I got a free download of the book. Despite being a short, quick read, I couldn't finish it. Don't get me wrong, the book isn't *bad.* It's just not very novel. I read a lot of growth and productivity books, and this book seems more like a "you go get it!" motivational type of book, which isn't my style. Nothing was new to me (or to many of you, I'd imagine), but the style was about motivating you and energizing you. I can't speak to whether it accomplished that task, as I really don't like that I got a free download of the book. Despite being a short, quick read, I couldn't finish it. Nothing was new to me (or to many of you, I'd imagine), but the style was about motivating you and energizing you. I can't speak to whether it accomplished that task, as I really don't like that approach. As a random note, I didn't expect the book to use so much religious language. Perhaps the publicity language could include those ideas to draw in that demographic (which may be intimidated by the book's cover or feel it's too "racy" to be for good religious women). That's my totally off-the-wall 2 cents. All that said, the book needs a good copyeditor. The writing isn't bad, but it's far from correct. Most notably, punctuation is missing, especially commas. This was the huge factor in my not finishing the book. The prose runs so fast without commas in the places they should be. In other words, it's very hard to insert pauses where appropriate to make the sentences flow smoothly and to get the right understanding of the sentence. Other than the punctuation issues, the writing is good. However, it's not great. The writer follows all the rules of good writing (good topic sentences, flow from paragraph to paragraph), but the statements are sometimes unsubstantiated (In the line of "everyone knows X and understands it the way I want you to understand it") or less supported than I would like (especially citing things without citing the source so you could verify it yourself). As someone who has graded papers from K-college, it makes me think of B+ and A college papers (not including punctuation issues). So it's not bad. But it's not the easy-flowing, unique voice of a seasoned writer. For someone's early work (the writer looks quite young in his picture), this is a good start.

I had high hopes for this book but was very disappointed. While the framework for good goal setting is there, it is written in a very "Girls Rule, Boys Drool" kind of way. I'm pretty sure I left that behind in middle school. * This book was won in a Goodreads Giveaway. This is my fair and honest opinion. *

This was a promo giveaway from Goodreads. I was looking forward to receiving this book. The book was well researched. It gave me a new perspective on setting my goals higher. It is never to late to make changes for the long haul. Thanks for writing this book for us to read.

Couldn't finish this book. Was skimming it as it was. Written by a man, which normally would be all right with me but it was a "how to" book about women so it just didn't work. The book had too many personal tidbits in it which interfered with any message he was trying to convey.
