My favorite part of this book, is how Sarah Ross has intertwined love and self-sacrifice and friendship. The Friendship of Morgan and Tessa is amazing. Morgan, stays with her best friend, while she was in a coma for a year. After Tessa came out of the coma, Morgan than moves in with her. You learn of Tessa's Tragic day, that lead up to her being in a coma. You will learn about David and how his endearing love for tessa is so great, that he will be willing to give up everything to keep her safe. How and why he was with her from the moment she got hurt (trying not to give to much away)! This book is such a beautiful, sweet and a little sad story. There is no way you can not like it! I love how Sarah Ross, has made these Characters, be normal teenagers with behavior, speech and actions. Morgan being funny and witty. While Tessa being reserve and timid, but shows strength and intelligence. Which in turned made this story more enticing and believable! Sure their were a few unbelievable things (like the Ezekiel and her access to the train accident). However, that is what puts the twist and turns of this story together. I really enjoyed this book and I am looking very forward to reading more! What I didnt like about this book. The way it ENDED!!!! Shame on you Sarah Ross, for putting me through that turmoil! I had to eat a whole bag of butterfinger bites to take the edgy off! What a cliffhanger.

I received this ARC ebook from the author Sarah M. Ross herself for my honest review and I have to say that I really liked it. I like how different the story was to a lot of Angel books out there and often times found myself laughing out loud. I enjoyed Sarah's quick wit and writing style. What didn't convince me at first was how quick the two main characters fell in love, but halfway through the book, their love grew on me and I began to understood the self-sacrifice and choices they made. But what most surprised me was how riveted I was for the last 25% of the book. I mean I could not stop reading it till I found out what happened and I was totally taken aback by the turn of events and the ending...WoW! It keeps you wanting for book 2! What a cliffhanger! Total shocker! Ok, maybe I should let you all know a little about the story. Echo of an Earth Angel is about Tessa. For the past year she had been in a coma. One tragic night, Tessa was shot in the head trying to save a young girl from the line of fire that in turn killed her parents. That bullet should of killed her, but little did she know that for the last year while she lay in the hospital bed trying to heal, a mysterious guy named David saved her. But he more than saved her. In fact, he healed her to the point of turning her into an Immortal. You see, David is an Angel. A fallen angel who has gone rogue from Heaven and had taken it upon himself to heal and help those who suffer. Well, you would think that this wouldn't make him fallen, but you see there is a balance to things and he couldn't stand back while some people lived while so many had to suffer and die. He went against the rules and broke ranks to walk the Earth and assist those who needed his help. So, because of his love and need for life, David chose to heal Tessa, and in turn he fell in love with her. However, every action, has a reaction, even if all intentions are good and filled with love. And because of certain choices he made, there was a bounty put out on his head. David would do his work while constantly staring behind his back, waiting for the moment when Heaven would haul him back and punish him for his crimes. Enter Nico. This is an Angel who walks a fine line between good and evil. He is the bounty hunter scouting David and eagerly wanting to stake his claim on him and get his reward. But there is more to Nico then what we presume him to be. When Nico finally tracks David down, he notices Morgan. Morgan is Tessa's best friend. And the only one, besides David, who has been there by Tessa's bedside waiting for her to wake up. Nico does the unthinkable and kidnaps Morgan, believing her to be he's dead wife reincarnated. Morgan has no clue about who David is or what Tessa has become, and just thinking that Nico is some sort of psychopath, is forced into the situation. Well, you can only imagine the drama that unfolds from them on. Tessa and David go on a chase to track Morgan down and thinks go from bad to worse. Worse being Tessa and David having to heal Morgan from the brink of death caused by Nico's inhuman actions. In turn, David sacrifices himself so Morgan can live and Tessa is devastated. Her whole purpose after this is to try and get David back. And she would stop at nothing and no one till she frees him of his sacrifice. Oh man, so much goes down and I really don't want to reveal too much, as it is too hard to explain without telling the whole story. But, I think you will all get a better understanding of this when you pick the book up yourself and give it a go. It may start off a little slow but by the end you are gripping for more. It's why I gave it 4 stars.

