John Chatham’s The Belly Fat Diet is a must read for anyone serious about dieting. This is not referring to fad diets that allow an individual to drop twenty pounds in a month only to gain thirty the next. This book is for those that wish to understand what they are doing in their daily lives which cause them to be overweight, and to curb said unhealthy habits. Throughout Chatham’s book he dispels many myths about dieting, while explaining in simple diction the best ways to achieve a targeted weight. He nowhere claims that his diet is a “Magical cure” for being overweight. Instead it is a proven method of changing said individual’s unhealthy lifestyle in favor of one that will insure a longer, happier life. Chatham begins his book by explaining the health risks that coincide with being overweight, continues to examine other diets’ approaches to weight loss, and then explain his diet. One of the key points Chatham makes is that on his diet there are not the all-too-familiar hunger pains accompanying any diet. Instead, the dieter eats throughout the day, but import is placed on exactly what is eaten and the portions ingested. Chatham points out that many diets result in the dieter losing blood sugar, becoming irritable and even dizzy or nauseous as a result of “Crash-dieting.” Chatham explains that this is not only immediately dangerous for obvious reasons but often results in the dieter binging, going off their diet, and left with a sense of failure; ultimately remaining unhealthy. Instead Chatham’s book recommends that individuals eat and eat often. But instead of greasy fast food, Chatham explains that a sandwich is not only healthier but cheaper. In summation, this diet will work! As any diet, the dieter is the one that decides how faithful they are to the program. But if Chatham’s advice is followed the cost of this book will pay for itself multiple times in junk food, medication, and hospital bills.

It explains why that is a good idea. Exercise is included with a couple of approaches to doing 30 minutes exercise 6 days a week. Interval training is recommended to include cardio and resistance/strength training. The training does not require extra equipment. There is also a discussion on the need for proper sleep, a few supplements (B, C, and Fish Oil), stress management, and other helps toward losing weight especially belly fat. The function of various hormones like cortisol and insulin are discussed along with management. The book does not go into detail on how to do the exercises, but gives website addresses where one can see how to do them. There are relatively few exercises involved which work both upper and lower body. Likewise, the diet is not laid out in minute detail. There is no weekly plan etc. It is left to you to follow the few rules and eat food from the list along with the weekly cheat food. There are numerous recipes in the back with a complete list of the allowed foods. Overall I thought it was a very good book for working on a plan to rid some of my belly fat. I'm encouraged. I was happy to find a book that does not have some pseudoscientific thing that it repeats over and over for hundreds of pages. This was short and sweet even if a bit incomplete. It tells me the places I can go to learn what is not included.

Belly Fat Diet- A Perfect Diet Schedule to Get Rid of Your Bely Fat I bought the book with the purpose of reducing my slight belly bump but was amazed to get a lot in return. The start of the book is good enough as it introduces the readers to the number of dangers related to having stored up in their belly section. However, the start only gets better with each subsequent chapter. The segment on insulin was very enlightening. As a food lover my favorite section was obviously the recipe section. The Cookbook is filled with delicious recipes and even encourages a little cheating each week to ease cravings. All in all, I felt wonderful after reading the book. The author has filled me up with hopes of getting a great body figure while retaining my stamina and fulfilling my eating needs. I am halfway through seeing the refined me. It is a must read for everyone who wants to lose their tummy fat for good by applying a moderate and time tested measures.

Alongside addressing why it's vital for larger waistlines to shrink, he includes accessible exercises, supplement suggestions, specific foods to avoid and ample (easy to make) recipes. Prior to reading this book, I didn't realize that belly fat played such a defining role in the risk of heart disease and strokes. I also never realized that the low-calorie diets I'd tried in the past actually increase belly fat! I definitely found its included grocery shopping guide and various meal planning tips helpful. While weight loss is a major focus of the book, its instructions and advice emphasize losing excess fat within a healthier lifestyle context. The diet plan not only worked, I was never hungry, tired or grumpy. In short, it felt less like 'another diet book' and more like an effective, encouraging guide to changing my entire approach to cooking, eating and living.

Some of the recipes look interesting, but the remainder of the content was light-weight (no pun intended) and nothing I haven't read before. Could use another edit - there were several errors in the Kindle version. This book tells about "The Belly Fat Diet," but it reveals that what a reader needs to give the diet a try is the cookbook that is available at the end of the book. Most of this book is little more than a sales pamphlet for the ideas that the author had to create "The Belly Fat Diet." It takes so long to get to the Diet itself, that it is almost not worth the read. I gave up on it. Maybe if I could find a hard copy, it would work for me. Do not recommend Very basic with not much scientific backing. Some information I believe to be wrong, such as it's better to drink skim milk instead of whole milk. With skim milk has more sugar and less fat, but if you're doing it right, your body can use the fat better than the sugar. It is more natural. I recommend doing more research Mr. Chatham. "The Belly Fat Diet" is a real eye-opener. I have tried many different strategies in the past and none have done for me what I learned from Mr. Chatham's book. After having read "The Belly Fat Diet," I feel like Mr. Chatham only taught me what I had always known. The Belly Fat diet is very well organized, uses easy to understand language and goes into great detail by defining and describing each step of the program. I like the concepts explained in this book. I have only read the book and haven't implemented anything so I can't speak to results. That said, it sounds like a diet that is sustainable and teaches you more about how to eat correctly than about self-deprivation. I am a fan of the South Beach Diet. I’m not usually a great fan of diet books, but I can’t ignore my stubborn belly anymore. So, I picked up this book in spite of myself. The science behind belly fat is interesting and well explained here. The title is something of a misnomer, though, because it’s more a prescription for a better way of living than simply a fad diet. I really learned a lot from this book, and I'd thought I knew a whole lot about health before. It's a clear, comprehensive plan of dietary guidelines, meal plans, workouts (even recipes), and not a fad diet. I plan on following the advice in 'The Belly Fat Diet" for the rest of my life. I was extremely impressed by this book. It's not long. It's not chocked full of jargon that people don't care about. It was simple, expressed the reasons behind adopting this eating and wellness lifestyle, and was a quick, to-the-point read. I will certainly take the advice to heart. It is not a normal diet book with tons of restrictions and phases. There are restrictions, of course, but there are also allowances for healthy treats and one cheat a week. It may have been a review of what you already know, but sometimes you need a kick in the pants to get motivated. There are recipes, too.

I read this book to get an overview of what I should be eating. I am trying to better my overall health. There were more points in this book that I agreed with then points I disagreed with. An example was: I can try drinking water first and then try fruit and protein. I have been slowly coming to this eating habit so I think my family will support me. This book was well organized.
