What’s real? Imagine witches and warlocks walk among us. They look and act like regular humans, while they hide their special abilities. Unlike humans, who live a continuous life in which things done cannot afterwards be undone, these special individuals can tap into adjacent realities and shift the present to a new reality with a single thought. Their powers, inherited from ancestors dating back to the medieval era, have the potential for good equal to the potential for evil. A strong leadership and a supportive community is essential in maintaining their secrets and keeping their most talented on the side of the good. Unfortunately, the Los Angeles community is on the verge of a serious split between those who only want the best for everyone and those who only want power. For better or worse, when these special individuals shift their life trajectories in new directions…they sweep everyone else along with them. *** It’s 1977 and Brianna Marston is a feminist finishing up her final university courses. She’s a little bit wild, but isn’t that what being young and free is all about? It’s a new age for women and she intends to reap the benefits that new status provides her. She’s focused on developing a rewarding career and finding an adventurous lover. She’s also a witch. Her inherited powers are growing faster than her ability to control them though. In fact, she’s not sure whether one of her reality shifting spells is the reason she’s become the love interest of one LAPD officer. Jack Ross never does anything without a well-thought out plan. On track to make detective within the year, he’s lined up a perfect woman to be his wife and raise their children. She’s thoughtful, gracious, and lovely to look at, and best of all, she’s not one of those radical bra burning feminists. She desires a traditional life as a wife and mother. If he doesn’t exactly love her yet, he’s sure that he will once they marry. He’s never been in love and it seems to him that it’s as easy to love one attractive woman as another. Then one unruly, mouthy blonde lands in his arms, disrupting all his carefully-laid plans.

This is another spectacular erotic romance by Selene Grace Silver. The setting is very unique--you don't find many erotic romances set in the late 70s. The author's choice of setting is brilliant and the perfect backdrop for this story. It's a classic case of opposites attract. Brianna never expects to find herself attracted to a cop with traditional values. And, Jack is already in a relationship with someone he thinks suits his needs. I love the light paranormal elements in this story, but for those of you who aren't fans of paranormal, I would urge you to give this book a try regardless. The magical aspects are important to the story, but do not overwhelm the plot. The sexual relationship between Brianna and Jack takes front and center. And, it isn't just sex--though this book is full of mind-blowingly steamy scenes. There's romance too. These characters are made for each other, though they both try to deny it. This was such a fun read! I found myself smiling a lot. I loved both Brianna and Jack. Brianna was feisty while Jack was the perfect match for her with his idealized image of what he wants in a woman, because you can see how Brianna's personality rubs off on Jack and he loosens up. I love how he changes and adjusts as does Brianna, although I wish we could have seen more of her personality change. My only other minor complaint was that I wish we had seen more of her magic and delved a little deeper into the ritual. I'm not typically a fan of stories that end, but don't, but this one worked for me. I also liked Brianna's brother, Bowie, even though we only met him briefly. He sounds like an interesting character and I look forward to his story. Overall, an enjoyable read that I recommend.

Don't be fooled into thinking that this is your ordinary novella. "Brianna's Bewitching" is a sophisticated blend of whimsical, seductive and "food for thought" scenes. It creatively questions the long debated concepts of gender roles and equality while simultaneously leaving the reader in high anticipation. It's a definite must read. Oh my gosh, I loved reading this book!!! I loved how Jack’s character had thought he had it all figured out, and then when he sees Brianna, all those plans go out of the window! That is what happened in this book. Brianna is a witch and after completing a spell the night before, she finds out that her love interest dies in a car accident. With worries that she might have caused that, she goes to the women’s rights rally to support the women. She wasn’t expecting to meet Jack there, and she wasn’t planning on having the feelings come out that did. Jack had his whole life planned out, he wanted the woman who stayed at home and took care of the children. He didn’t want the unpredictable. He had what he thought was the perfect woman picked out to have that role in his life. But meeting Brianna caused a change in that plan right away. Jack’s and Brianna’s characters were so well written, they were completely different in almost every way possible, yet they still managed to make their relationship work. It was great to see how Brianna’s character goes from fighting her feelings for Jack, yet in the end she gives into them. My only complaint is that I wanted more!!! I can’t wait to see what happens next in their relationship in the future. All in all, I would recommend this book to all of my friends and I really can’t wait to read more from the series to come.

It´s the time of Womens Liberation, and Brianna is out to demonstrate, even protest via burning her bra, when she´s face to face with the total opposite, Jack the Cop. Jack´s got his life right on track, and knows he´s about to propose to his fair girlfriend, so they can start their family on time, when he´s struck by lightning. The gorgeous demonstrator awakens urges and wants that he never expected. A quick read, smutty fluff and a clear case of Opposites attract, ending in a Happy for now. Can a feminist witch-in-training successfully mate with an up-and-coming LA cop who wants a stay-at-home wife, a white picket fence, and 2.5 children? Sounds unlikely, but…you won't want to miss the bra-burning scene. (Hint: the bra doesn't actually burn, but Jack certainly does when a topless Brianna lands on top of him.) This is a prequel to a new erotic paranormal series called "The Witches and Warlocks of Los Angeles." This is only the appetizer. Can't wait for the main course! This is quick, sensual read. While I enjoyed the book, I was never enthralled with it and it felt a little flat to me. We learn more about the characters in the synopsis than in the book. They felt a little rigid to me, like they were too stuck in their stereotypes. Brianna is a young witch, and yet there is very little in the novel about her craft, besides stating that she is one and that she cast a spell that shifted reality. Brianna is a young witch, and yet there is very little in the novel about her craft, besides stating that she is one and that she cast a spell that shifted reality. There was very little plot to the story – basically it’s a quick (insta-love) romance and the focus is on their sexual relationship. The erotic scenes were well written, and clearly there is some great sexual chemistry between the characters, however there was very little development in other areas of their relationship. It was an OK story, but it didn’t feel complete to me, especially with the somewhat abrupt ending. There is definitely more to come in a second book. I received a copy of this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
