The Christmas Cabin : Valentine Valley, Book 0.5 by Emma Cane - 3 Stars Emma Cane penned a sweet, gentle, romance in The Christmas Cabin. I don't generally gravitate towards books with children in them - because they so often feel like plot-muppets - but I actually liked Nate, though he acted older than his 5 years. I really enjoyed that this was a story the couple, Doug and Sandy, told to their family each year. The first chapter definitely made me curious to read about their children even if The Christmas Cabin : Valentine Valley, Book 0.5 by Emma Cane - 3 Stars Emma Cane penned a sweet, gentle, romance in The Christmas Cabin. I really enjoyed that this was a story the couple, Doug and Sandy, told to their family each year. The first chapter definitely made me curious to read about their children even if this story didn't completely wow me. Can't Wait : Hunted, Book 0.5 by Jennifer Ryan - 3.5 Stars This is probably my favorite story in this anthology. I'm a sucker for friends to lovers, and this was such an enjoyable one. Caleb and Summer were perfect for each other. I loved how he didn't want to hurt her, or his friendship with her brother. He really struggled with how to handle the feelings he had for Summer and I particularly appreciated how he went all-in once he made up his mind. Summer, on the other hand, had no reservations about what she wanted. She made sure Caleb knew she wanted him and had no qualms about putting herself on the line. But what I really appreciated here was that we got to see why Caleb and Summer are so great for each other. Lots of small moments and conversations, and I had no doubt that they'd be happy for the rest of their years. Baby It's Cold Outside by Katie Lane - 3.5 Stars This book started off on a great note for me! The heroine was funny, in a self-deprecating way and it immediately endeared her to me. Alana likes for everything to be planned and in it's place, but she's always been attracted to the wrong sort of man. When she meets someone on the internet that appeals to every part of her - and no good picture to go by - she decides to go for it. Except then things go wonky when she shows up at his ranch to meet him. I can't say too much about the story here for spoiling it (though I think you'll probably guess the truth quickly enough). I will say that I really liked both the hero and heroine. They were smart, kind, and the chemistry between them was incredibly sexy. I have one, kind of nitpicky thing about this story. Alana gets stuck in a blizzard and to keep warm she drinks alcohol. This is a common, incredibly dangerous, misconception. Drinking alcohol while stuck in a blizzard is deadly. Now I could have gotten past this if it had later been revealed that it was the wrong thing to do, but then she meets the hero and he gives her more alcohol to "warm her." NO! No, no, NO! Please do not drink alcohol or caffeine if you're in danger of hypothermia. Again, this is a common misconception though. So I don't hold it against the story, but I had to say something. I hate that this myth keeps getting spread. Overall, I truly enjoyed this anthology and will be looking for more from these authors.