There are only so many angles you can take with this theme, unless you really think outside the box. Echo of an Earth Angel wasn't something that stands out as entirely new and different, but it was an intriguing story with lovable characters, and I enjoyed Sarah Ross' take on the angel theme! Tessa was really struggling to get back to her life after the harrowing event that left her orphaned and fighting the amnesia that plagued her. She was forced to grow up and deal with what life had handed her, and with the help of her best friend Morgan she was finally making baby steps in the right direction. When her "talent" starts to reveal itself, she was rightfully freaked out and looking for answers that hopefully wouldn't mean she was losing what was left of her mind!! Enter David, the sexy mysterious stranger who seemed to understand what she was going through. I loved David, especially since we get to see his POV and all of his sweet and lusty thoughts of his dear Tessa. He'd been there for her throughout her recovery after he'd made that fateful mistake; he saved her, which was bad enough, but then he went to far and he's scrambling to make up for it. Already on the naughty angel list for choosing to leave Heaven instead of following the "heal only those who are meant to be" rule, he was pretty much putting the nail in his own coffin when it comes to his fate. And he carries so much guilt for the mess he's made of Tessa's life, but to be honest I couldn't be angry with the guy. I mean, he saved her life and he's dedicated himself to keeping her safe, which makes him a keeper in my book! I do wish I felt more of a connection between Tessa and David than I did, because I felt like this was supposed to be an epic love but it fell a little short. The pace at which the emotions came about was too quick to feel realistic for me, but I am hopeful that, with this being a series, the added moments they share together will remedy that. As far as antagonists go, Nico the narcissistic angel hunter was definitely memorable. He certainly thinks quite highly of himself as we see him patting himself on the back for his efforts to find and capture David, and it was very entertaining! My mental image of him ogling himself in the mirror in one scene had a soundtrack of "I'm too sexy" going in the background!! But as amused as I was by his antics, he's definitely bad to the bone and has no qualms destroying David, Tessa, and anyone else who gets in the way of what he wants. Including Morgan, who may or may not share a special connection with Nico from the past... As the story wraps up, Ross amps up the suspense with a big twist that leaves everyone's fate in question and finds David unable to do anything about it. It's a great lead-in for the sequel, which looks to be taking an interesting turn and bring lots of chaos to the mix! I look forward to seeing what comes next for these characters! After 9 long months in the hospital and a miraculous she finally gets to go home. Only her recovery is more miraculous than she would have ever imagined. Soon she meets David, a rogue angel, who reveals to her the truth behind her recovery and her new found abilities which make her a target for Hunters. I love the theme behind this story. A young woman has a near death experience and is saved by an angel only to become an angel herself. Tessa is spunky and bright, and confused about why she can suddenly heal people with the touch of her hands. You watch her come into her powers and fall in love, when she thought love was dead. David is a sweet, well meaning angel who took things too far. He falls hard for Tessa and believes she has the brightest soul he has ever seen. He doesn't mean to change her into an angel, but he accidentally take his healing too far and transfers the powers he has to her. I like the attraction between the two main characters. It is insta-love, but it's hard to deny that such love does exist. It's hard to deny that love can transcend knowing someone for a long time. The supporting cast of characters is only ok, in my opinion. Those you thought were good, turn out bad. Those who are bad are really bad, and sort of crazy at the same time. Those who are good are really good, and you see the depth of their caring. Things that I had issues with in this book were the use of British colloquialisms for characters who live and were born in America and the fact that there is very limited narrative. The paragraphs are quite long, even when there is dialogue between characters. And I found that there was a lot of repetition. I understood the need for the characters to reflect upon what was happening, but the relationships started to become unbelievable because you rarely saw the characters interacting with each other. Instead, the interactions were described in long narratives that could have been broken up with more action. All in all the story was interesting and I can see where the characters have room for growth. The end was very abrupt, but you can see how a sequel will definitely help the reader to work out the holes that were left by the sudden ending. I give this book 3/5 stars. Sarah Ross did it again, and this time was even better than the last. I have officially fallen in love with another series, and of course, it would be one about angels, which has been my obsession for as long as I can remember. Tessa is the type of spunky, stubborn character that makes females everywhere smile, and groan at the same time. The unrealistically docile female protagonist she is not, and that makes for a very exciting read. Though the females of this novel, namely Tessa and her best friend, Morgan, make me proud to own this novel, and proud of the author for creating believable and likeable female characters, I have to admit it is the men of this novel that most excite me. David is the whole-hearted boy we girls all say we want, who has admittedly made some mistakes in his past, but is so pure of heart, but still strong, and h-o-t, that falling for him would be hard not to do. David's best friend Andre while a big supporting character doesn't play second string to David, and I find myself liking him just as much as David. Hello to two new book crushes! If something happens in the next two books of the series that changes my thoughts about either of them, I'll be crushed. Even the bad characters were exciting to read about. Nico obviously has some major problems, and hello Ezekiel, you are no good in this novel. There are a few other things I wish I could reveal without the spoilers, but alas I can not. I can say that I am currently defrosting bacon in the attempt to make a perfectly mouth watering BLT, and this is because of Sarah's novel, which you will understand if you end up reading Chapter 23 right before falling to sleep. Let's just say I woke up with bacon, lettuce, and tomato on toasted bread with mayo on my mind for breakfast. Also, though he isn't a vital character in this novel, I love that Ross gave mention to the angel Gabriel, as I am obsessed with him most particularly, whether or not he is depicted as good or bad. If you liked Sarah's previously released novel Awaken (Book One in the Patronus series), you'll definitely love Echo of an Earth Angel. If you haven't read either, you definitely should. Her books, which are in the New Adult category but totally YA appropriate, are amazing reads. Oh great! I just realized something. I now have two Sarah M. Ross novels in two separate series to patiently anxiously await. How will I survive? Review for Mera's YA Book List

