First off let me say that the story was very promising.Unfortunately the book is in dire need of an editor. The story centers around Chloe an 18 yr old from California who moves to England with her family. Only she's not American. Because American girls from California do not call the mall a retail park. Or call sneakers trainers, or a parking lot a car park,or stores shops, or measures distance in meters. Or call sneakers trainers, or a parking lot a car park,or stores shops, or measures distance in meters. She even mentions at one point that coming from California she's never seen a real live bumble bee. What???? Since when are there no bees in America? Chloe lives with her parents and her younger brother. They all love each other and they are all happy. All the time. No really. All the time. There is no conflict whatsoever. Not even an eye roll or a sarcastic comment to each other. They are always supportive and loving and nice. The book is written in present tense and author includes the most ridiculous details that are not relevant to the story. When one of the main characters retells events that happened like 800 yrs ago, he does so in present tense. It just sounds stupid and is confusing as there is no way to draw the line between past and present in what he's saying. The spelling is fine but the sentence structure is horrible. For example.... "I gazed at him because I did like him such a lot and he was so good to look at." WORST.SENTENCE.EVER. I feel like the book was written by someone where English is not their first language, as they have no command over how the language is spoken. She also has no idea how actual 18 yrs old speak. All the characters speak in an odd stilted, formal way. When a male character states he'll be away on business for awhile Chloe says "oh no I thought, lovely Oliver gone for a week or more where to?" There are so many things wrong with that sentence I don't know where to begin. I would like to continue reading to see how the characters evolve throughout the next books, but I don't think I can get through the myriad of mistakes.

I really do love this book. The premise is completely different from any other time travel/immortal book I have ever read. The story revolves around Chloe, who just moved from California to England. (She does speak like a British person, though.)She moves to a large estate that she feels is filled with secrets. Boy is she right! While on the estate, she meets Tristan, a gorgeous groundskeeper, and Oliver, a tech-loving handsome guy. She has feelings for them both. I, for one, don't think that this makes her a slut. I think this is a problem that can happen to any girl, especially when you have two lovable guys like Tristan and Oliver. This is one of my favorite books of all times. However, I feel that it was in some serious need for a grammar cleanup. With a little revision, this could be a truly wonderful book.

The story didn't have much depth. The characters seemed lacking in personality and the plot didn't follow good narrative structure. It had potential though. It really needs to be edited quite extensively and more complication vs. resolution type situations. As it stands, it dragged because there were limited areas of plot tension. I feel bad for this review, I really do. I couldn't even make it past the third page! The grammar is terrible, and it reads like it was written by a twelve year old. The story line sounded intriguing, and perhaps with some hard core editing it could be a pretty decent book. I hardly ever bail on a book, so it has to pretty bad for me to do so. I struggled with this book, but I have a rule for myself that if I start a book I finish it. This was so poorly written it's hard to understand what's going on. The storyline has such promise, I was truly excited to read it, but it was a let down. I have books 2 & 3, but I don't know if they are worth trying to read. This book had a great concept but was poorly executed. It needed a good editor for sentance structure and to have the main character, who is an 18yr old girl form California, speak like one. There were all kinds of language flaws, sentence structure flaws, and plot issues. With some better planning and editing this could have been a really great read.

A very interesting book. Filled with young romance and a big mystery, with a little bit of suspence thrown in. This is an ongoing story about three young people who are connected in a way they don't yet understand. A very interesting book. I keep reading because I want to figure out the big mystery, but as other reviews mention the California girl is obviously british, and the sentences get a little weird. Added to my list of self published books that could have been great if their authors worked with an editor.

I really, really wanted to like this book, but it was just a bit too weird. The characters themselves were ok, and the plot was more or less ok, but... I can't say what really put me off without going into spoilers. I really, really wanted to like this book, but it was just a bit too weird. I like the story line and am curious of how it turns out. The writing is very hard to get through. There's no flow. It's choppy & distracting. I like the story line and am curious of how it turns out. The writing is very hard to get through. There's no flow. It's choppy & distracting.

There is something that kept me reading these books although I am not sure what it is. They are not the best books I have read but the story is different and I like that.