Can't Wait by Jennifer Ryan - December 6 I read the first book in the series, not knowing about this novella but it didn't lessen my enjoyment. It's a sweet romance with two people who become friends before lovers. We come in at the point where Caleb and Summer already developed deep feelings for each other. He's trying to honor some man code where you don't date your best friend's sister. She's pulling out all the stops to force his hand. Buddy read with Ange I love Christmas stories at this time of year and I also have a bit of a thing for cowboys so I couldn't resist All I Want for Christmas is a Cowboy. I was already a fan of Katie Lane but Emma Cane and Jennifer Ryan are both new authors to me and I've now added 2 new series to my wish list! If you're looking for a collection of sweet and heart warming Christmas romances then you're definitely going to enjoy this anthology - it's certainly one I'd recommend. If you're looking for a collection of sweet and heart warming Christmas romances then you're definitely going to enjoy this anthology - it's certainly one I'd recommend. The Christmas Cabin by Emma Cane - 4 stars The Christmas Cabin is part of Emma Cane's Valentine Valley series but as someone who hasn't read any of that series yet I can confirm that this works well as an introduction. From what I can gather the stories already available are those of Sandy and Doug's children so I think fans of the series who already know this couple will enjoy getting their story. When Sandy takes her five year old son Nate out into the forest to choose a Christmas tree the last thing she is expecting is to get caught in a snowstorm. Taking refuge in a secluded log cabin they realise they weren't the only ones caught in the storm and they meet the handsome cowboy Doug. This story was such a sweet romance, obviously in a one room cabin with a five year old there isn't really much room for any smexy times but I loved how Doug and Sandy got to know each other. Yes, things develop pretty quickly between them but that doesn't worry me too much in a novella, especially when there are no declarations of undying love - you just get a real sense of how well suited they are and they'll see a lot more of each other once they have been rescued. I'm definitely planning on continuing with this story and was excited to discover that the first book, A Town Called Valentine, is Nate's story (obviously set quite a few years after this one when Nate is an adult!). Can't Wait by Jennifer Ryan - 4 stars Can't wait is a prequel to Jennifer Ryan's Hunted series and is the story of Summer Turner who is the sister of Jack and Sam (the heroes of the first 2 books in the series). Again this is a series that I haven't come across before but it's one I'm planning on continuing asap. Summer has been in love with her brother Jack's best friend Caleb for a long time but no matter how many hints she gives him he refuses to make a move on her. Caleb owes Jack his life so the last thing he wants is to risk losing his friendship by making a move on his little sister but that doesn't stop him wanting her more than anything. Can Summer convince him that what they could have together is worth taking a chance for? I love a good friends to lovers romance so this hit the spot perfectly. This story has a lot more spice than the first one and I really enjoyed getting to know Summer and Caleb. I also really liked Jack and Sam so am looking forward to reading their stories! Baby It's Cold Outside by Katie Lane - 3.5 stars Katie Lane's story Baby It's Cold Outside is completely stand alone and not part of her Deep in the Heart of Texas series. Alana met Clint on an internet dating site and they hit it off immediately, he is the complete opposite of the guys she usually ends up with - much more reliable and responsible than the fun loving surfers she usually dates - but she loves that about him and is convinced they could have something special. When she travels from Hawaii to his home in Texas she gets caught in a blizzard and ends up trapped in a cabin with a hot hunky cowboy who is just like the guys she's always attracted to. I don't want to say too much about the story because it would be easy to give you a spoiler so I'll just say I liked both of the main characters. Neither of the is perfect and they both make mistakes but they have great chemistry and are really well suited to each other. This was another heart warming story that left me with a smile on my face.

Very entertaining.. Their feelings for one another, the longing and love, was very well described, and made you feel bad for them. At first it made Jack look like a jerk but he came around after talking to his twin, Sam. I thought the author got a little carried away with Caleb calling her “sweetheart.” There are so many terms of endearment: sweetie, honey, darling, love, dear, any number of things, but she was stuck on “sweetheart” to the point it became sooo repetitive in a novella. There was some good sexual tension and good sex scenes, too. Overall a nice story and I’d give it a 4 since I never skipped a page. Baby It's Cold Outside by Katie Lane OMG! I absolutely loved this story. Every single second of it. Loved Clint and Alana, as well as his family, as little as they were in it. And I have to tell you there was some real LOL moments. The remark Alana’s friend, Keiko, made about Alana sleeping with Rand? I nearly wet myself. Then when Alana knocked Clint out with a snowball. Some funny, funny moments. I’ve never read this author before but I will definitely look and see what other books she has to offer. There wasn’t much sexual tension and one 2 small love scenes but the story and the dialogue were great, so you didn’t miss it. The Christmas Cabin by Emma Cane I’m giving this story 5 stars but I’m not reading it. I’m sure it was a beautiful story but I just can’t read it. Sorry..

The Christmas Cabin- 2* Unremarkable for me. Can't Wait- 2* Gah! I really don't like this trope. Adult man and woman like each other, but resist the attraction. Why? Oh, 'cause it goes against the "bro code" to fall for your best friends sister. Whatever. It did get a little better once that obstacle was jumped over. Baby It's Cold Outside-3* Best one in this anthology. It was sweet and I really shouldn't say any more to not give anything away.

The second book you have Summer Turner and she is in love with her brother's friend Caleb Bowden. He loves her but he can't have anything to do with his best friends sister. They were in the war with each other and they are really close. This story was one of finding true love and choosing between friend ship and the love of your life that brings peace within. The third book is a funny one. Alana is going to spend some time with Clint McCormick and she gets a little surprise when she finds out that he has a brother named Rand. This story made me laugh and the best part was the snowball that Alana threw at Clint. When you read these three stories you get some really great sexy cowboys. I loved every single one and had a great time reading them. Each author did a great job with their characters. This book left me with a warm feeling inside. I can't wait to see what they have in store in the future.

