kind of books now and then. As I've written about another of this author's books (Texas Pride) so is her gay romances, in some respects, comparable to the so common contemporary romances with a wealthy man and a woman of the people. The design and feel is a bit the same, for me - in a good way. Very steamy, pretty simple, nice kids, grand love, rather rushed and perhaps not entirely credible - but so likeable M/M entertainment. Mrs. Alexander's books will probably continue to be given straight into my TBR shelf. I have found a shape and style in these books to suit all days between any more anguished and tough books or the much more sugar sweet "boys who loves boys" books I often read. Excellent romance for women like me. I LIKE - oh yes I do...

***3 Stars*** I liked this one, just didn't love it. What can I say? I'm not a hater of insta-love, but sometimes it's just too much. I found myself doing a lot of eye rolling at the fact that within a couple of paragraphs, Gage went from being the lover of eternal one night stands to falling madly in love and wanting a family and forever with Trent. Call me a skeptic, but Ok, I won't be totally negative about it. I did love the family dynamic in the Cooper household. Emmie and Hunter were adorable and added an extra carefree layer to the story. But at times even that felt too forced. The easy transition and addition of Gage to the family didn't quite feel natural....it was a bit too rushed. Now the steam....well no complaints there. Okay maybe one.....I wanted more!! Does that make me slutty? And the wonky twist at 75%... I had a feeling, but I kept thinking....Nah, the author won't do something that obvious and dare I say, lame. But nope, there it was. I'm afraid to say I couldn't even take it seriously. Overall, this was a low on angst, feel good, I love you, you're my everything read. It was good enough to keep me reading, but not so much where I felt fully invested in the outcome. I just wanted a happy ending and closure. I mean, I wasn't looking for anything heavy, but sometimes you gotta ask yourself As I'm sure you've guessed this wasn't a favorite of mine from this author. That distinction still stays with Texas Pride and Double Full, but it definitely won't stop me from reading more of her books. Sometimes there's just a bump in the road. And that's my ramblings on that.

What he doesn't bank on is his sudden fondness for the master electrician that just walked through his front door. Trent about fell over when he realized his newest work assignment is for none other than THE Gage Synclair. He's got all of his TV specials. He's been enthralled with him for years, following his adventures around the world. When Gage propositions him for a quickie in the office bathroom, he's taken back. Sure, Trent's gay but he's not up for that kind of relationship, plus he doesn't mix business with pleasure. After all, he's got a family depending on him and this is a big gig. Having adopted his late sister's two children a few years back, life revolves around them... Nothing will come before those kids. Not even this perfection standing before him, brushing against him.....So he kindly tells Gage he "doesn't roll that way." Can Trent withstand the pull of Gage? Gage can't believe the guy turned him down! He's obviously straight...seeing him with two kids in tow. But why can't he just move on to the next guy? Because Gage wants Trent. This is a first.... This is seriously hot romantic MM story. It has a nice mixture of mystery and suspense to add to the page turn-ability. I read it in a day. Character development is great but still holds the element of surprise you didn't see coming within the storyline. Was the WTF surprise moment a little far fetched? Yah, but in the end it all ties together nicely. A great book to satiate my need for an MM fix!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story which brings together the hard-hitting investigative journalist and the hard-working single dad electrician. The story starts, as the title suggests, with a sexual attraction between the two men. Gage is a celebrity. He is wealthy and used to travelling the world. He has no problem with casual hook-ups and can get any man he wants. Trent is your average man with responsibilities including children and a business to run. He gave up casual affairs when he took responsibility for the kids. However, as the book progresses, and their emotional connection deepens, it is clear that they both really want the same things - it boils down to a committed relationship and strength of family. The story wasn't perfect and did have a few small issues for me but nothing that prevented my enjoyment. I didn't like Gage propositioning Trent the way he did at their first meeting and was very glad that Trent turned him down. It was pleasing to see that Gage's character evolved to a man with more depth, pretty quickly into the story. I also found the first 25% too focused on the raging hard-ons each man seemed to continuously sport - I understood that they were wildly attracted and didn't need this type of ongoing reminder so found this reference a bit repetitive. On the positive side, I think Kindle Alexander did a wonderful job with the children. They were very cute characters and their actions and dialogue also seemed very realistic. Quite often I find the dialogue of children is too childish, as if the use of lisping baby-words is needed to convey age. But not so in this case. The kids were wonderful. I also think I want to give 1 star just for Auntie Crazy! Everyone needs an Auntie Crazy in their life! One final point, on the Abdulla plot line. This was sort of simmering in the background for most of the book and almost had me wondering why as I was enjoying the story of the relationship development without any added complexities. Therefore I was wondering about the significance of Gage's last report. At 75% this really kicked in and most definitely wasn't what I expected as I had assumed something entirely different happening. (view spoiler)[ I assumed that Gage would duck off to do his report and be injured or captured or something similar which would trigger him and Trent making a bigger commitment to each other. I wasn't expecting the involvement of 'Aaron' - maybe I was a bit blind to miss this? (hide spoiler)] . This twist provides lots of tension and action. It had a really different feel to the rest of the book. Regardless, I totally enjoyed the ending as I am always a fan of grand gestures and declarations of love! This book was also good value for money - $ vs pages vs enjoyment factor!

