For an English learner, read a book along with the audiobook is more pleasant than only read the text.

My 6 year old loved this one. I could tell the difference between this and the older books written by Werner. I would have rated this one 3 stars -- didn't have as much interest as the others we've read. Nevertheless we read it in one sitting and upon the books ending my son said, "let's read another one!". She not only knew how to keep her children centered on their school work, but also who to teach the to love reading. I began reading The Boxcar Children - Mystery of the Fallen Treasure and I could hear Mrs. Wilson's voice in my mind. Thank you to Open Road Media for renewing that memory. The series has been updated to reflect modern time. In this story the Alden children, Henry, Jesse, Violet, and Benny, along their dog Watch and their grandfather arrive by plane in Sunriver, Oregon to visit Grandfather's friend Victor Gonzales. Shortly after arriving Victor's daughter Marianella invites the children to join her on a SAR (Search and Rescue Training) exercise. While in the woods Watch finds a bright yellow backpack filled with jewelry and a note saying the jewelry was made by Twila's Handcrafted Jewelry Creations. Upon further investigation Twila tells them that the backpack was on Marianella's sister's plane to a buyer in Portland. When they arrive at the airport they find Adelita's plane but she is missing and not answering her cell phone. Not only that Twila arrives to talk to Adelita because the most expensive necklace is missing from the pack as well. The Alden child are on the case. Can they prove Adelita did not steal the necklace? Can they find out what happened to Adelita? How did the backpack get into the woods? Follow the clues the Alden children find. Learn more about Search and Rescue teams and how they train. This is a wonderful story bound to enthrall the young reader and evoke fond memories for those wishing to reminisce from their own childhood.

In their latest adventure, the four Alden siblings are in central Oregon, spending a week with a friend of Grandfather’s. Victor has two adult daughters: Marianella volunteers with a search-and-rescue dog team, and Adelita is a pilot. Marianella offers to let the children accompany her on a search-and-rescue training session. While they are walking through the Cascade foothills, they find a yellow backpack from Twila’s Handcrafted Jewelry Creations filled with valuable jewelry. When they return the backpack to the local jeweler, Twila tells them that a very special necklace is missing from the bag. She blames Adelita, who was supposed to fly the bag to a customer. There’s no sign of Adelita initially, but the children later learn that after she realized her baggage compartment had opened during the flight, she hiked through the area, trying to locate the missing items. Aided by their dog Patch, the children follow a series of clues to the culprit responsible for the missing necklace. While this entry follows the same light tone as the other titles in the series, it suffers from an ethical flaw: it is troubling that Twila faces no repercussions after wrongfully accusing an innocent person and attempting insurance fraud. Still, this omission seems to go over the heads of Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny, and perhaps it will not bother the young fans of the series.

When some gems and special items fall out of a plane, everyone jumps to the conclusion of that Adelita, Marianella`s sister, did it, and she was the flyer of the plane. But it can`t be true, no one could understand why she would. Twila, the maker of the jewelry, isn`t so worried when her favorite piece is missing, after a while, she does not worry, because she says, 'Insurance will take care of it.' So, that`s where the jewelry is stored. And for Adelita, she doesn`t like the feeling of being accused, but Twila does too. When Jessie, Benny, Watch, Violet, and Henry find the backpack lying on the ground in the woods, they are suspicious. And they don`t understand why it would happen. Well, in the end, they do, it happened just so Twila could make it so Adelita LOOKED guilty, but wasn`t.

The Fallen Treasure Mystery is filled with all the great things the Boxcar Children fans have come to expect from this wonderful series. This is the newest Boxcar Children our library owns. Wanted to tell the kids I'd read the first and the last. It mentions Google, GPS on a phone, and at least another Internet reference. Yet the kids are the same ages and their dog hasn't died. They are aging really well! It was a simple little mystery with some gentle misleads. Not my thing, nor my own kids, but the kids at the program were big fans (all home schooled too). This is the newest Boxcar Children our library owns. I received a copy of this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book follows four children who just moved to their grandfather's house with their dog Watch. I read this book to my kids, they were really into it and kept asking when we could finish it. I enjoyed it as well. There was a little action and mystery with a lot of fun and exciting things to learn about like jewelry and search and rescue teams. My son loves the Boxcar Children and we were very excited to read this new title together. He is really enjoying it. Although all the stories are good, it's nice to read a newer story with him as the originals have some references that are dated and I need to explain to him. As always, the adventure and mystery keep us turning the pages! My son loves the Boxcar Children and we were very excited to read this new title together. He is really enjoying it. I really enjoyed this book. I was impressed on how well Watch did on being a SAR dog, but I'm not surprised. By chapter 6, I figured out who the thief was and by chapter 10, I figured out how they did it. But I am very surprised on how quick the thief fessed up to it. Normally, it takes a good long discussion of proving it before that happens. I really enjoyed this book. I was impressed on how well Watch did on being a SAR dog, but I'm not surprised.