Pretty good. I liked the second story best. The Kindle edition had over 10% of promo stuff. Each story had several screens worth of stuff about the authors' other work, but the at 90% it switched to a bunch promos by other authors. It seemed a tad excessive for a non-freebie book.

From sweet to silly to scorching hot, these little Christmas prequels cover a wide spectrum of styles and heat levels. I loved that no matter what the situation, the magic of the season brought everyone together in time for love to find our couples for Christmas. This has introduced me to several authors I haven’t read before but I enjoyed so much I will be searching out what else they have to offer.

I enjoyed Christmas Cabin best. Sandy, an abandoned young mother, has taken her young son to get a Christmas tree when a snowstorm strikes. They find a cabin in the nick of time, and so does a cowboy. Can't Wait was a little angst filled for me, when returning vets has one falling for the other's sister. Baby it's Cold Outside has internet dating leading to true love, with a little bump and snowstorm.

😂 like an R rated Hallmark movie. If you ever get stuck in a blizzard, have no fear apparently a Cowboy will always come and rescue you! I don’t normally read these kinds of book, and every once in a while it’s fun to read something a little lighthearted.

I have one more Christmas book I unfortunately didn’t get my review written for during the holiday season, but I wanted to let all of you know about it, because it’s a darned good book about some really sexy cowboys. I’ve been in a cowboy mood lately, and these novellas certainly hit the spot. So even though it’s holiday-themed, it’s never too late to find some fun and lovin’ in the arms of a cowboy. The Christmas Cabin by Emma Cane I really like this story. The Christmas Cabin by Emma Cane I really like this story. It’s part of Emma Cane’s Valentine Valley series, of which I’ve read one other book and enjoyed it also. Every Christmas Sandy and Doug retell the story of how they met and became a family. Sandy and Nate, her five-year-old son, are trying to find that perfect Christmas tree. Once it’s been cut down and Sandy’s dragging it back to their car, she gets a bit turned around. Fearing they’re totally lost and fearing being out in the cold and falling snow too long, rescue comes just in time in the form of a cowboy on horseback. He points them in the direction of a cabin that will give them shelter. On the way they meet up with Doug, who’s also looking for a place to weather the storm, and he also got the same directions from that lone cowboy. Inhabiting the same space while the world outside gets covered in snow gives Doug and Sandy the time to get to know one another, from her illness to his dad’s cancer and other personal issues, as well as Doug and Nate beginning a bond that will grow stronger over the years. This is one of those fun, light, and simple stories that doesn’t need a lot of bells and whistles to make it work. It strips down life and the Christmas season to their simplest forms, enjoying both the way it’s meant to be, with little fuss and muss. A very nice start to the anthology. Can’t Wait by Jennifer Ryan Summer’s crush on her brother’s best friend, Caleb, has grown into a mature love that the man knows is his for the taking, he just refuses to accept it. No matter how or when she tries to get close enough to let him know how she feels, he backs away. So much so he’s decided to leave the ranch – the temptation is just too much. And Caleb will never cross that line and move in on his best friend’s little sister. Jack saved his live while they served together – more than once – and he just can’t ruin that friendship by letting his control slip. He also has other issues related to his time at war, so as much as he wants Summer, he’ll have to do without for so many reasons. Though Summer does her best to convince Caleb to take a chance on them, she’s careful not cause friction between the two friends. Caleb is a gentleman cowboy through and through, as well as romantic and alpha once all bets are off and a life with Summer is in the cards. These are wonderful characters to spend some time with, and I’m glad we do get time with as a couple once their issues are faced and being worked on. Baby, It’s Cold Outside by Katie Lane This is my favorite novella of the book. Katie Lane is one of those authors who can make you laugh out loud with her characters’ antics, and I enjoy that so much because there’s only a few who can do it and do it right. Alana is finally tired of the surfers on her Hawaiian beaches, wanting more from a relationship. So she gets into internet dating and finds Clint McCormick – an intellectual nerd who’s responsible – just the kind of man she needs to make a life with. At the urging of her best friend, unsponantaneous Alana is in New Mexico to surprise Clint for the holidays. But first she has to survive this blizzard that has decided to hit the area just as she’s making her way to Clint’s ranch. Not having packed for a blizzard, Alana is pulling socks on her hands and anything else she can to keep warm. And this is where I laughed my butt off in this story. The scenes are written perfectly, you can just see Alana traipsing through the snow with these articles of clothing attached to her where they shouldn’t be, talking to a stray calf she’s named Bambi – she’s from Hawaii, remember! Even funnier is when Clint comes across her, singing her heart out as she tries to find shelter. I love it! Amid all of this is a huge misunderstanding, which Clint doesn’t rectify right away, thus throwing everything into turmoil, toppling the wonderful time they’ve had in an isolated cabin on the ranch. The twists keep coming at the end, making this one fun and fast read. I’ve had amazing luck the last few months with anthologies, which comes as a great surprise, because most of the time when I read an anthology, there’s usually one or two of the stories I don’t care for. But these cowboys will win you over and give you a good time, even if it is Christmas in their world. See my complete review at http://www.goodbadandunread.com

