A really cute story.. So, this was a really cute story. A couple of silly moments that were written. For example, Lucas and Mason waited in the security office waiting for the whereabouts of a car they were getting the GPS coordinates for. Instead of racing out to their car they just paced the room waiting for Mason’s phone to ring, and then ran like hell out the door, all the way through the hospital and out to Mason’s car? That was rather stupid. However, I did really like that Lucas and Tessa g A really cute story.. So, this was a really cute story. A couple of silly moments that were written. That was rather stupid. However, I did really like that Lucas and Tessa got their second chance at a HEA. And, even though, Tessa waited until the end of the book to get her backbone tightened-up I love what she did to Dean. Lucas and Mason should have left her alone and let her beat him to death. And, in case you’re wondering, there is explicit sex in this book. I got this book free with KindleUnlimited.

She hide behind her dowdy clothing and her beautiful antique store. She believes all she needs is her shop and her load and active nieces and nephews to make her life complete. Lucas Raven has spent the last 25years married to a women he did not love but stayed with because of their twin sons. Just recently retired from the police department he moves back to his home town with hopes of reconnecting with the one women that’s always been in the back of his mind. His best friends little sister Annie Jordan. The minute Lucas sees Annie he knows the attraction is still as strong as the day he left years ago. He sees the attraction in Annie’s eyes but there is also tremendous fear that was not there years ago. He comes up with an idea how to send more time with Annie, there’s some antiques in his attic that she may be interested in. Annie can’t resist treasure hunting and finds some nice stuff but also a very old journal and a strange and creepy doll. The journal tells of the curse attached to the doll. Lucas spends as much time as he can showing Annie he’s not like other men and that they could have a good life together. Annie becomes more and more attached and comfortable with Lucas but the fear is still there even if she’s never felt as safe as she does with Lucas. She still can’t seem to let go of the past and believe not all men are the same. Strange and odd things start to occur and the first person Annie thinks to call is Lucas she wants to believe in Lucas but things are spiraling out of control. Is it the curse that’s reeking havoc or is there someone behind all the weird things and accidents going on. When everything comes to an explosive point will Lucas be able to save Annie before she is lost to him forever? Be prepared to laugh and cry and cheer!

Using the excuse to get to know his old crush better they both embark on the slow process of rediscovering one another. Each of them have pain from the past locked away and difficulties to overcome. The slow, gradual growth of romantic feelings is a sweet and wonderful thing to read. I found it quite easy to lose myself in the gentle ebb and flow of Lucas and Tessa. Both Lucas and Tessa are middle aged which I found delightfully written and refreshing. I also really enjoyed how the book focused so fully on their blossoming relationship and not their differences, like Tessa being a vegetarian and Lucas a traditional meat and potatoes man. Initially Tessa is a bit skittish, but Lucas shows an abundance of patience. This is a sweetly sensual book about two people who’s lives have diverged but fate gives them a second chance together. While there are a few subplots, the real spotlight is on the characterizations and interactions predominantly between Lucas and Tessa. It’s a sweet, gentle read and highly enjoyable.

I received Heirlooms of the Heart as an ARC for an honest review. A wonderfully written story I couldn’t put the book down! I fell in love with the characters in this book! He wants to see if the spark is still there between his long ago love Annie Jordan. He ended up marrying another woman very fast and moving away from Duncan never getting the chance to be with Annie. Annie Jordan- stays away from any form of a relationship after getting out of an abusive marriage. She owns an antique store and when Lucas shows up she falls into his lap all of her feelings for him resurface with a vengeance. When a bizarre string of incidents start happening at her store she believes it’s a cursed doll from Lucas’ attic she agreed to sell, but Lucas believes it’s her ex who was released from prison early. Will Annie be able to let Lucas in and get over her fears of the past, or will she shut him out for good?

Callie Hutton delivers her wonderful stories in a contemporary form. Annie Jordan has come back to town to rid herself of her memories of an abusive relationship. Her ex-husband did more than uphold the law, he overlooked it in his own life. Annie has escaped and opened an antique shop of her own in her hometown. Lucas Raven has never forgotten his best friend's sister. He had a crush on her when he was a teenager, and nobody could compare, even his deceased wife. Together, the two of them experience strange happenings and Lucas finds out his protectiveness and infatuation has only grown fonder over the years. Annie's experiences with her ex-husband, as well as her relationship with a strange doll, put up a barrier that Lucas isn't sure he can break through. This is a wonderful story about love and support.

I completely adored Callie Hutton’s romantic suspense, Tessa’s Treasures. Masterfully, she intertwines the lovely and healing Tessa and the strapping Lucas with suspense, a dangerous ex and some spooky superstition. The boutique Tessa owns is quaint and shows the strength in her recovery from an abusive relationship. Ms. Hutton allows the reader to feel like they know the characters such as the loyal and patient, Lucas. He’s protective, observant and I love that he’s in his forties! First Love This story was so encouraging for people who married and divorced the wrong person. It has some new experiences for Tessa, suspense, sweet careful wooing and then fate takes over.
