112 pages of pure beautifulness, along with insightful (and often cute) commentary about each image from the artist, who is as brilliant as he is humble. Absolute joy.

A 3.5 for me, really, because I know so little about the story that the art didn't grab me as much as it could have. It's fun, though. The few volumes of Kingdom Hearts manga I have read did make it more interesting, since I recognized some people outside of the ones I knew just from Disney movies. My full review is up at NFNT. This artbook is absolutely phenomenal!!! I was getting the KH manga as it was published by TokyoPop but then when it all went down and KH was no longer being published, this served as a love letter to the work I had gotten to see and the work I hadn't. Luckily now more of Shiro Amano's work is available with Yen Press' publishing of the KH manga, but this will still probably be my favorite of anything they do because it's just pure love and fantastic art they've produced. I thoroughly enjoyed looking going through this art book. The packaging it comes in is nicer than Amazon made it out to be and its bigger than I expected too. There are some absolutely stunning illustrations in it. I'd love to have a few of them framed. Even though this book only covers the manga for KH1, Chain of Memories, and KH2, I would highly recommend this for anyone who's a fan. I thoroughly enjoyed looking going through this art book. I love looking at the various art for my favorite video games! Seriously, I could fill up an entire book shelf with both Kingdom Hearts and The Legend of Zelda!

This was a really pleasant read. A basic collection of manga images from the Kingdom Hearts series, it’s a great resource for inspiration and immersivity that you can return to whenever you’re after some beautiful art from Shiro Amano.

The art was beautiful. I loved looking at the color and black-and-white art in such detail. It was hard to appreciate it sometimes, as small as it was in the manga. My only complaint is the lack of details on the pictures. Or more accurately, where that information is placed. It's in the index. In reeeeaaaalllyyyy tiny font that I have to hold two inches from my face to read. I think I would've preferred it if they used the white space that was often below pictures to list this information as it p The art was beautiful. The one thing I thought would be in here that wasn't were character profile-type art. You know, like Amano-sensei playing with their expressions and poses? Works in progress, stuff like that. This pretty much just contained stuff from the manga you would've seen if you looked at the manga (some in color now, some without bar codes in the way, etc.). I was hoping for a bit more... you know, "never before seen"?

My fav part of this book is the spiffy slipcase! Its solid black, but with clear "windows" to show part of the cover illustration - the front window is shaped liked Mickey's head, and the back is "keyhole" The book is full of illustrations from the manga versions of Kingdom Hearts.
