The woman can write! In Craving her Soldier's Touch she blew me away, with vivid descriptions of the lives of two people who both have their own personal emotional demons to overcome and in the process find that they are indeed perfect for each other. The character of Ian or "Ice" was superb, injured in Iraq and now home facing to deal with the severe damage to his leg and also the unknown challenges of suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder he goes from day to day suffering, trying to come to terms with the loss of his" family" and the responsibilities laying ahead. Enter Jaci, the one woman that set his soul and bed sheets on fire and kept him going all the months in Iraq, but also the one person he does not want to allow to feel sorry for him or to see him crumble. The character of Jaci was equally interesting as she herself has had a non easy life and staying busy by giving back to the community helps her to stay busy and forget the once awful childhood she had and the repercussions it caused. The author does a outstanding job at bringing these two together with such a force that I was left completely entranced. Seriously ladies the character of Ian alone had me trapped and I could not put the book down. Working with patients that suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder everyday gave me the advantage to understand just exactly how alone and worthless Ian was feeling, and seeing the author giving a brilliant account from the suffer's side made the book all the more interesting. Marcus did her research on each and every aspect of what life after Iraq holds for those who serve and protect, and the author at the same time gave me a glimpse into the live of abused woman and children and the pain they go through and challenges they face, and in the end the author conveyed the message of love and kindness will conquer all, and offered up a powerful , emotionality packed, mind blowing romance. The dialogue was at times fun and witty, and at other times sad and heart wrenching. The sex scenes were wild, passionate and filled with loads of emotion as to what Jaci and Ian were feeling. I cried for Ian and I truly felt for Jaci's twin sister Jena. I loathed the character of their completely awful brother but he is also the key to Jaci and Jena finally standing up for themselves and fighting for what they believe in. I cannot wait for the story of Jena! Truly brilliant writing, and the Wendy S.Marcus has once again proved why she is one of the most outstanding author's of our time. You do not want to miss out, the story of Ian and Jaci will leave you addicted to romance and the amazing writing of Wendy S.Marcus! 5/5 star review ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Book Two : Secrets of a Shy Socialite : Wendy S.Marcus does it again! In the follow up story to Wendy S.Marcus's fantastic new duo we get to learn the truth behind Jaci's twin sister Jena. This book had me in tears within minutes of starting to read it. Poor Jena, has not had a easy life and now she is the single parent to two adorable twin girls but the father is the one and only man who has ever been capable of setting her soul and body of fire, yet he does not and would never want her. Or so she believes until we get to know more about the character of Justin and truth behind the woman he thought was off limits. Justin was one of the most stunning characters I have read about in a long time. He is made up of the stuff every woman wants in her hero strong, independent, fights for what he wants and has that oh me oh my you make me sigh effect on every woman he encounters. The author did a truly amazing job at giving me as reader a insight into the truly horrific emotional and physical trauma Jena as to face while she comes to terms with the fact that she might not be around to see her daughters grow up. The author had me entranced and totally stunned at just how amazing the character of Jason was, standing by Jena no matter how hard she fights to push him away ,he came back each time fighting and more determined to win over the woman of his dreams, all the while she is dealing with her own demons of the trails and tribulations of breast cancer. The level of depth and emotion incorporated by the author right throughout the book brought me to more than just tears,it gave me a new found admiration for woman like Jena, and reminded me that facing it alone is never the answer. It also gave me a clear insight into the aftermath of surgery for breast cancer patients, the psychological trauma they need to overcome, the adjustment to a new body. Wendy S.Marcus did a absolutely stunning job at describing the point of views from both Justin and Jena, and the courage it takes to stand up and fight back. The dialogue was heartfelt and truly made to tear up the heart strings of even the strongest of readers. Again Marcus did her research and did a unique job at delivering the nitty gritty of breast cancer to me as reader, she is not afraid to expose the details that most authors tend to let drop to the background and instead they focus only on the relationship. The sex scenes were focused on so much more than just burning up the sheets, the author zeroed in on the emotions both characters were going through and this just added to the perfectness of the point of view of both Jena and Justin and the closeness they have shared over the years. The book will give you a new found look on life and fighting for the one you love no matter their appearance. Marcus proved without a doubt she is brilliant at reaching the hearts of her readers through emotionally packed books with focus on romance and the medical aspects during finding true love and friendship. A real roller coaster read, guaranteed to bring you to tears of sadness and joy! 5/5 star review

