Meghan and Ash's UNBORN CHILD? Excuse me while I try to breathe. Edit (11/8/12): Reading this made me realize how much I've missed Ash and Meghan. They're just so perfect together. Gahh. Also, Kagawa's wonderfully creative mind strikes again. I really liked that transition part where Meghan enters the Dream Pool, and of course the Wishing Tree was lots of fun too (big snakes yay)! The Lost Prince was kind of ehhh for me, since I didn't really like reading from Ethan's POV. It makes me wonder w Meghan and Ash's UNBORN CHILD? Excuse me while I try to breathe. It makes me wonder what it would be like to see something from Kierran's eyes, since he's the special one with three powers and whatnot. I'm all nostalgic, now. I'll have to go back and read that quote again where Ash pledges his undying loyalty to Meghan. "My name is Ashallyn'darkmyr Tallyn, third son of the Unseelie Court...Let it be known--from this day forth, I vow to protect Meghan Chase, daughter of the Summer King, with my sword, my honor, and my life. Her desires are mine. Her wishes are mine. Should even the world stand against her, my blade will be at her side. And should it fail to protect her, let my own existence be forfeit. This I swear, on my honor, my True Name, and my life. From this day on..." His voice went even softer, but I still heard it as though he whispered it into my ear. "I am yours.” *squee*

Post-Reading: For once, I'm speechless. I have nothing to say about this book. If you could see my facial expressions and hear how fast my heart was beating, then you'd know exactly what I thought of it. But I'm just going to leave a little letter here to Julie Kagawa: Dear Julie, Thank you. Thank you for letting me experience one last adventure with some of my favourite characters ever written. Thank you for taking the time to write a short story that shows a glimpse into what occurred next. Thank Post-Reading: For once, I'm speechless. I have nothing to say about this book. Thank you for making me feel all those amazing emotions again that I had felt while reading the Iron Fey series. Thank you for introducing me to a new future character, one that I know I'll end up loving just as much as these characters. But most of all, thank you for continuing to write even more stories in this fantastic world that you have created. I have no doubt that the new series, as well as your other future works, will be just as epic as the Iron Fey series. Because you are the only author who writes exactly the kind of books I love to get lost in. Seriously. I don't know what I would do if you ever stopped. So, again, thank you. I shall go cry in a dark corner somewhere now. Forever a fangirl of yours, Arooj. Pre-Reading: Meghan and Ash's unborn child? UNBORN CHILD?! *goes into freak out mode*

You have been warned. “So, what's the big emergency, princess? You and ice-boy look fine to me, and the Nevernever isn't crumbling around us. What's going on?" "I'm pregnant, Puck," I said quietly, and watched his eyebrows shoot into his hair. Wow, making warnings is not as easy as it sounds! Takes a lot of time and energy to declare one. Anyway, let’s move on. “Well,” Puck said cheerfully, forcing a rather pained smile, “it’s just like old times, isn’t it? You, me, ice-boy, the future of the Nevernever hanging in the balance…we just have to wait for Furball to show up and then it’ll be perfect.” “He is already here, Goodfellow,” came a familiar voice behind us, sounding bored and offended all at once. “Where he has been for much of the conversation, waiting for you to see past the end of your nose.” “Yep.” Puck sighed as we all turned to face Grimalkin. “Just like old times.” I have to say that I really missed Meghan. Especially now since she finally grew up and is not that naïve or weak as before. I am almost proud at her! “I'm sorry. But I am the Iron Queen, and you are in my way.” Ash ……. Sigh…. I still like him (dammit) even after all he did… “Sorry to wake you, but we have to be somewhere soon, remember?" Ash grunted and, to my surprise, shifted to his back and put the pillow over his head. "I don't suppose I could convince you to go without me," he groaned, his voice muffled beneath the fabric. "Tell Mab I've been eaten by a manticore or something?” Why didn't you get eaten T_T Puck … I missed him so much and especially his awesome sarcasm :D “If we all end up as llamas, I’m going to spend the rest of my life following you around saying ‘I told you so’ in llama-ese.” The journey may have ended for Meghan, Ash & Puck, but the new journey begins with the Call of the Forgotten. Venture in it if you are ready! p.s. (view spoiler)[ "So, it's the ever so popular Firstborn Child of Doom prophecy, huh, ice-boy? How very cliche. Why can't it be the third nephew twice removed who's fated to destroy the world?” I agree Puck... :D (hide spoiler)] ► REVIEW(S) RELATED TO THIS BOOK: ◉ The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1) ◉ Winter's Passage (The Iron Fey #1.5) ◉ The Iron Daughter (The Iron Fey, #2) ◉ The Iron Queen (The Iron Fey, #3) ◉ Summer's Crossing (Iron Fey, #3.5) ◉ The Iron Knight (Iron Fey, #4) ◉ Iron's Prophecy (The Iron Fey, #4.5) ◉ The Lost Prince (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten, #1) ◉ The Iron Traitor (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten, #2) ◉ The Iron Warrior (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten, #3) This review can be found on my blog: infinity-of-time.blogspot.com also known as...

