During World War Two, the sheriff in a remote part of Montana dodged the draft and avoided the war. With the local men fighting overseas, the sheriff built a vicious organization that ruled through fear and intimidation. By the time the war’s survivors came home, the sheriff was in firm control of the county and its commerce. The sheriff’s reign of terror was finally challenged when he crossed paths with young Jerry Flynn and his friends; four teen-agers who still believed in right, wrong, truth, and justice. When the teens innocently questioned the sheriff’s actions, the retaliation was immediate and brutal. But the sheriff underestimated the four teenagers. Instead of running, they began secretly investigating and recording the gang’s activities; an investigation which revealed that the sheriff was far worse than anyone suspected. Soon the four teens found themselves fighting for their lives as they tried to rescue innocent women who had been enslaved by the depraved sheriff and his deputies. By the time the summer was over, the battle had expanded to include a group of former Marines, the FBI, and two Indian Nations. Together they brought their version of justice to the sheriff and his gang, creating The Legend of Camel’s Hump.

Jerry, his cousin Ray and another friend are taking boxing lessons from the town deputy. Jerry wins the match with his friend but Ike, the coach and deputy wants him to hit him more. Jerry refuses. Ike then beats the heck out of Jerry. When he and Ray get to his aunts house, she is appalled at the damage done to him and wants justice by going to the sheriff in the next town to administer it. Since the sheriff and deputy are both corrupt, it brings terror to the residents involved. Good storyline Jerry, his cousin Ray and another friend are taking boxing lessons from the town deputy. Good storyline that takes place in the 40's and brings to light the corruption that some small towns can face. The teens in the town take it upon themselves to find evidence and bring them to justice. Some editing issues but overall a good read.

Very entertaining! I totally enjoyed this story. Good job Mr. Noonan. I will be looking for more of your books to read.

While the plot was intriguing, the writing could have benefited from an outside editor. Still worth a read.
Lynne –
Very good story, very well written for lovers of the American West.

I loved this story! I loved this story! Not my usual type of reading, but something drew me to it and I'm glad I added it to my kindle. Set after WW II, the patriotism is sweet and the teenagers innocent until the incident at the boxing ring. How they handle everything that gets thrown at them while making it sound so believable is a book well written. There are small editing errors but not enough to take away from a good read. I couldn't put it down! More, please, Mr. Noonan! I loved this story! I loved this story! Not my usual type of reading, but something drew me to it and I'm glad I added it to my kindle. The story line was interesting as were the characters, but the writing style was unpolished and, at times, ungrammatical. I feel the book needed serious revision and editing before being published.
