I taught from this book in my COM 357 class in 2007. It's a little dated now, but the foundation of communication theory as applied to things like website, facebook, copyright law, etc, is still solid. This book is a bit dated for something investigating technology as it was published in 2003. However, it is still very useful as long as you take everything with a pinch of salt and remember that much has changed since then.
