A well written, entertaining story of a rent boy coerced into taking part in an unofficial sting operation and the cop who thought he had it all under control. Both men are lonely and a little desperate and the romance is tentative and prickly and totally believable. Slow burn, minimal sex and a HFN ending. Lol! Loved me some Due South back in the day. Her other book,Fiend By the Bayis also highly recommended.

This one was right up my alley. I already fell in love with Bean Montag's other free fic Fiend By the Bay, and had high expectations for this one. I very much like how Montag spins her stories in that raw, gritty, suspensuful and dark-around-the-edges kinda way. This is really rather one of my favourite reads - and I'm glad I found it. 4.5 stars This one was right up my alley. I'm not sure how to feel about this story. There's the attraction between Casey and Roy and while there were sparks, I'm not quite sure how they'll build a relationship after all's said and done; it just felt like a HFN ending that didn't satisfy me at all. Also, what exactly happened to the bad guy? (view spoiler)[All the hard work Casey (and Roy) put into exposing him didn't look like it panned out. There was no official investigation, and even after the things he'd done to Casey - and indirect I'm not sure how to feel about this story. Well, I'd have happily paid to read that book. It could have done with a little tightening in certain parts of the story, and slightly more clarification as to what happen to the peripheral characters to give us a sense of closure but apart from that I thoroughly enjoyed it. And strangely it had less editing issues than some 'professional' books that I've read.
