This one was kind of both a hit *and* a miss for me. The apocalypse and love triangle portions of the book worked well; however, the actual romance between Bryce and Richard fell dead flat. Sorry, only a partial pun intended there. ;- ) As usual for my zombie reads, I really liked the story of keeping one step ahead of the horde to avoid being eaten. In this story, the 'zombie' plague was brought about by an untested flu immunization, which I found very plausible, as drug companies continually rac This one was kind of both a hit *and* a miss for me. In this story, the 'zombie' plague was brought about by an untested flu immunization, which I found very plausible, as drug companies continually race toward record profits vs. focusing on actually helping people in a responsible, ethical manner. There are both walkers, which we're familiar with, and runners, which are the ones that would scare the shit out of me. And they're smart, too, so double-yikes. The three MC's were fairly well-developed, but to be honest, the biggest 'feels' that I got from this story were for Daisy, a playful and loving dog that they find along the way. PS, that was some seriously fucked up shit with the dog, thank you very much, so animal lovers be warned right up front. One part of the book that I would have loved to see expanded a bit more was how some of the zombies seemed to be regaining at least part of their humanity. Like one scene where 'spray paint can' zombie was trying to help our heroes, only to be (view spoiler)[ attacked and eaten (hide spoiler)] by the rest of the horde. I found that pretty fascinating. And the scene with Richard and "Bait Girl"? Jesus, that was a huge jaw-dropper for me. Overall, this was an entertaining read, but lacked in the building of the romance, so when the requisite "I love you's" are exchanged on the last few pages, my reaction to their HFN/HEA (?) felt more 'okaaaaay' than 'yay'. So after the hits and misses were all tallied up, this was a fairly-warm 3 *more-stew-anyone?* stars for me. ------------------------------------------------ My ARC re-release copy of this book was provided by the publisher in exchange for a fair, unbiased review.

Zombie apocalypse! I really wanted to love this book because zombies + brave guys + romance = !! But after reading it I felt a little bit disappointed. The story as a whole was interesting and had some twists and turns, but I just couldn’t feel the connection between the characters. Zombie apocalypse! Well I really liked the Zombie aspect of this book because I am a huge fan of that genre but a lot of this story seemed really weird to me... So this story starts out with Bryce who is save by Richard who is in a relationship with Cole when Richard finds Bryce. So Richard wants Bryce besides the fact he is kind of with Cole and his whole character came off so odd to me and a little scary, run in the other direction before you even think about hooking up with him if you know what I mean. Then there was Cole who has a lot of problems which he needs medication for and because he does not have it that makes him super mean too. Now the only character I sort of end up liking in this book was Bryce the rest I can say I was not really a huge fan of. So I did like where this author was going with this book but sadly I was just not a fan of the characters and they brought the book down for me. So I am sad to say this Novella was just not for me... I received this book free in exchange for an honest review from Inked Rainbow Reads.

WOW. . . This totally exceeded my expectations! Not because I don't have faith in the author's ability to deliver a story because I know that he can, but I've somehow missed the zombie apocalypse craze. I was pretty surprised at how frightening plausible the scenario actually was! I love that DC Juris delivers characters who could actually exist and not airbrushed caricatures. Bad Moon Rising gives us survival without electronics (the horror), mental illness with the ramifications of going unmedicated and of course smoking hot man-love!

Review: “Richard bucked against me with a moan, tangled the fingers of his free hands into my hair, and pulled me to him for a bruising kiss.” 3 horror filled stars! Different, but still good I’m the first to admit that I love The Walking Dead, but I don’t want to read about it in my romance book. So I was slightly hesitant when it came to this book. I won’t lie I almost didn’t read it. But Once I did, I was so happy that I did. Bryce and Richard are HOT, super sexy and well I had to fan myself quite a few times! But with their sexy relationship comes turmoil, in the form of Richard’s sometimes lover Cole, who by the way is also bipolar and losing his mind. While the book is sexy, it will keep you on your toes, you know with the whole zombie thing! ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Melissa from Alpha Book Club

A realistic story of three men who band together after an apocalyptic zombie infection, this wasn’t gory or overly bloodthirsty. Nevertheless it gives the reader a deep insight to how seemingly normal things would change and the effect that would have on people. Strangers grouping for comfort and strength, just how far they would be pushed for survival – not only against the zombies but also for smaller things, like food, safety, travel and sleep. More than the zombie-plot, this is a book that explores the emotions of a threesome, and of how such a stressful event can effect people. I found myself drawn into the triangle between Richard, Bryce and Cole and the complexities of their relationship and the situation they found themselves in. Readers with a queasy stomach might want to be careful reading this – there are deaths and, while not graphic they’re not glossed over either. And while there is sex in it – this is definitely a plot and character heavy novella. The erotica is just a bit of extra spice – not the main meal. Quite a different story from most books I’ve read – I really enjoyed this.

This story was just F#$$%^ amazing, I have so many things to say about it, in my mind for sure looks great, but here I don't really know where to started. Apocalypse, for sure one scary word, especially if Zombies are involved. This story is about survival and doing anything possible to keep yourself alive, sometimes you lose your human side and you need to sacrifice anything if you must. Some parts where sad, and perhaps you won't agree with some issues or the outcome.
