I received this book as a Goodreads giveaway and really enjoyed dipping into it. I’m not a salesman, so can’t comment on the ‘sales lessons’ each of the 42 chapters presents, except to say it was fascinating to see how Mr Rugg had plucked his lessons out from Sci-Fi films and stories. Besides the lessons, the rest was great fun. It was these facts that I enjoyed the most. Mr Rugg is a mine of SF-related information. Indeed, some of the chapters dealt specifically with behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and these were fascinating. The writing style is easy to read and very chatty. I found myself making a beeline for the chapters dealing with some of my favourite SF topics, before then reading about those that were new to me. The book is perfect for such dipping. All in all, a very unusual sort of book, with enough fun to keep you entertained. As for the ‘sales lessons’, you’ll need to ask a salesman.
