Not amazing or groundbreaking, but I still enjoyed this book. Johnson-Blair used to work at MadCity Music and compiled these interviews about collecting records and going to concerts. It definitely makes the case for the record store as a community space, and made me think a lot about my own record collecting practices.

A nostalgic trip down memory lane to a time when you ran to the record store to buy a new album and danced in front of the turntable in the living room, or lay down on your bedroom floor to take it in. In the style of Stud's Terkel's "Working," this book is a series of personal vignettes. A nice read for any music lover.