SO MUCH ASH AND MEGHAN CUTENESS!!!! This book is too brilliant to put into words - all those sobbing episodes you all had at the end of Iron Knight when you realised that yes, Ash was back, but no, you wouldn't get to read more about him and his smexy self...they were all worth it!! Because Julie has come back with a story that is full of adventure, humour, Puck-ness (:D), foreboding and of course LOVE. If you weren't Team Ash before, prepared to be now. This was the epilogue fans deserved of Ash and Meghan. We see our favourite couple go on one last adventure with Puck and Grimalkin about the future of Ash and Meghan's family and it was great to read. It also answers a lot of questions I had during the Lost Prince, so I kinda wish I'd read this first! However I'm going to be way more informed for The Iron Traitor now. "Where he has been for much of the conversation, waiting for you to see past the end of your nose." "Yep." Puck sighed as we all turned to face Grimalkin. "Just like old times." An absolutely perfect and unforgettable ending to the Iron Fey series. There isn't much to say that hasn't already been said-I've gushed about Prince Ash so much that I don't think my friends could stand to hear his name one more time without gagging.....but what can I say? He is absolute perfection, the top of the top and the best of the best of book boyfriends...and he is absolute perfection. "I am yours to command, my queen," he whispered, making my heart clench in complete, helpless love. "I will obey, even if you order me to cut out my own heart. Even if you order me to the hell that is the Winter Court Elysium." This novella didn't teach me anything new about the fey world and it most certainly did not open any new doors or add any more problems that our favorite little trio would need to solve...but what it DID do was open up the door to the new spin-off series about Meghan's little brother and, gasp, her son. It gave us one last little adventure about all our of our favorite characters and let us see how adorable their real relationship is: no more angst, no more forbidden love. Just the two of them living their hard-earned lives together and enjoying being in each other's presence-with no more drama. It reminded me of our first dance together, my first Elysium, when I'd seen the cold, dangerous son of Queen Mab up close for the first time and was completely lost. Call it fate, destiny or just blatant hardheadedness on both our parts, from that moment on, there was no turning back. Buuuuuuutttt Kagawa doesn't ever exit quietly. Though Meghan and Ash are within each other's arms, where they want to be, a certain prophecy will change their lives forever. I won't spoil what it is, though I think I saw the prophecy at least three times on other reviews and it might be on the synopsis, but it involves Meghan's pregnancy....the pregnancy that she isn't even aware of. This is great news right? Or is it the ultimate demise of all of the Nevernever? Sighing, he lowered his head, his lips brushing my ear. "I've never been able to stop you, my queen," he murmured, "but I do want you to know that I might be a little overprotective tonight. These are your people, so that makes them mine as well, but my first and only duty is to you. Always." I'm sad to see these characters go: I think Ash has started to become one of my all time favorite characters. He is fierce, he is protective, he is loyal, he is without a doubt one of my top book boyfriends now. And as I said before, I am beyond sad that these people are moving on while I sit and crave for more of their banter and adoration-but I feel like this was the perfect send-off for me. It was the perfect end to Ash and Meghan's tremulous journey and it was an amazing look at what their life has become. And now, it's time to pass the torch. It's time to let Ethan, her younger brother, take the reigns and help his sister out-it's his turn to save the world, and it's his turn to find love and become apart of the Fey world again...whether he wants to or not. "How are you doing this?" I continued, frowning at him. "And if you say 'I am a cat,' I swear I will throw you off this balcony." For more of my reviews visit