I will also be checking out other books by this author, I definitely like her writing style...Not as hot as the other more "adult friendly" books I've been devouring lately, but not cheesy like so many other youth friendly reads. Not going to lie, this would become a 5 star instead of 4 if there was some sexy scenes thrown in, but the story definitely holds it's own without them, which I don't know if I can say the same for some of the "sexier" books out there. I was pulled into this story after just the 1st few pages. I found this book to have a similar feel as the "Heavenly" series, which I really enjoyed. Lately when reading I've been finding myself skipping paragraphs if not pages since the author would repeat information, almost as if just to add pages to the book..I was happy to find this book didn't do the whole repeating to fill pages thing, and was a smooth quick read that held my interest. I will definitely be reading the next book to find out what happens to David & Tessa! Hoping they find each other sooner than later in the story, and make little angel babies together :) When does book 2 come out??

This was an awesome book!! The characters were well written and the story line was wonderful. I love how Tessa is strong willed and how she will do anything to heal people and save her David from his fate. Her friend Morgan is just as strong and spunky. I liked her. i wanted and expected to enjoy this as it was recommended to me. I was sorely disappointed :-( The writing is not well polished, there are editing errors and some very clumsy sentences. The story and characters are charactures dully drawn from over used tropes.

A life that has holes in it, making it hard to remember certain aspects and details. Then she discovers that her hands glow whenever she gets near a person with injuries or illness. David is a fallen angel that was too compassionate when it came to deciding who he healed and who he let die. These choices were too hard for him so he fled Heaven, removed his wings, and went rogue, healing and curing anyone that he pleased without any regard to God or the course the person he healed was destined to follow. Then he saw Tessa. He saw her throw her life on the line in order to save another human being and he knew that she was special. He stuck by her side, gradually healing her, during her hospital stay. Only he healed her too much and Tessa's life will never be the same. The path she had planned out for herself will be forever altered and now David has to find a way to tell her. And protect Tessa from those who wish to harm her which means committing the ultimate sacrifice to do so. This is an exceptional book! My love for angels as the main focus of a book has really developed over the course of the past year. I'll be honest, angels aren't my favorite theme of pretty much anything. I don't like statues, figurines, ornaments, or any type of decorations featuring them. But put these awesome creatures in a book and I'm in absolute awe. Ms. Ross is a wonderful story teller. The characters in "Echo of an Earth Angel" have been written with such finesse that they seem to be completely alive and acting out their parts in the book right in front of me. The plot twist and shift near the end of the book was captivating and gave the book a whole new perspective. The cliffhanger ending definitely has me chomping at the bit for Book #2 of the Earth Angel Trilogy.

