He immediately meets the lovely Penny Little and things quickly get out of hand as she assumes he's the handyman arriving to fix the plumbing. This release features a very sexy hero who lands in a heap of hot water with his stalling to reveal his true identity. Penny's life hasn't been easy, leaving her with major trust issues, and there's no second chance for those who lie. The problems surrounding Dylan and Penny are a little much to resolve within the confines of a short story. However, it was a fun, sweet, quick read and a good introduction to her full length novel, Sanctuary Island. Note: Lily Everett also writes romance under the name of Louisa Edwards.

A perfect read for an afternoon! I was drawn in from the start and didn't put this down until I got to the end. First in the Billionaire Brothers romance series revolving around the Harrington brothers. The couple focus is on Penny Little and Dylan Harrington and is set on Sanctuary Island in Virginia. Penny is a cliché with her hard-and-fast rules about no second chances and jumping to conclusions, although Everett has put in a minor twist with her playboy with a heart and an understanding for teens. Nice bit in here with Dylan remembering himself at Matt's age and taking the time to understand. I liked Jessica Bell. She doesn't allow the boys any leeway, although she too has a heart. And it seems like her personal Peter Pan has captured it. The Story Another lecture, but one that has Dylan feeling shame. Enough that he's hopped on his bike and headed out. There's a reason to make plans, to call ahead, to let people know where you'll be. As tired as Dylan is, his brain shuts down when confronted by a vision in need. Desperate to be accepted for himself, Dylan allows Penny to believe he's a handyman with dire results. The Characters Penny Little is a divorced mom with a sixteen-year-old son, Matt, and she waits tables at the Firefly Cafe. She fled her marriage to Trent and is housesitting the Harringtons' grandparents' vacation home on Sanctuary Island. Dylan Harrington, a.k.a., the Bad Boy Billionaire and the youngest brother, is sick and tired of the endless parties, the non-stop drinking, the same ol' galleries, and especially the predatory women counting the bucks in his wallet. Logan Harrington is the middle brother. A non-stop workaholic. Jessica "Tink" Bell is his extremely efficient assistant, who knows how to handle those Harringtons. Miles Harrington is the oldest and a brother without a heart. Grady Wilkes is the local handyman. Alonzo Chappelle is Penny's boss and the chef at the diner. Greta Hackley is Penny's best friend and works at the hardware store. The Cover Hey, "The Firefly Cafe" is where it's happenin'...

The Firefly Cafe is the first of a three-part series of novellas concerning the Harrington brothers. The novellas are set in and around Sanctuary Island, Virginia, and tie-in (a bit) to the new series by Ms. Everett. As I loved the majority of Ms. Everett's novels under the name Louisa Edwards, I decided to give this novella a try. I should note that I received an ARC of Sanctuary Island and read it prior to reading The Firefly Cafe. I should note that I received an ARC of Sanctuary Island and read it prior to reading The Firefly Cafe. Because of my above disclaimer, I didn't like The Firefly Cafe as much as I had hoped. It's still a good story, one that has the usual romance cliches/tropes, but it didn't affect me as much as the characters of Sanctuary Island. It's not necessary to have read The Firefly Cafe or any of these novellas to understand Sanctuary Island. I think it may have been the tropes -- billionaire brothers, unsuspecting and unknowing maid, etc. -- that took me out of the story for a little while. There is one piece of dialogue, however, that sucked me right back in. "You dummy. Don't you get it? What's left is all that matters." If you are looking for a sweet story about a billionaire who wants to mend his fences and learns the importance of people rather than the importance of things, and the maid who changed him, The Firefly Cafe is for you. It also sets up the second novella, The Summer Cottage, quite nicely.

