This book review is for the book Biographies of the Civil War and Reconstruction: Abraham Lincoln, Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant, and More by Sherman Hollar. This book is about stories of great heros and famous people of the civil war. I think the author wrote this book to inform us about these heros and people. My favorite part of the book is when the author expanded on how Harriet Tubman acted when she was freeing slaves. This is my part because she would not give up until all of the slaves that she was bring to the north. In conclusion being a hero is hard because you need the courage to stand up and change the world around you. I felt connected to this book because I felt that I was experiencing the challenges in that situations like Harriet Tubman because she had to help many slave to the north and not have any people lag on the way. In order to leader you must meet peoples demands. I would recommend this book because it has many facts for the Civil War. I would recommend to people how do Civl War reenactment people and people how want to learn about the Civil War. I learned that you need leadership to be a hero. For these reasons, you should never give up on what you are fighting for.

While many of the selection are well known, many were completely unfamiliar to this reader and provided a fresh look at the time period. A Table of Contents, Index, Bibliography and Glossary are included as well as an introduction, a brief conclusion and a website for additional information. A worthwhile addition.