This is the case when I read Craving Her Soldier's Touch, I knew very soon I was onto a winner of a story, (Ian had me at hello) and I was delighted to google Wendy to discover she is an established author so I can pour thru her existing books. Craving Her Solder's Touch can be a stand alone story but after reading Jaci's story you will want to devour Jena's story in Secrets of a Shy Socialite. Although both stories are as different as night and day, one deals with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder because Ian is an ex soldier and domestic abuse and the other breast cancer, they are both fresh, original, full of humourous dialogue and real characters who deal with real life issues. Nurse Jaci is shocked to discover that when a pick up for the womans refuge she moonlights for goes wrong, the one person she asked in the past to marry her, Ian is her rescuer. He's back from the war... but why? Why do the twins need to marry before their birthday and how can Ian convince Jaci he's the guy for her? Craving Her Soldiers Touch is full of action packed drama and bursting at the seams with passion... If you're looking for a fantastic couple of stories to curl up with while you're on your holidays - please dont go past these two stories... totally a well deserved 6 stars! __________________________________________________________ I loved, loved, loved Secrets of A Shy Socialite by Wendy S. Marcus. I will be adding it to my re-read pile. The term "Emotional Rollercoaster" has never been truer than in Secrets of A Shy Socialite. I was shocked, I was laughing, I was crying and sometimes all at the same time! This can be a stand alone book but if you do like order read it after Craving Her Soldiers Touch by Wendy S. Marcus. They are both as different as day and night but in terms of ratings, I give them both 5 stars. Nurse Jena Piermont is one of the two Piermont twins. She's harboured a secret crush on Policeman Justin, her twin sister's best friend, since high school. They share a night together and 9 months later she gives birth to twin girls. If only things were that simple tho. The incredible twists and turns made this story incredibly delightful I absolutely adored the writing style, I thought it really flowed and except for the sad sad bits I felt like I was reading an original, light-hearted, bright and fresh story. I loved how Justin was portrayed as an ordinary guy, like someone we all know, I loved how realistic he seemed and part of the laughs came from his thoughts and his point of view on things. The major hurdle in this book as been referred to by Desere and Nas, breast cancer. The depth of knowledge on the subject was incredible. Breast Cancer wasnt just touched on, it was set out from A-Z in terms of what Jena goes thru. My heart breaks for anyone who has had to go thru what Jena went thru, as it does for anyone who has lost a loved one to this horrible disease. 5/5 stars for sure! P.S I really hope Dr Charmer gets his own story ;)

Wendy S Marcus is definitely an issues author in the Medical line. These two stories deal with some pretty tough situations and choices. And just to make it more complicated, both Piermont twins must be married by their 25th birthday, only months away, to inherit their fortune. The first of the Piermont twins is Jaci, the wild one, the feisty one. She had a thing for Ian, a career soldier. Just when they finally moved from friends to lovers, he did a runner. Which was fine according to Jaci who had plenty to keep her occupied. A day job as a community nurse and her special vocation, the running of a centre for abused women she founded in memory of her mother. When Ian comes back he isn't the same light hearted playmate and we learn of the tragedies and responsibilities he has to live with along with his own personal scars. Inside and out. Both Jaci and Ian need to come to terms with the past and present before they can make a future together. The really heart wrenching tale of the two is that of Jena, the twin who grew up in her sisters shadow, in love with a boy who only sees his friend Jaci and never can tell the difference. Not even the one night they spent together. Justin is a policeman and to put it politely is a bit of a sleazehound. Jena calls him shallow and his emotional depth is pretty lacking. Facing off with the twin girls that resulted from that one night stand is going to make or break him, he thinks. But it is the tragic truth of Jena's medical history that will be the challenge he needs to make a man of him. I loved both these stories but it was Jena's story that really captured my emotions. It is a beautiful and tender romance and the growth of both characters, but particularly Justin, is what made it so special.

I have been a fan of Wendy S. Marcus ever since I won a copy of The Night Before Christmas / Once a Good Girl... way back in 2011, so when the opportunity arose to add this 2-in-1 to my growing collection, I jumped at the chance. Unfortunately my own deadlines then got in the way, but I finally got to read the stories of the Piermont Twins on our family holiday a couple of weeks ago. Well, the wait was more than worthwhile. Unfortunately my own deadlines then got in the way, but I finally got to read the stories of the Piermont Twins on our family holiday a couple of weeks ago. Well, the wait was more than worthwhile. Both Craving Her Soldier's Touch and Secrets of a Shy Socialite were beautifully written, telling the stories of two twin sisters and tackling the difficult subjects of PTSD and voluntary mastectomy (think Angelina Jolie) yet all the while creating two endearing love stories around them. Although these titles are available to purchase individually, these two books complement each other perfectly, with the second picking up immediately where the first left off. I read each story in one sitting, not wanting to put the book down and stayed up until the early hours to read undisturbed. A fairly rare occurrence for me when it comes to category-length romances, but Wendy S. Marcus has turned out a book that scores full marks from me so if you enjoy romances with a dash of 'medical', a splash of sizzle, a healthy dollop of feisty heroines, heroes to swoon over, and a whole heap of heart, then look no further...

I love all of the books by Wendy S.Marcus, but Craving Her Soldier's Touch/Secrets of a Shy Socialite is my favourite so far. Both sensual stories have the usual lip lifting humour, but also an emotional depth that breaks your heart and causes serious eye leakage. When injured Ian returns he finds himself in the role as protector to feisty community nurse Jaci. But how can he protect Jaci when she only has to mention marriage to make him run? Jaci tries to heal his scars both inside and out, but can Ian help her with the scars she has hidden so deep? In Secret's of a Shy Socialite we meet Jena, Jaci's identical twin. So identical that Justin can't tell their looks apart. All he knows is that Jaci is the one with the great personality and Jena he really doesn't like. So it comes as a great surprise when he discovers he is the father of Jena's twins and he didn't have a night of passion with Jaci after all. Jena never liked being the 'good' twin, so the only way Jena can be more like her sister is to pretend to be her. Now she is a mother Jena has to do whatever she can for her own little girls, but with the life altering decision she has to make she has no choice but to make plans of her own. As Justin gets to know his daughters he is surprised to discover the strength hidden inside Jena. In this story Wendy S. Marcus bravely tackles the subject of cancer with sensitivity. Grab a tissue and read!

These stories were definitely different from my usual choice but I loved them just the same. I want to thank Mrs. Marcus for the giveaway. The stories really got me thinking about my values as a woman and brought out the feminist in me. Good job.
