One of the most brilliant minds of NLP. The late Steve Andreas. If you're in the coaching and NLP business, this book has some much needed tools to help in creating identity level changes with your clients. Written in a training form with exercises examples, and lots of metaphors, you will not only have a smooth read, but will also end up feeling the impact of the change by doing the exercises yourself. I feel somewhat conflicted about this book. On one hand, it's full of very interesting ideas, and goes into great detail elaborating on a model of self-concept that I find very interesting. I'm not yet sure if the techniques are going to be effective for myself, as they are pretty reliant on visualization, and as someone with aphantasia, that's difficult for me. The reason I'm conflicted is that I really don't like the way the information is presented. The book is essentially an edited transcript I feel somewhat conflicted about this book. While the concepts came through okay in the end, I'd have much preferred they were organized to be read. There were many awkward moments, and it just felt a bit lazy. Also, there were many references to NLP concepts that could have been shipped or relegated to footnotes to make it an easier read for someone like me who is unfamiliar with NLP.

Take it with a grain of salt, but I found it extremely helpful for working through a few hangups that were negatively impacting me.
