I read this book a number of years ago and just recently came back to it. The author, Drew Middleton, chief of the London Bureau of The New York Times, moved to Europe in 1939 and lived through the Nazi attack on France. He then moved to England with the British troops when they evacuated. This book, written 20 years later, gives his eyewitness account of the Battle of Britain. It includes RAF log entries, a concise recounting of the three phases of that battle, and interesting information glean I read this book a number of years ago and just recently came back to it. It enlarged my understanding of the war and the challenges faced by the British. I am thankful, for their courage and strength won a victory that affected the outcome of the whole world war and helped the Americans who became involved in it.