I didnt expect this to end as it did. It ended abruptly and I guess the prophecy was left to be dealt with in Call of the Forgotten. It really worries me, especially now that I know the title of book #2. I really hope things work out ok, but I havent even read The Lost Prince so I dont really know what I am talking about. :p I really loved how this gave us so much insight into the lives of Meghan and Ash, what it is like for them now, being married. I think there were 2 chapters of them at home, and then at Elysium, before they left for their most recent adventure, and I think that was my favourite part. Although, I dont like seeing Ash so submissive. I know Meghan is his queen, but she is also his wife, and he shouldnt have to be all "As you wish, my Queen" all the time. But this is still chock-full of Ash lines that will make you melt. :P

Yay! I love seeing Meghan and Ash together as a couple. I greatly missed Meghan in The Iron Knight and it is nice to see a part of the life that she and Ash have after being married. They are getting ready for the first Elysium that Meghan has gone to as the Iron Queen but she is feeling a little weird nausea and almost fainting….hmmm wonder what that could be. The oracle that once asked for Ash and Meghan’s first born has bad news about their progeny and they must journey to her for the answers Yay! I love seeing Meghan and Ash together as a couple. Again with Grimalkin and Puck we are off for another little adventure. How are you doing this?” I continued, frowning at him. “And if you say ‘I am a cat,’ I swear I will throw you off this balcony.” I loved seeing the new Ash. Sure he will always be Ice-Boy but he is a little more human now he has a soul. Plus without having to always watch his back the way he did at the winter court he had become the best version of himself and there were a lot of tender moments between him and Meghan (I eat that sappy girl stuff up) I’m really happy that I took the time to read this. This is great set up for the new series and the troubles that Ethan and Meghan’s son could cause to the world and to Faery. I look forward to reading tales of their adventures and now I can see why some of the things I read in the Forgotten Prince happened the way they did. I probably should have read this one first and I would have better understood a few looks and ideas that weren’t clear in the first book of the new series. But I’m all in now. This is a great read with equal parts humor/tenderness/adventure but it should probably be read before starting the new series beginning with The Forgotten Prince.

First off, I would like to thank Julie Kagawa for giving us this novella, in which we get to have a glimpse into Meghan and Ash's life together!!! I loved The Iron Knight, but nonetheless I wanted MORE. Due to Kagawa's brilliant writing, I fell in love with not just the Nevernever, but with Ash and Meghan, and I was beyond thrilled to find that there would be a novella about them! *Breathes* Okay, now for the review: I DEVOURED EVERY. SINGLE. WORD. My heart fluttered as I read of the affection As First off, I would like to thank Julie Kagawa for giving us this novella, in which we get to have a glimpse into Meghan and Ash's life together!!! I loved The Iron Knight, but nonetheless I wanted MORE. SINGLE. WORD. My heart fluttered as I read of the affection Ash and Meghan held for each other through their words and gestures. I missed them! And I felt nostalgic as I rejoiced in the reunion of the happy couple with Puck, and Grimalkin. I'm really going to have to re-read The Iron Fey series in order to satiate this longing that I feel. Unfortunately, it was over too soon, and I wished so badly that it could have been longer. I honestly just wanted to stomp my feet like an irate child and demand for more. :( Alas, all things must come to an end, and I can only be grateful for this one last story with our beloved couple. I look forward to reading The Lost Prince, but I will forever & always love Ash and Meghan, and their story. Needless to say, I can't wait to go back to Nevernever. :) Again, thank you Julie Kagawa for this brief, but delightful adventure we got to share with our favorite characters!