When Gage hired Trent to work on his gallery they were both instantly attracted to each other. While Gage is more aggressive in his pursue, Trent is a more reserved guy. Trent didn't even want to let his co-worker know that he is gay. There is an insta-love from Gage part because he is simply too smitten with Trent. He fell fast and fell hard. For people who are allergic towards insta-love, this might not work for them. The kids are featured prominently in the book. When I first met them, I thought they are too overwhelming. I mean I can't stand a 4 year old talking insistently to me. But after getting acquitted with them, you might just find them cute. I find the story to be pretty low on drama. Gage slowly worm his way into Trent's heart, while Trent slowly accepting that Gage is being serious about their relationship. My attention kind of drifted after the second half of the book. However, the author throw in a shocking twist towards the last quarter that had me popping my eyes out. Although the twist seems a tad far-fetched, it really did spice things up towards the end.

I am fairly flabbergasted by the high rating of this particular title. This book was, to my mind, a complete failure as a depiction of a m/m relationship. On top of that the story telling, dialogue, relationship development, and plot of this book was of an extremely poor quality. Perhaps I am a lone entity to have such a reaction to this book, but I really cannot see anything about the book that was worth the time spent reading this.

He stopped his ONS ways when he started caring for his sister’s children. The kids were adorable and really made the story. Gage had never really planned to settle down. He tended to have one night stands on a regular basis. When he met Trent, he decided he was going to be his, end of story. Gage fit right in and the children were taken with him immediately. He was really good with the children from the start. Gage's family was awesome and accepted Trent and his children no questions asked. I definitely had an OH SHIT moment…I did not see that coming. It all worked out but getting there was a very emotional journey. I think I shed a few tears… One thing that bothered me and kept this from being 5 stars for me was after all this time, Gage immediately jumped to conclusions (this was during the OH SHIT moment). I hated how he treated Trent. It was like he really didn’t know him at all. My heart was breaking as I felt the pain from Trent. Luckily it all worked out and all was forgiven but getting there was tough. The Epilogue was beautiful and I’m glad the author chose to include that. I appreciated the fact too that Gage accepted the children as his own and they were a happy family. It was a beautiful ending to a wonderful story.

