I liked the first book better. The plot in this one was better and more exciting but I just didn't find myself interested in reading the story from DD's point of view. I also don't really care for her relationship to Grim and Penny. She felt like an outsider or third wheel to their relationship the entire time; better as a friend but not as a lover. Penny and Grim fit well together, DD just didn't click... I'm excited to see how Grim deals with Penny's family and there's good plot material there I liked the first book better. DD... just dunno what the author would write about except her tagging along with Grim and Penny everywhere as a third. His books focus a little heavy on religion; the constant mention of god and religious related things. I feel like a lot of that can be taken out without changing the story.

In comparison to my love of the first book, this one had to many God references. I am not saying that God wasn't a big part of the story but it felt overdone.