First I want to thank Sarah Ross for sending me an eARC of Echo of an Earth Angel. I fell in love with her other book, Awaken, back in January. With sections of her memory is gone she must learn to move on. But when something strange happens one night at dinner Tessa is forced to believe that angels really do exist…and this is only the beginning for her. David is a fallen angel that is out to do what he was made for: heal! He can no longer sit idly by watching some people heal while others suffer. So one night long ago he defied Heaven above and went rogue. But now that he has met Tessa and changed her…he wonders if he went too far. Will she run from him when she learns the truth or accept her fate? I enjoyed the relationship that started budding between Tessa and David, but wished they would have had more time together. It would have helped make the feelings Tessa was feeling a little more believable. To me that part felt a little rushed. But man do I adore David and I am hoping for a happy outcome for him and Tessa in the next book. But with that cliff hanger of an ending I better be crossing my fingers and toes! Cause it doesn’t look good. Echo of an Earth Angel was a wonderful read with lots of twists that kept me guessing up until the very end. I knew something didn’t sit well with me with a certain character and I was proved right. Now my interest is peaked for the second book. If you are a fan of angels and suspense this one is for you. So be sure to pick up Echo of an Earth Angel as soon as it’s out.

Her writing manages to have you feeling such sympathy for the characters or laughing out loud at some of the things that they say. I think that I would have liked some more time with David and Tessa. I really enjoyed the development of their relationship and I'm always a sucker for romance in books, so I'm hoping that we see more of that in book 2. Echo of an Earth Angel was a really enjoyable read and I'm really looking forward to reading more of The Earth Angel trilogy!!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I’m not a big angel book lover fan, but this one was done very well. It had some interesting history and layout of heaven that I found different from other Angel books. The existence of angels on earth living amongst us has always been questioned. Ms. Ross gives us an amazing take and theory on how the Angels do their jobs on earth and why. What I liked: -Great world building- I really got lost in the mythos and background of the dynamics of Heaven and Earth. -The Characters- David- a rogue Angel I’m not a big angel book lover fan, but this one was done very well. What I liked: -Great world building- I really got lost in the mythos and background of the dynamics of Heaven and Earth. -The Characters- David- a rogue Angel who roams the earth healing humans, and Tessa- a human girl who lived after a horrific event takes her family’s lives. Both characters are really nice and seem to just want to help people in the world. Always helps if they fall for each other in a really good way, right? -The plot- David loves to use his powers of healing on unsuspecting humans, and in healing Tessa, he goes too far. Now, both are being hunted by the bounty hunters of heaven and some unsavory ‘angels’ up there, don’t have their best interest in mind. -The secondary characters: Nico- he was insane to the brain but stole every scene he was in with ease. Tessa’s BFF Morgan was hysterical and down to earth. They really added flavor to the story and I hope there will be more of both in book 2. What I didn’t like: -The ending, it was left wide open for the next book, which I just pray will get here soon. (please, please, please) -The way Tessa gets to heaven. Didn’t sound too pleasant and it made me cringe. -Nico’s complete and utter apathy- Like when he discards his supposed true love so easily, without a thought. Does the man have no heart? *Shudders* Pretty cool right? I can’t wait for book 2, need to know what happens next in this battle of higher beings.

I started reading this book last week. It took me a while to get through just because I had it in my head that this was actually the second book in the Patronus series. Whatever you do, don't think that. Yes both books are about angels of some form, but they are completely unrelated. Once I realized that this was a different series, the story flew. Obviously, from that statement, the story revolves around angels and not all of them are the good kind. As far as I can tell, there are no other type I started reading this book last week. Obviously, from that statement, the story revolves around angels and not all of them are the good kind. As far as I can tell, there are no other types of supernaturals in this series, but this is just book one so don't hold me to that. The beginning of the story is rather tragic. Tessa is recovering from a year long coma after being shot in the head. She was destined to die that day, but David intervened fate. Unfortunately, Tessa's parents also died during this tragic event and now she is alone except for her best friend Morgan. Strange things keep happening to her causing her to question her sanity (aside from her actually having lots chunks of her memory). At this time, David makes his appearance and attempts to explain to Tessa that she is actually an earthbound angel. Unfortunately, his attempts at really explaining things go awry. You will be surprised with the turn of events. Morgan's life in more than in danger. Tessa questions whether she loves David or if he loves her. David, a rogue angel, is taken to God to atone for his sins since even angels have free will. Tessa makes a series of decisions that will change her life and afterlife forever. It's pretty amazing and Sarah M. Ross really has a knack for writing about angels. Read more reviews at Identity Discovery Blog.

