I actually got this book last week, and used it during four intensive days of editing my own eBook for a September debut on Kindle. I thought it would be a good way to see if a total techno-dummy like me could follow instructions. Well, actually, it’s never been so much about following instructions; it’s been about NOT GETTING some underlying concepts about the basics of eBook publishing. OK, honestly—I never wanted to understand the concepts. My excuse is that I was always bad in math. Guess wh I actually got this book last week, and used it during four intensive days of editing my own eBook for a September debut on Kindle. Guess what? There is no math! There’s a few measurements, but Demers does all the figuring for you. My particular outstanding FAIL is formatting. G-d save me from having to do it! Uh, no. But Michelle A. Demers might have saved me! If she had named it How To Kindle for Dopes, I would have bought it sooner! This really is a very easy read, and, best of all? There really are only 10 steps to get you published on the most popular Indie publishing platform in the world, Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. There’s absolutely no reason to drive your creative Muse crazy by enlisting said Muse to get so far into the technical stuff, he or she forgets to help you create. Demers does it all for you. If you can turn a page, you can publish on Kindle. If you can read, you can publish on Kindle. If you can write and tell a good story, you can publish on Kindle AND make money! Demers lays it all out in nice, neat, chronological fashion, The best thing about this book, beside its incredibly easy to follow organization and explanations, is that you can actually SKIP a couple of the steps if you want to farm your self-published book out to, say, a professional formatter. If your best graphic art is a stick man and you (wisely) decide to farm your cover artwork out, SKIP that section. But all information is here, in 10 steps, if you want to do it yourself or if you just want to have a basic understanding of what’s going on with your book. To Kindle in Ten Steps: The Easy Way to Format, Create and and Self-Publish an eBook on Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing, is like the Quick Start Guide for Demers' much longer, more involved, more all-encompassing earlier book, The Global Indie Author: How Anyone Can Self-Publish in the U.S. and Worldwide Markets. This book is like Stunk & White for eBook authors. Strunk & White is the classic handbook for usage and style; Michelle Demers helps you get your brilliant, grammatically perfect sentences into an eBook and into the marketplace with her modern-day eBook guide.

I think she's wonderful with easy to understand directions. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to be self published. I think she's wonderful with easy to understand directions. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to be self published.
