This isn't my typical genre, but I have a goal to read lots of parenting books before my kids get too old. Not only is this a parenting book, but it is also a Christian book. Christian fiction has made me shy away from all Christian writing (outside of my own Christian denomination). However, this was a very uplifting book and made me want to read more books on selflessness. My only complaint would be that I would have appreciated more application advice. Overall, this was a solid four star book This isn't my typical genre, but I have a goal to read lots of parenting books before my kids get too old. A great Christian book about how to help kids think outside of themselves. The stories he used were interesting and he had some practical advice that I hope to implement in my own home. I will probably want to read this again and reference back to it.

Excellent, practical advice that had me flagging pages to go back to. I have implemented some of Dave's suggestions into our family life and feel an impact. There is so much to gain from reading this book and not just as a parent. And it's a quick read! Win win. There are a lot of things everyone could gain and use to help in every day life, to be more selfless and less selfish. My two favorite lines: It's amazing what can be accomplished when no one cares who gets the credit. And: Grace. Unmerited favor. We've received it and we are to offer it to others. I hope my kids live by those 2 things. There is so much to gain from reading this book and not just as a parent. And it's a quick read! Win win. This is the 5th summer in a row that I have read this book. Like every year before it I’ve taken away so many bits of tangibly advice. I recommend this series to every parent I know.