It also helps that in each case there is a young woman there to help them make those amazing breakthroughs through the power of love. Taken as a whole, the trilogy of the brothers is very sweet if a little overly sentimental; however when each story is broken out on its own there are some issues that are hard to resolve within the limited size of a short story. Lily Everett is a new author to me. This book caught my eye, so I thought I would give it a read and see how it is. Okay, so this book was shorter than I would have liked, but I really liked Penny and Dylan. They both had things in their past, but only Penny shared her past and Dylan was afraid to, because he was the Bad Boy Billionaire that she had talked about when he had first arrived. He wanted to see what would happen between them without her knowing about his money and his name. In the end, Lily Everett is a new author to me. Heartwarming. I enjoy a fast-paced, wrench me into the world read, which is exactly what The Firefly Cafe delivered. The hero, Dylan, is the bad boy billionaire. With a good heart. Love to see a bad boy redeemed, which is exactly what Lily Everett delivers. And there's nothing more satisfying than being able to read an entire story without stopping. Great novella! I very much enjoyed this story. I did at time feel that because of the fact that it was short parts weren't fleshed out that I would have liked to know more about but in a whole, it's very good. Dylan is looking for escape and solitude when he comes to Sanctuary Island, hoping to spend time alone in his Grandparent's house. Imagine his surprise when he finds a woman and her son living there as caretakers, and she assumes he's the repair man she's been waiting for! Dylan is used to people seeing him as a playboy, a rich kid wasting his life. So when Penny has no clue who he is, he decides to play the part of handyman. He's not sure why he does this, except that he is drawn to Penny in a way he isn't usually drawn to women...for she is unlike any woman he's known. Penny is a divorced mother of a teenager getting her life on track. She has no tolerance for liars, does not believe in second chances. She also has a past of her own she's hiding, she struggles to understand her teenage son, and she is incredibly turned on and drawn to Dylan! Things heat up quickly between Dylan and Penny. But secrets don't stay secrets for long, and when Dylan's comes out before he can tell Penny, will the sense of betrayal end any chance they have together? I loved this introduction to Sanctuary Island and the Harrington brothers! Dylan and Penny are both mature adults trying to do the best they can. I can understand why Dylan doesn't tell Penny who he really is after she mistakes him for the handyman, then how hard it is for him to confess as time goes on! But relationships need to be honest, so I can also understand why Penny feels so angry when she does find out! Will she be able to put her anger aside and listen to Dylan, to take a chance on him? Or will her past prevent her from doing this, and keep her hiding from life? Lily has written a great entry to Sanctuary Island that I wasn't able to put down! Ok, at times I really didn't want to turn the page because I couldn't bear to see what happened when Penny found out about Dylan's deception! Sanctuary Island was easy to read, but at the same time went deep exploring the emotions of both Penny and Dylan. It was easy to be drawn into their life! I can't wait for the next book to come out, I'll be devouring that one too!

This book is so cute and sweet. It starts off with a bet made within the billionaires club between some billionaire bachelors. He is quite poetic in his language and is tasked to a reading for the wedding. But there is a teeny problem with that. So, Leo sets out on this island where the wedding is set to be in a few weeks to find the library and librarian to help him. He didn’t expect to find the librarian to be young, beautiful and caring. He tells her what he needs for the wedding and that he wants a fling while they are at it. She accepts. Sex fades to black in this book. But, in the end the Librarian, Serena, is hurt and Leo is also hurt. But they both have feelings for each other. So you have to read to find out if Leo has lost his chance at winning the helicopter and pad. Leo is adorable; He has an accent, is poetic and is utterly charming. Who wouldn’t want that?? Serena is smart sweet and caring and she figures out Leo’s secret but even though she is hurt, she helps him anyway. This is really a cute story. Ok, I know I said it enough already, but it is. It is an easy read for when you want something fun and short to read in between books and when you want something to lift you up a little. I look forward to reading the other bachelors stories and watching the magic of the island create some love in the air.

The first book, Firefly Cafe, is a great beginning to the series introducing us to the brothers and allowing us to get to know youngest brother Dylan Harrington. Dylan is finally growing up and has decided to leave behind his life of frivolous and meaningless encounters with random gold digging women. When he arrives at the family's home on the island he comes face to face with the first real sweet woman he's seen in many years, Penny Little. Penny is a recently divorced, hardworking, single mom who Dylan immediatley wants to get to know better. But as his feelings begin to grow for both Penny and her son, Dylan has to try to understand how he can overcome his deceit in lying about his identity so he can have a future with them. While the story was shorter than I'd like it definitly wets the appetite for the rest of the trilogy of novellas and of course the first full length novel written under this author. Looking forward to learning more about Logan and meeting Miles.

I'm a fan of novellas because sometimes I want to read, but don't feel like reading more than 100 pages. I really love a book set in a quirky small town, and Ms. Everett delivered that and more in this novella. This was a steamy romance with engaging characters that I found it easy to connect to emotionally. The secondary characters (including the town) were well drawn as well. The lead couple was immediately captivating and I was anticipating their happily ever after. I was not disappointed. The dialogue was witty, humor cropped up appropriately, and the story resonated. A short romance novella. It packs everything you want from a romance into a small container. This is the first of a trilogy of novella's and I'm already into the second. It's got a great setting, and the brief time you get to spend with the characters is enough to make them real without going over the top. This was a sweet story about second chances. I liked both main characters. They both had personal struggles and pasts to get over, but neither let things get them down. That being said, the length really hurt the story. It felt rushed and kind of unbelievable. This definitely would have benefited from at least a few more chapters. I liked it enough to buy the next two books, but I doubt it's something I'd read again. This was a sweet story about second chances. I liked both main characters. I absolutlely loved this hearwarming story of billionaire bad boy Dylan coming to Sancutary Island to escape his life in New York. Novella's are difficult for me to like in general and this was not an exception. The characters weren't really developed and the plot is rushed. The conflict was forced, as was the resolution.