Hmmm... Not as epic as the Iron Knight but still a good read. Though I must say... ME WANT MORE! One word: MISS. I will miss the cait saith, Grim. I will miss Puck's pranks and funny moments. I will miss Meghan's stubborness. I will miss the wonderful world of Nevernever. I will miss the adventures. I will definitely miss Ash. :D The Iron Prophecy is a novella written by Julie to highlight and tell the readers what happened next after Meghan and Ash's royal union. There's really no Happily Ever After without a dark twist. The old-bat oracle from the previous books made herself present once again and sent a prophecy that will shatter Meghan's world as she comes to the most difficult decision of her life. Both as Queen and as Mother. The last book from the Iron Fey Series will show us the team of Meghan, Ash, Puck and Grim one last time as they journey towards the oracle in the River of Dreams and as the Iron Queen choose between what is right and essential for her child and the future of Nevernever. 4.3 out of 5 stars.

Iron's Prophecy was interesting. I don't think it really fit as an ending novella to The Iron Fey series. It probably would work better as a prequel for the spinoff, since I suspect the Oracle's prophecy is going to one of the main conflicts of that series. Either way, I did like this glimpse into Meghan's life as the Iron Queen. Things can't stay peaceful for long, so of course the Oracle has to pop up and freak everyone out over something that might happen. Meghan has a tough decision to make though, since it all comes down to the two things she loves most in the world. She made the obvious choice, but given that futures aren't set in stone, it makes sense. I just hope that means there's exciting things to come! Read more of my reviews at Pinkindle Reads & Reviews.

Ok, I'm not even sure if I want to leave my review with the others who seem to love this novella. Unfortunately, it fell flat for me. I'm sure people will read my review and think I'm crazy, but we all don't have to agree. So here goes... Iron's Prophecy was between an ok and a like for me. I was definitely disappointed. The story was totally pointless in my opinion. It just gave us a tiny peek at life after Iron Knight with a bunch of hogwash surrounding that. The story was totally pointless in my opinion. It just gave us a tiny peek at life after Iron Knight with a bunch of hogwash surrounding that. I guess it could be setting up for the next book in the series, The Lost Prince, but for me I would have been fine not reading it. It actually just frustrated me. I will say, I've just recently started this series and I've read all the books back to back. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more had I had some time in between books and felt like I was missing the characters like so many others. The previous book, Iron Knight, was the best out of the whole series for me. Now that I look back, maybe the reason I liked it so much was because Meghan wasn't there to emasculate Ash. He actually made his own decisions and did what he wanted to do, not what he was told to do. Sorry, I love a guy who's willing to do anything for his woman, but he still needs to have some say and be able to put his foot down. In Iron's Prophecy I was wanting to beat my head against the wall at times. They're married in this book, but at times it didn't feel that way. I was questioning why it felt like she was treating Ash like one of her subjects. I don't think she got the memo on the whole EQUAL partners thing. I was so tired of "yes my queen," "anything you wish my queen" ... argh! Be a man and stand up for yourself. I'm all about powerful females, but please, PLEASE don't emasculate the male to make the female seem even more powerful. If he felt strongly about something, she basically dismissed it and was like "I'm the Iron Queen." Yada, yada, yada. Oh! That was another frustration of mine. At one point I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall. I was SICK of having to read "I am the Iron Queen" or anything pertaining to her being the Iron Queen. WE KNOW YOU'RE THE IRON QUEEN. At this point, if I were to develop Alzheimer's that would probably be the only thing I would remember. I mean the Winter Queen is referred to as Mab, the Summer King as Oberon, but Meghan is always referred to as the Iron Queen. We get it! Enough already! Can't we just use her name and leave it at that? ************SPOILERS*************** Irritation #1 - When Meghan... Oh! Excuse me. Let me start that over again. When the IRON QUEEN and Ash went to the Winter Elysium, she at first told him he wasn't allowed to start any fights. As they're walking through a crowd of Unseelie who seem to question their power she has a change of heart. Wasn't that nice of her! She basically is like "oh no, they can't think we're weak, Ash needs to be able to prove himself" and tells Ash to go ahead and start a fight. In my head I could hear Ash being like "Thank you my Iron Queen for allowing me to prove my manhood is still intact and I am indeed worthy to stand by your side." She was basically giving him permission to stand up for himself and prove he was still as powerful as before. And yes, I know he's her knight, BUT they're married now... he should have a voice and not follow her around like a lost puppy waiting to be told what to do. #2 It really bothered me when Meghan found out she was pregnant and neither her nor Ash were happy about it. It should have been an exciting moment for the both of them, regardless of what happened with the oracle. I was irritated that Meghan questioned whether Ash wanted a baby or whether she even wanted one. Umm, well, let me see. You're married, in which case you're obviously having sexual relations... Yeah, you can get pregnant! No shocker there. I guess you should have been questioning all that BEFORE you actually got pregnant. If she had been on birth control or something, fine, understandable. But seriously, I was wanting a happy moment for them and was really disappointed by the way it went down. Ok, I realize this is just a novella and I've written enough for a normal book. I could go on, but I'm going to stop myself now. 2.5 stars for me.