But let’s do this chronologically, since I took notes – a good 1,700 words of mental facepalming. The writing style initially screamed serious novel and felt slightly more polished when compared to what I’d been reading recently. The latter changed quickly, when obvious weaknesses occurred early on – such as sentence elements being attached in ways that subtly change the meaning, or having both protagonists do the clumsy “let’s check in the mirror to catalogue my looks” routine. And wow, Gage is sleazy. XD He’s also incredibly slutty. I’m not talking about the promiscuity – they both seem to have that down pat – but rather the blatant way he keeps checking Trent out. In company, no less. Amazingly unprofessional, not to mention rude, (view spoiler)[after he’s already been turned down (hide spoiler)] . Entitled little shit. Heh. Apparently Trent has “the sexist butt crack” Gage has ever seen. Bad crack; you should be ashamed of yourself. I’ll admit I enjoyed the electrician details. It may not have lasted long, but I like to become immersed in something unfamiliar as a side effect of my romance. Strange but true. Could have done without the celebrity name-dropping, however. That always feels more than a little awkward. I am amused at how Trent handles the kids when he goes shopping; the necessity to keep dragging Hunter back until he just grabs him under his arm like a football, and Ema babbling all the time. The kid interactions at that point and subsequently ring mostly true to me. Those two children may be somewhat idealized, but they are neither props nor annoying. And they’re mostly age-appropriate, which is rarer in fiction than you’d think. But there are also instances of clumsy, some of which should have been caught in editing. Such as mixing up possessives with plurals. Or plain thoughtlessness such as using “less than a second” for something that can’t possibly have been that brief. (I.e. receiving and reading a text message; typing up a comparatively long answer with proper punctuation; sending it. Even just on the network side of things, this would have taken more than one second, never mind the human element.) Admittedly, it was a relief to get a break from the shape shifters and mostly-fated mates I’ve been marinating in for the past several weeks. At the same time, this is not as different as it seemed at first – it merely takes a slower approach than those rushed little volumes. This I like. Nevertheless, I would have preferred if it did not focus entirely on lust (sleazy and cheap at that) instead of emotion. Then again this is not entirely unrealistic for men. It just makes for a poor romance in this case. Either way, this mostly applies to the first third, where on Gage’s side we get a case of infatuated lust and on Trent’s a celebrity crush; after that slightly more interesting emotions take over. (Of course still way too fast, story-time-wise, but the narrative’s slow pace helps a little.) Back to what happens. (view spoiler)[You know, if Gage is trying not to show off and to keep Trent out of his family’s sight, it’s a remarkably moronic idea to take Trent to a family owned super-luxurious venue where a) people greet you deferentially by name and b) the chance of meeting or being seen by people at the very least close to your parents is high. Oh, and Gage, be sure to take him to a restaurant where you fucked the waiter, just so you can show your date how callously you behave towards past lovers. Good deal. (hide spoiler)] The language is an assortment of clichés. “The sweetest lips he’d ever tasted” and “your kisses undo me” and so forth. They stand out because they just don’t seem to fit the character(s) – in this case Gage, who should be unused to romancing anyone; plus I’d have figured him for a modern, rough-edged journalist and as such the instances of stilted speech feel off. Then again, I did mention he is sleazy so perhaps that’s part of his repertoire (even if of course this man is completely different from anyone else and he’s never felt like this before). Yes, let’s try to characterize Gage. He’s supposed to be the total package. In reality his behaviour is crude, sleazy and he speaks in stilted platitudes. Oh and he’s incredibly pretentious. In fact, he’s a total player. Even if I were attracted to him the way Trent seems to be, I still would not trust him beyond the edge of the mattress. He’s insulting too. It’s one thing to insist on paying for dinner – that seems fair in this situation – but to actually say he should be paying Trent for the company? You calling him an escort? Jeez. Now, I realize that Trent is a buff, strong guy – and not just physically – but he very much takes on the role of “the woman” in that date (luckily not the usual female character traits, though). It’s straight out of a category romance with the rich guy flaunting his supposed class and the Cinderella girl feeling overwhelmed by the luxury and out of her league. It does not sound so bad when I sum it up but trust me, reading it was giving me heavy déjà-vu. Gage, trying to be oh-so-mysterious, is blatantly evasive and kind of rude all around in his slimy way, while Trent seems like the mouse being lured into the trap. Since the reader knows Gage’s thoughts it’s of course clear it is a looooooving trap, but still. I am just glad there won’t be surprise pregnancies in this one. I can sum up the way Gage speaks to Trent up with, “Don’t talk, don’t think – just let me enjoy you.” During the entire story, from beginning to end, Gage keeps telling Trent to shush when he does not want to listen for whatever reason. Which is the case more than half the time. Showing respect? Try again. (view spoiler)[On the up-side, I was ready to gut them verbally for ignoring the condom, when that “oh fuck” moment of near miss occurred, satisfying me considerably. (hide spoiler)] Despite my complaints, there was something I liked about this. I’m not entirely sure what. Perhaps the way the story takes its time with the romance, positively wallowing in it. Or maybe the way it remains highly emotional every step of the way. (Unrealistically so, but not actually drifting too far into the realm of melodrama.) It’s… kinda bad but not entirely without appeal. *sigh* (view spoiler)[Nice how Gage does not even ask Trent before outing him in the limelight, when he knows that Trent needs to keep his sexuality private for the sake of his work. Rhonny’s terrible that way, too. Yeah, post pictures of the kids and the celebrity and the limo and the gay smooching on Facebook. I’m sure no one will try to use the kids to get at the celebrity or extort some money or simply give them hell for having a gay dad. (hide spoiler)] Discretion is at an all-time low here. On another note… Seriously? Gage’s siblings are named Garrett, Gary, Ginger and Ginny? I don’t mind the shared first letter but the parents really named two of each pair of kids basically the same? Wow. Next plot point confusion. I don’t get the big deal about the kids knowing Gage spent the night. One, they’re too young to think much of it. Two, everyone’s been quite happy up to that point to make the men smooch in front of them and be lovey-dovey – it was positively encouraged by the women. Three, if this is about attachment and expectations, that ship also sailed for the same reason. Four, if it’s about Trent being a moral example for his kids, having a committed boyfriend (view spoiler)[(they exchanged forevers just hours before) (hide spoiler)] stay over should be fine. The kids are too young and they will just think of it as a sleepover of the kind they might have, anyway. Gage’s super secret investigation bored me to death, possibly because it all felt entirely unrealistic from the get-go. (view spoiler)[And when this is what makes him blow up and become a complete lunatic it’s just… Are you serious? What the hell is going on in his brain here? The conclusions he jumps to are about as outlandish as his silly report was to begin with. I won’t even bother taking apart the logic behind either here. My brain rebels. I did feel awful for Trent. Granted, it has not been a smart move to allow all this publicity and not take better care of keeping the kids away from a new love/sex interest – but to be fair, everyone else kept railroading and forcing him into all of that. At least he was trying, which already makes him the most intelligent person in this story, and he certainly deserves much better than being treated the way he is. I’ll admit that part genuinely enraged me. I just wanted Gage to suffer. He does seem to be unhappy but I wanted more. And I wanted Trent to not make it easy for him. I needed Gage to truly make his atrocious behaviour up somehow, and not just by burying his story. This is a lot more personal than that, a much greater breach of trust against Trent. In an uncharacteristic surge of violence, I found myself entertaining visions of Trent slugging him. Hitting him so hard that Gage stumbles back on his ass and his jaw turns blue from bruising. Of course Trent ends up doing nothing of the sort; he’s a saint. But we’re not quite there yet. So Gage has kept harping on how this evil man ruined hundreds or thousands of people’s lives for his own gain. Thing is, Gage is doing that exact thing right now (in smaller numbers, obviously) and surely has been doing it before, being the type of journalist that he purportedly is. The only reason for him to pursue this report is his own gain, fame and fortune. He could just as well hand the information over to the authorities instead, as he should have done anyway – which would not endanger Trent and the kids more than they are by default. Ergo, Gage is a scumbag. And yeah, all this was glaringly obvious chapters before Gage ever even considered the notion. In consequence I’m not impressed with Gage’s “sacrifice” even a little bit. It’s nothing more than ceasing to be a vain egomaniac and instead trying for what a decent human being would do. See, this would work so much better if the book acknowledged he’d been a scumbag all along and is now being brutally forced to become a better person, taught conscience. But nope. Of course none of this is his fault and he is just so very giving. *eyeroll* I really don’t know what Trent is apologizing for later, after their fight. Everything he said was completely correct. Towards the end, when Gage prepares to *snort* intimidate the legendary mass-murderer, I’d have wanted to slap him silly, if not for the fact that I knew precisely how it would play out. (hide spoiler)] The idea that he has any sort of leverage at all is so ridiculous that the only way this book gets away with it is by doing what it has done from the start: Everything about Gage is freakishly godmodded. Nothing about him follows the rules of logic or reality in any way. I laughed. Also, I wanted to kick him. (view spoiler)[In reality he’s giving the killer leverage to use in any evil way if he so chooses. (hide spoiler)] Gage, you are a moron. Which is as good a thought to end on as any. Ah, but I won’t. Instead, I will say this: Any leeway I give to this story is due to Trent with the kids. Thus I feel it was not a waste of my time.