I really, really wanted to like this book, but I just can't. It is not for a lack of effort. I think the thing that really grinds my gears is the dialogue of the teens in this book. I am twenty years old, so it wasn't that long ago, that I was a teen, but no one I know or have ever met talks that the teens in the book. Quotes like, "...kicked him in the dingleberries so hard she knew he'd never have children -- or sing bass -- ever again." and "Listen, mister, I'm sorry, but I don't remember you I really, really wanted to like this book, but I just can't. However, Echo of an Earth Angel wasn't all bad, if you could over look that issue, the plot was rather unique and it's honestly the best thing about the novel. I read this novel, at the same time I as I was reading Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick and I loved the fact how both were completely different from each other despite being about fallen angels. Echo of an Earth Angel is about Tessa dealing with the fact that she becomes an angel, after David, an angel saves her life, when she was supposed to have died. Although, the dialogue in the book made it hard for me to believe that Tessa was a teen, I really liked Tessa as a character. There were so many times and so many reasons when Tessa could've given up on life, but she didn't. I love this strong, feminine character. Tessa is also a role model. Echo of an Earth Angel is a decent read. I honestly loved Awaken by Sarah Ross more, and I am exciting to see what she writes next.

Echo of an Earth Angel by Sarah M. Ross Review by Michelle McQueen Book on the Bright Side reviewer Rating 4**** This book was provided free from the author in exchange for honest literary review. After the accident, Tessa's life was turned upside down. Due to the coma she missed almost 18 months of her life. Her brain had several lapses....only pieces of her last 18 years could be easily recalled by her. Most importantly the accident left her a freak in her own mind. Then one day David shows up in her porch swing. He tells her that he is a fallen angel and she is not a freak, but now an immortal. David and Tessa get themselves in so much trouble together. This book is one adventure after another but it works, because it all relates back to the central theme of the story. I do like how David cared enough to reach out and go get Tessa. All of us girls love a man who will fight for us. I had a real annoyance with the Nico character....I really despised him with all his sneaky ways, but hey that is the mark of a great author giving us characters we love as well as ones we love to hate. I understand the way Tessa sorta fell so hard so fast for David feeling so out of control of her life for so long due to the accident, but I do wish in their relationship I could see a little more spunk like she had in the beginning. It is a good solid read and the first book in this lovely authors new series. definitely worth the time to read......oh, by the way be prepared for a huge, like massive cliffhanger.......happy reading!!!!!

Four Stars for Echo of an Earth Angel By Sarah M. Ross Tessa has only been out of her coma for a few months. She has lost her parents from a tragic accident. When Tessa and David go to save Morgan from Nico, David has no choice but to give himself in to save the others. Tessa is left alone to figure out her powers, until Andre shows up. Andre is one og David's closest friends. And now it's up to him and Tessa to get David back. Once I started reading Echo of an Earth Angel, I couldn't put it down. I ended up finishing the story in one day, I really loved reading it, I laughed, I cried, and I got angry. I can't wait to be able to read the sequal!!!

2.5 stars -- I'm beginning to wonder if I'm just not in the right frame of mind for reading certain books. It seems like I haven't been enjoying some highly recommended books lately, and that's unusual for me...I'm pretty easy to please. Makes me fear re-reading books I loved in case I find all sorts of flaws...*sigh* I just couldn't get into this one. I don't know if I just have too much going on right now, but I felt like I had to more make myself finish this one instead of being glued to it. I don't know if I just have too much going on right now, but I felt like I had to more make myself finish this one instead of being glued to it. But why? I liked the characters, but I guess I wasn't wowed by them...it almost felt like certain things went too fast in the plot for me to truly get wrapped up in them, or that I couldn't get a good feel on the characters. Then a lot of the plot was spent analyzing...which usually doesn't bother me, but it felt a bit repetitive. And the bad guys were really bad, but I was left with too many questions at the end...I find I need a few of the mysteries solved so I can see where the author is going to go, and a few remaining to ensure I follow through with the next books in the series...and I was just left confused and unfulfilled in the end. And maybe I'm not in the right mood for a book where everything to do with God and Heaven and Angels seems to be so....wrong....and bad...and evil. I'm sure there are explanations coming in the next books, but I was just so turned off that I won't go for the next one. :( I'm sad now. I hate not seeing what other people see.