This review originally posted on GiGirls *Heart* Books on September 24, 2012 Where do I begin with this amazing series? This was another that sat on my to read list for far too long before I finally had the chance to pick them up. I have to thank my lovely friend Touya from The Reader's Garden for badgering me until I was completely enthralled with just the idea of reading these books. I devoured all four volumes in a week. Then I went and read all the novellas, (yes, out of order, sorry guys). This review originally posted on GiGirls *Heart* Books on September 24, 2012 Where do I begin with this amazing series? I have to thank my lovely friend Touya from The Reader's Garden for badgering me until I was completely enthralled with just the idea of reading these books. I devoured all four volumes in a week. Then I went and read all the novellas, (yes, out of order, sorry guys). I couldn't pause between books to see which one went where. That was last month and even with my busy reviewing schedule for the blog I am currently re-reading The Iron King. I was already experiencing withdrawal from Julie Kagawa's brilliance. The Iron Fey series is written by the fantastically talented Julie Kagawa and consists of four full length novels (The Iron King, The Iron Daughter, The Iron Queen and The Iron Knight) and three novellas (Winter's Passage, Summer's Crossing and Iron's Prophecy). It is centered around 16-year-old Meghan Chase as she learns about her true heritage and is pulled into the Nevernever to save her brother and finds herself immersed in the surreal landscape of the fey. This series is the complete package; it has everything you could possibly hope to find in a book. We have a strong willed, loyal female lead in Meghan. Ash more than fills the role of the oh-so-swoon-worthy yet deadly prince. Puck is the consummate best friend and prankster, cracking jokes while always having Meghan's back. And of course, we cannot forget the seemingly all-knowing guide/ally, Grimaulkin, who just happens to be a cat. There are more than enough villain types to go around as well. This series is emotionally charged and pulses with danger and suspense. I found myself completely drawn in from the very beginning and it still hasn't let me go. Julie Kagawa has created this beautifully terrifying universe and populated it with interesting and dynamic characters that will ensnare your heart and mind. I am very glad I waited until all four books were released before reading it-honestly, I don't know how I would have survived the wait between books. I am very excited about the spin off series ( tune in later on this week for my review of The Lost Prince!) Do you love stories of the fey, laughing, crying, being terrified and excited all at the same time? If so, this series is tailor made for you. The Iron Fey is a powerhouse production, completely enchanting and highly addictive; I dare you to read it and not love every moment. 5/5 Quills ~Mel
