Great with my twos! They can identify the animals, make the sound, and then be introduced to the word in Spanish.
Sarah –
A cute book with both English and Spanish. Useful for bilingual storytime.

I won this book in a give away and was so excited for it to come in the mail. My kindergartner has been begging to learn more Spanish, I don't speak Spanish and thus was at a loss on how to incorporate this into our lives. This book is fantastic for us. I was excepting for it to be a pretty picture list of animals with both the English and Spanish words, which it does have. But it also has complete sentences on each page in both languages, which I think helps with comprehension at such a different level. The one drawback to the book is that I struggle to pronounce some of the words. I know a very little bit of Spanish so some words I know or could get close on, but others I know I was pronouncing wrong, which doesn't help her with learning. Some phonetic spellings included here and there would have been helpful. Finally, I read this as a native English speaker. But I think that this book would work well for Spanish speakers as well. Great universal design.

I received this book through the Goodreads First Reads program. I am utterly charmed! What a brilliant idea. Not only is it bilingual, but it introduces kids to art! Using simple concepts:animals, this book uses a bilingual approach to information and art. I have debated, since reading, whether to donate this book to my library, to loan it to all of my friends with kids, or to save it for the day when I have kids of my own. It is a brilliant concept, a bilingual approach to art. Not only does it approach every day concepts through a bilingual perspective, but it introduces art as well. Looking through the sources at the back, it takes on a multinational perspective, with art from multiple eras and multiple locations. This book belongs in every household, especially those with large Latino populations, that our English-speaking and Spanish-speaking children can learn both languages, while simultaneously gaining an introductory love for art.

In compliance with FTC guidelines, I am disclosing that I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. (i.e. DESTINY wants me to read this book.) No puedo decir que la lengua fue perfecta pero yo entendia la historia~~~ The most important thing is that children will like this book. It exposes them to art and to Spanish and it's easy for younger children with less manual dexterity to use. Good job!!! Turbo Review: Unusual illustrations for this concept (board) book. Illustrations include art from the collections at the San Antonio Museum of Art Each page asks intriguing questions to engage readers more fully in the illustrations. Best as a lap book so kids can see all the details. If using as a read aloud, document camera and data projector are a must. Audience: 2/3 yrs-1st gr Use: Art appreciation - types of media; animals (adaptations, characteristics); pleasure!

I received this book for free through Goodreads first reads. This book was truly great. It is a board book and can easily be "read" by the little ones. The pictures are bright and interesting and almost every page asks a question that can be answered by looking at the pictures. Not only does this book keep the children entertained but it teaches them English and Spanish. It also introduces them to art of other countries. This book is a keeper. Cute little bilingual book about animals. In this day and age, an early foundation in Spanish is never a bad thing. I also enjoyed that the book was a collaboration between the San Antonio Museum of Art and the city's public library system, which ensures a gorgeous aesthetic in addition to a quality book. This book is truly adoreable. The artwork used is amazing. I can now proudly say that I know how to say "Hoot" in Spanish. The pages of this book are set up just beautifully and serve the artwork justice. This book is truly adoreable. The artwork used is amazing. (this book was won through a goodreads giveaway) This is a really cute little board book. My 6 year old daughter attends a spanish immersion school and enjoys reading it to my 2 year old. The pictures are very bright and the phrases are easy to follow for young readers. Would recommend!