This book was quite different from the normal YA PNR books I've read. Many of the angel based stories out there focus on the battle between heaven and hell, angels and demons, good versus evil, the fight to keep the apocalypse at bay, and although this story still had some of these elements, it was more about the betrayal and deception going on within the ranks of heaven itself. With the different type of angel factions, from Hunters to Incarnators, it was interesting and I wanted to know more. This book was quite different from the normal YA PNR books I've read. With the different type of angel factions, from Hunters to Incarnators, it was interesting and I wanted to know more. Another thing that stood out was that the female MC, although still very much human, was in fact not and this was due to her savior being a little overzealous in the healing department. And I liked that she in the end was the one who had to do the saving, rather than the other way round, even if things didn't pan out exactly as planned. Tessa, although not the strongest character I've met, showed great signs of becoming a powerful female MC. She was brave and didn't give up easily. I only wish I had connected with her more. I didn't really believe the love that blossomed between her and David. It all seemed to happen too fast and it fell flat. Perhaps if I had felt it more, if it had latched onto my emotions, I would have enjoyed this story more. This book had its interesting plot twists but it lacked the depth that usually wows me. It ended on a bit of a cliffhanger and I'd love to see where Ross takes the story, because it has so much potential.

This is the first book by Sarah that I have read and I can say that I really enjoyed it. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Having this be a book about angels, I wasn't positive I would love it. It seems that just like books about the fae, angel books and I have a love hate relationship. I either really like them or I really don't. There is hardly ever an in between for me. This book surprised me with how well edited and written it was. Sometimes you don't always get that with an indie read. The ending definitely left me wishing I had the next book in the series so I could see what would happen next. I loved that it wasn't completely predictable and left me curious about the characters and wanting to know more about them. I was very lucky to receive an ARC of this first book in the Echo of an Earth Angel trilogy. To be honest, it took me a while to wrap my head around this book. Not because it was difficult to understand or because anything like that, but because it really had such a different take on angels. I was a bit concerned when I read the synopsis that this book would have a very sad/emotional veil and I have a difficult time reading things that emotional. I know that sounds weird, but I am one of those people who do not like to cry for days over something that happened in a book. Real life has enough yucky stuff in it. This trilogy has the potential to be amazing I can not wait to see where Sarah takes it from here. Book one was such an adventure! To be honest, I have no idea where it is going to go from here. The lines between good guy/ bad guy are fuzzy, at best and I am excited to see who ends up on the side I want to be the good guys. I say it that way because it could turn out they are not. Yep, Sarah really changed up the typical Angel story. I hope book two comes out tomorrow.

I received an ARC of Echo of an Earth Angel from the author and I must say, I'm glad to have read it. I am a paranormal fan, but have recently felt so inundated with the normal cast of characters that I've been a little burned out on it. There were times that the writing felt "simplistic" - I'm not quite sure how else to word it. The author was writing from a teenage point of view so it may have been by design, but at times it just felt too forced and/or too cliche. All-in-all I say give this book a try. Readers will appreciate the different spin, enjoy the story, and like the characters!

Echo of an Earth Angel by Sarah M. Ross is the second novel in her series and keeps you turning pages. An easy read, I can't wait to see what happens in the next novel. I'm looking forward to the third novel to see what happens to them next.

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks? I was a bit on the fence about this one. I liked Tessa and David as characters quite a bit. Tessa has compelling history. What we know of David is still quite mysterious, but he is intriguing and a sweet heart. I felt like this story shed a pretty unpleasant light on angels. Even the good ones are questionable. God was alluded too, but again it wasn't necessarily in a good way. On the other hand, this was a unique and suspenseful spin on the spiritual world. Ec Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks? This was such a good book. I loved the way the story just jumped right in and took you into the world of angels. I love the love story and I love the way it ended...definitely wanting more that is for sure. None of the characters are aggrevating like in some books and you like all of the characters involved.