Little does Sandy know he sent cowboy Doug Thalberg to the same place. It's a Christmas all of Valentine Valley will remember. --- This novella opens with Sandy and Doug Thalberg hosting a family gathering in their cozy cabin in the woods and traditional retelling of a romantic tale that began two days before Christmas. Reporter, Jessica Fitzpatrick, sits in to hear the local, infamous story first-hand. The tale is not told in a narrative form, but rather as if it were happening real-time. It concludes with the family and Jessica in the cabin. The full cast of characters are well-written. The plot, dialogue and character interaction are believable, flow is smooth. Because of the time frame and novella length, it's hard to pack a lot of dynamics in, but it did have some minor dimension. The conflicts were fairly mild and handled maturely. Predictability was virtually nil. Overall, a super short, but sweet, read. ----- Score: 4.3 Stars: 4 ------------------------------------------------- Can't Wait by Jennifer Ryan Before The Hunted Series began … Though she is the woman of his dreams, Caleb Bowden knows his best friend's sister, Summer Turner, is off limits. He won't cross that line, which means Summer will just have to take the reins if she wants her cowboy for Christmas. --- Summer is in love with Caleb, but Caleb has it in his mind that regardless how he feels about Summer, he cannot act upon it because she is Jack's little sister. Jack's his best friend and there's a bro-code to follow. If that's not enough, they served in Iraq together and he feels he owes his life to Jack. Even more, now he's even working for Jack on the ranch. To say Summer is off-limits is an understatement. But she's determined as all get-out to make him hers. Very few novellas manage to create character depth and a full and dynamic plot worthy of a 5-star rating from me, but... here we are. Is it possible for a reader to fall in love with a novella's hero? Most definitely. Caleb and Jack's tormented souls each deserve a full-length novel. Great characters, written with loads of depth and dimension. The dialogue is smart and sassy by turns. The plot is very enjoyable and flows so smoothly I wanted more. The entire plot was based on the conflict, which obviously gets resolved in a wonderful way. I easily would have enjoyed this story and these characters if it would have been a full-length novel and am intrigued with the rest of the series as a result. ----- Score: 4.6 Stars: 5 --------------------------------------------------- Baby It's Cold Outside by Katie Lane Alana Hale hits the internet dating jackpot when she finds Clint McCormick. But on the way there, a blizzard strands her with a womanizing rodeo cowboy who could change everything … --- Alana perpetually makes poor decisions when it comes to men, but she's done with that. Through an online date-matching site, she finds her perfect man. She decides to surprise him for the Holidays at the family ranch in Taos, NM but the Hawaiian is ill-prepared for the blizzard that causes her to slide into a ditch somewhere on the ranch's property. She's even less prepared for a snow-laden calf or a sexy Cowboy Viking - Winter Warrior that finds her. This was a fun read. I totally and thoroughly enjoyed Alana. Her winter warrior wasn't too bad either. This was a REALLY short story, or is was written so well that it felt shorter than short. The flow, dialogue, interaction was smooth and believable. The plot was light and fun. Not predictable, really. There was just enough dynamics and dimension to keep it from being flat. A very well-liked novella. ----------- Score: 4.3 Stars: 4 -------------------------- Overall Rating: 4.4 Overall Stars: 4 --------------------------- Reviewing for: Smut Book Junkie Reviews Blog URL: http://smutbookjunkie.com/ FB URL: https://www.facebook.com/smutbookjunk... Once they make it there she starts a fire hoping to get survive the storm. Another stranger tumbles in half frozen and she learns he owns the cabin. They are snowed in and as Christmas comes closer Sandy tries to make the best of it. Doug hasn't been feeling the holiday spirit but Sandy gets him in the mood. He soon realizes she has showed him so much more than what Christmas is about. I really liked this story. Sandy is so strong and sweet. She may have an illness but she doesn't let it get her down. She and Doug have something special growing between them and you get to see it bloom. They share a simple few days snowed in but it shows them what they truly need. Nate is such a sweet boy you love him right away. I love how this book brought back simpler times. You don't need fancy things to have a wonderful Christmas and you never know when you will find love. Can't Wait by Jennifer Ryan Summer has been in love with her brother's best friend for a while. She just can't get him to see how she isn't just his best friends little sister. Caleb wants Summer but would never cross the line and anger his best friend. He would rather leave than take a chance on being with Summer. It's hard to fight wanting her when she lets it known over and over she is crazy for him. Will he ever let Summer get close and show her he loves her as well. Summer is a character you will love. She knows what she wants and will stop at nothing to get him. She still plays it cool around her brother as she doesn't want to cause problems. She wants to help Caleb get over the ghost of his past and show him she would be the perfect wife. Caleb is a gentleman and it really shows. He is so afraid to let his love show. He works hard and once he makes his mind up you see how romantic he is. I love how he teases Summer. This is an adorable story about two great people who try to do the right thing even if it will keep them apart. I love the ending and think it is perfect for this book. Baby It's Cold Outside by Katie Lane Alana goes online looking for the perfect man. She thinks she has found him in Clint. She decides to surprise him by going to meet him for Christmas. Along the way she gets stuck then snowed in with a hot cowboy. While she can't keep her hands off him she soon finds he is Clint' s brother. The brother who likes to play the field. She knows she has to end things with Clint and say goodbye to the cowboy who heats her up.Not everything is as she thinks and she will soon see she may have a great Christmas after all. This is a great story as you get sizzle, laughs and more. I kinda figured out what was going on but I have to say I loved Clint' s reaction near the end. Alana is awesome and can throw a mean snowball lol. I have to say one brother does seem like a jerk but I really liked Clint. They are a perfect match and you just wait for them to work things out. Overall I will say this book is wonderful as it has three fantastic stories each one gives you a great Christmas feeling. You get love, heart warming, laughs sizzle and hot cowboys. How much more could you ask for. I know I wouldn't mind being snowed in with any of these cowboys. I look forward to getting more books by all three authors as they are all great writers and you want more of there books. Looking for a fantastic Christmas book here it is.