Re-read 4/14/19 I love “discovering” books I’ve read but don’t remember! I enjoyed this one a lot - again. ———— Such a great story. I love stories with a confirmed bachelor like Gage who goes gaga over someone. Trent was such a great guy and I loved him with Gage. There were actually no annoying side characters and the kids were great - not obnoxious.

HOT, ENDEARING, AND QUITE SHOCKING. I loved the ending!!! What a reprieve from the hard last 25% of the book. This is my first Kindle Alexander book. And I know she's a fan favorite. Most of my GR friends love her books and I know some of hers are on the top of listopia lists. So maybe I have expectations before I started reading this. And I have to be honest, I'm disappointed on the first chapter. It was quite boring. I love Trent and his kids, and Em and Hunter are very cute. But Trent, h HOT, ENDEARING, AND QUITE SHOCKING. Yeah he's a hot electrician, has a hard rocking body and he has a lot going on in his hands, but I want more personality from him. Trent & Gage And then I met Gage on the next chapter. OMG, I love him so much! XD He's one of those what I call SEXY MOFOs . MCs that are hot, go-getter, and unapologetic. I love these kinds of characters! What would I give to have those kind of men? You know, those "I want you and I'll come and get you!" kind of guys. And Gage was one of them! :D I'm so happy. He practically saved to book for me. And when he was "courting" Trent, oh my God his dialogues are all awesome and I've highlighting like crazy! Then comes the 75% of the book were the (dun-dun-dun!!!) PLOT TWIST came. It was hell. I don't know how would I feel if that happened to me. I'm not gonna tell much or even hide anything in a spoiler tag to let you guys find it for yourselves.