Doug had been hunting on his families ranch a few days before Christmas when the snowstorm comes up and causes him to seek shelter in an old cabin. When he gets there he finds a woman and her son taking shelter there as well. This is a nice sweet story that takes place few days before Christmas. There are quite a few serious issues that are briefly addressed from Sandy’s multiple sclerosis and her husband leaving her to Doug’s father’s cancer. We also have some light elements as Sandy and Nate decorate the cabin and they all play games to stay entertained. When Nate goes to sleep at night Doug and Sandy talk and the attraction between them grows. There are a few kisses but that’s all we get since there is a child in the one bedroom cabin with them. While this was a very short novella I did enjoy the characters and the writing. I will be looking for more from this author. Can’t Wait by Jennifer Ryan Stars 4 Flames 3 Caleb is fresh out of the military and staying with is friend Jack at his ranch when he meets Jack’s sister, Summer. Even though they are attracted to each other, Caleb knows you never date a friends sister so he keeps his distance. Summer knows that Caleb has feelings for her so she temps him to take a chance on a relationship with her. I really loved this story. Caleb is a great somewhat tortured hero with is memories from war keeping him awake and giving him nightmares. He is sweet and honorable and just an all around great guy. He did have his alpha moments and get dominant but they just added to him. When he’s with Summer he’s sweet and protective, making her feel like the only woman in the world. I was happy that after they worked through their reasons not to be together that we got quite a bit of them as a couple. I liked seeing them interact and getting more of their happily ever after than I expected. A great Christmas romance! Baby It’s Cold Outside by Katie Lane Stars 3.5 Flames 2 Alana is tired of the men she has been meeting in her native Hawaii. Most of them are just passing through or are only wanting to have a good time. So she decides to go online to find a man that is more intellectual and doesn’t have trouble committing. When she is matched with Clint she thinks is a match made in heaven but is leery of flying to visit him for the holidays. On an impulse she hops so flight but gets stranded in a snow storm before reaching the house. When she is found by a cowboy on horseback she is faced with the possibility that maybe a nice stable man isn’t what she wants. I don’t want to give too much away as there are a few twists and turns but I really enjoyed this story. The characters are funny and relatable. There are some mistakes made on both sides of the relationship but that was what made them more likeable. The sexy cowboy and the somewhat reserved Alana strike sparks off each other but they get along great. We don’t get too much of the Christmas theme, just decorating a tree and knowing what time of year it is. The story focuses more on the characters and how they overcome their misconceptions and find love. A great ending to the anthology!

The Christmas Cabin by Emma Cane, 4.5 Stars This is more than about a cabin. It's about a courageous mother who made her son's Christmas memorable without spending a cent. Just her love and time and lots of snow and laughter. It is about a man who thinks he has nothing to celebrate the season for only to find the woman who made him want to brave that dreadful future. Just her love and time and lots of snow and laughter. It is about a man who thinks he has nothing to celebrate the season for only to find the woman who made him want to brave that dreadful future. From the get go, I was drawn into the story especially because the main character's situations are very realistic. Their cares are the same as mine or my friends. I guess that's why I connected with them. Still the heroine's inner strength and the hero's desire for a better legacy made me want to see them succeed and it does not hurt that they have a sizzling chemistry. In the end, when their HEA came, I believed on it and that they will last through the good and bad times. Great story, high intensity of the chemistry between hero and heroine, and very interesting casts of characters. For such a short story, it absorbed me well that when the story ended I was disappointed yet satisfied. Can't Wait by Jennifer Ryan Not my cup of tea. Baby It's Cold Outside by Katie Lane 4 Stars I love it! I was so into the story from the get go that as the heroine trudge the cold snow I was shivering with her. When she found the calf and called it bambi and sang Christmas carols to it, I was laughing. I felt the rush of her attraction to her cowboy rescuer and their antics together inside the cabin. Although I saw the 'twist' a mile away, it was hilarious to watch the hero squirm when he was found out and was applauding the heroine her retaliation technique. It was heart warming to see how he win back the heroine's affection in a very romantic way without using his magic pen or tons of cash. Overall, this is a sweet story. We watch the main characters fall in love yet they never wore the all-stary-eyed blinders. Yet they manage to draw me into their story, melt my heart, fell in love and believed in their HEA.

I must say all three stories were very entertaining to read and I liked them all equally. They were well written, plotted and had a fast pace so I didn’t have a chance to be bored. All were different in plot so that helped, but one thing they all had in common besides romance, was hot dudes in chaps. Now how can you pass up on that?! The Christmas Cabin by Emma Cane This story is all about making lemonade when life dumps you a lot of lemons. The Christmas Cabin by Emma Cane This story is all about making lemonade when life dumps you a lot of lemons. Everything in this story worked for me, from the plot to the wonderful characters such as Sandy and her little boy, to Doug who needed them s much as they needed him. This story will make you stop and appreciate the simple things in your own life that you may have taken for granted. Can’t Wait by Jennifer Ryan This was a fun and frustrating story. Many times I wanted to pull a Cher [from Moonstruck] and slap Caleb, telling him ‘SNAP OUT OF IT’! You see, Summer loves him to pieces, but for some reason this Dude is not allowing himself to love her because she’s his best friend’s sister. Once she breaks down his defenses, we’re in for a treat and a love story that is sweet, poignant and entertaining. Baby It’s Cold Outside by Katie Lane I like this author and I think she can write comedy very well. Honestly, I think some of her stories are better written than those Hallmark movies! If you want to find out what happens when Alana finds that ‘perfect’ man online, you need to read this story. She acts impulsively by wanting to surprise him for Christmas, and instead gets stuck with a hot cowboy and can’t keep her hands to herself. All three stories are different in plot and feel, but all of them have one thing in common-a cowboy who’ll make their dreams come true! Now, how can I not like that?! *Melanie for b2b. *Books provided by the authors and publishers through NetGalley.
